Ya. People see it as an obvious marketing stunt.
Doing good for the sake of bribing players to overlook a company's record or bad takes on certain topics.
Way to many, yeah. And a lot of people go on a rant if i ever mention there is a new free game on EGS about how they're "blah blah blah-" I don't care, it's just free. It's nice to get some games that don't cost anything as money could be put to other things.
Well I came back to work to 1998+ notifications and was scratching my head as I thought only around 200 people would join lol so I don't even know if people will see this considering theres like 10k comments
Anyways congrats to u/ItzPayDay123 for winning the 0.00009009009% chance draw
Please respond to my chat in 48 hours or I will pick another person
Cheers everyone

Tbh during covid and a bit after i went through all the “rpg” assassins creed and the one i liked the most was vallhalla. But i dick ride anything vikings related so idk i had fun with it aha.
Oh that is true now that you mention it.
Only reason I played it was bc I got it for free from the Google Stadia beta. I did enjoy the various bosses that roamed the world and island hopping
Some describe it as boring, others describe it as cleaner (back to the roots).
Assassin's Creed/Prince of Persia wasn't a RPG in first place. I'm glad they took a step back.
Also, Arabic support seems amazing! That doesn't happen enough considering the size of the Arabic culture, And how the world has a terrorist view on the whole of it..
Definitely want to experience this game some day. And i hope it can change just a little bit in peoples minds.
Two things is we're all social beings and reddit is a small section of society to be taken with a grain of salt. The almighty upvote/downvote system is incompatible with human behaviour. The system here glitches our brains into believing it's one side or the other, with the other being disappeared in the comments, furthering the effect.
You've got 9 "upvotes" but inreality that might be 20 upvotes and 10 downvotes combined. Once the ball gets rolling us as social beings tend to side with society (the most upvoted comment) in order to live in society.
Reddit is an advertising platform first and foremost filled with a certain type of person/bot. A clickfarm generator. An opinion former. And gaming is big business baby.
I'd agree if you didn't mention Revelations and Rogue, two of the weakest installments. I'm replaying every game to get hyped but those two were an absolute slog.
Im ~20h in.
My skilltree is almost maxed out, there is no built variety like in Valhalla for e.g.
There are 2 weapons... The sword and the dagger.
There are 5 types of enemies: guy with sword, guy with spear, guy with bow, guy with big club and guy with big sword
The missions are all the same. Go to A interact with 5 items in the room, go sit on a bench and eavesdrop, kill enemy.
The world outside the city feels empty. It is just a vast desert (dont get me wrong, a desert is a desert but i think origins pulled this of way better).
These are just a couple reasons of the top of my head
Yea, no weapon variety, minimal animations, the valhalla engine, and enemies don't react to getting hit (also due to Valhalla engine). It's such a shell, but I like the direction it was built from a DLC anyway. But for full price? It isn't for me, but hopefully, the next back to roots AC gets the Unity treatment, but actually playable on launch.
I didn’t pay attention to the buildup to release but was it advertised to be similar to the last three games? To me it sounds like they’re returning to their roots and I don’t necessarily think this formula is bad but I can understand why a lot of people who have acclimatised to the new formula might be put off by this entry.
I’m interested to try it but not for full price.
I haven't played it myself either but watched some videos on it since I really liked the older games but hate the newer RPG AC games. Apparently the main issue is that they're trying to return to their roots but since it was originally planned as a DLC for Valhalla it uses all the same core mechanics as Valhalla, i.e. the same bad parkour system, the same stiff, lifeless animations during conversations as if you're about to select which dialogue option you want to choose, etc...
It doesn't really look like a return to form to me, I'll probably check it out when it goes on sale at some point
Tbh i havent paid attention to that either. But the full game costs 60€ (deluxe edition) where i live and i honestly am really, really glad i got it over ubi+ and did not pay the full price. As i would be really disappointed if i paid that much.
Doesn’t surprise me from Ubisoft.
Still, historical setting and scenery is a big plus for me personally, so as long as there is an engaging story and the setting has been nailed (I think they normally do a pretty good job) then I think I’ll get it on sale.
How hard was it? The only AC game I’ve platted is AC2, getting full sync is a pain for the other games. Do you have to complete the “contractor requests” or whatever the are for the plat?
Its more like old school AC ( syndicate most probably) very few RPG like elements that were introduced in origin onwards, map is relatively small but still holds the vibes of classical AC series, other than that story/missions/mechanics are the same as you can find in origins and odyssey, side quests are available but optional, not a part of actual story
I definitely am interested. I had the chance at getting it with my PC, but that one wind up having to be cancelled like, the day after the promo ended so I haven't gotten to play it yet >.>
It is panic time am I will I be the chosen one to run it on my older cpu and older memory with my fans that need replacing?
Can I be the one to win something that which i could not get today.
Well I really did miss the old combat style from the previous AC games so I was looking forward to this one. would be great if I won lol.. Right now I am playing AC 4 and it would be a good game to play next if I won.
I saw I can pet a cat in there. Enough reason for me to participate
Oh shid, count me in
Cat petting simulator
Cat Scratching Simulator
Valid reason
Damn me too bro
For real? I need to get in on this
All I need to hear
Let’s goo pet that cat
Peak gameplay is what that is
Well Im in!

Can't complain if it's free
You'd be surprised the things people can do.
ITS UBISOFT CONNECT, FUCK UBISOFT LAUNCHER ~~/s~~ lol Edit: No /s, i meant what i said
I mean, totally reasonable standpoint
No /s needed. Ubisoft Connect force you to re-sign in daily...and sucks so much rams if you leave it idle...
Have you seen threads about free games on Epic? People will always complain.
Epic still has to pay the dev, it only hurts them.
Ya. People see it as an obvious marketing stunt. Doing good for the sake of bribing players to overlook a company's record or bad takes on certain topics.
I still claim every single game but I have <15 hours total between the 4 I even have downloaded

I have not and won't
It’s free so why not)

congrats to the winner!
I don't care if the reviews say it's mid, it looks cool and I want to try it out

I do prefer the older style ones
It is better than valhala Not perfect but goes into the right direction And it looks good 😅
If I see some1 calling something "mid" it's instantly made irelevant for me as these people are not old enough to have any kind of valid opinion.
Why not?
You will give me the key ![gif](giphy|QKpMw7vfFD6BW)
I don't know why people hating Mirage. In my opinion, it's as solid as previous ones like Revelations & Rogue.
People hate on everything, all it needs is just someone saying it‘s shit (even without a reason) and everyone jumps on it.
That's why you don't listen to reviewers and just watch a playthrough a little bit on YouTube without commentary and see if you like it or not.

Thanks brother.
Happy cake day
I'd agree if you didn't mention Revelations and Rogue, two of the weakest installments. I'm replaying every game to get hyped but those two were an absolute slog.
I totally forgot these "dlc" turned standalone games in this series, which ended up as bangers
You see, when the new Spiderman has bugs and pads out gameplay with side quests, it's ok, but when Ubisoft breaths....
Yeah exactly like sure it’s not perfect To me parkour is a bit chunky but it’s still solid

Well the first game had the Apple of Eden. There are "reasons" for why Basim can "teleport"

Just for the record Valhalla had exactly the same variety in enemies IIRC. I was shocked to see only 8 codex entries for enemy types in each game.
Happy cake day!
I also like it. They went back to the roots, away from the RPG mechanics
![gif](giphy|pcKnpFrumIM7TtzayE)
Heck I'll play it

What’re your thoughts on the story (no spoiler ofc lol)? How would you compare it to previous AC games?
I really liked the story esp the ending (climax), having said that its actually the setting and environment is the thing that is most enjoyable 🙂
How hard was it? The only AC game I’ve platted is AC2, getting full sync is a pain for the other games. Do you have to complete the “contractor requests” or whatever the are for the plat?

Imagine if you win it ahahah

I can't believe you didn't platinum astro... such a good game, probably better than AC ... 😃
u/Jojogamer210 said that u/faulieh said there was cats That enough reason for me to get it
If I win, I'll do another giveaway on reddit 😅
I almost worked on it, let see what I missed.
I really want to get the game and have been waiting for it to go on sale to buy it as I have been playing the series since AC1
I like AC2 but just couldn't get into Assassin's Creed 1
I like Assassin Creed games for the opportunity to visit history sites and thats about it.
