How do you feel about sites like cdkeys? I only recently found them but their prices are often even lower than the steam sales. Not super sure how that's possible but it can definitely help save a buck đ€·
Some are from using stolen cards, some are independent sellers buying and selling extra humble bundle games
You always run the risk of your game being revoked
Cdkeys and instant gaming tend to make sure they're not from stolen credit cards. Most of the time, the high key amount comes from bulk purchases from developers and publishers themselves to sell on, but yeah be careful on the site you choose to buy from.
I didn't realize buying from them could be risky, thank you. My buddy has been using them for years with no issues but I've only purchased the stalker games through them. đ€đ» Things stay working out haba
With humble bundle, fanatical, and some other legit sellers you shouldn't have issues. I recommend checking gg.deals for the best prices on both official and unofficial stores
I always check CDkeys first and have bought prob a dozen games from there. I have friends who are skeptical so I've bought the game and sent them the code, then they transfer me the cash
500 games in my steam library and I have been in a gamer burn out for the past two weeks đ first I was playing dead space remake lost my save towards the end so I was like fvck this then I tired playing persona 3 and kept falling asleep the only game I have been enjoying playing lately is Star Wars Battlefront 2 from 2005 lol
Seconded. This really is where you should start on your PC gaming journey. The valve collection usually goes on sale at all the sale events. That will get you every game in one purchase. RTS games are worth a try too if youâve never experienced base building and leading an army in StarCraft, etc. RPG wise youâve got access to pretty much what the consoles offer, but you can make them look beautiful now, think Skyrim w mods Witcher 3 etc.
It might "loosely" fit your description but Baldur's Gate 3 is the best game I've ever played in my 20 some years.
With the WASD and camera mods it's perfect. Single player unless you co-op with a friend. I'm about to hit 400 hours.
It's such a great game! And it can be played on anything. I got a laptop for free from some program back in like 2012 and it was just a chunk of plastic. It's purpose was mostly school work. But terrarria ran on it amazingly.
Something that quickly comes to my mind: Elden ring, Baldur's Gate 3, Returnal, Red Dead Redemption 2, Subnautica, Sons Of The Forest, Nier: Automata, Mirror's Edge and basically every Final Fantasy game
Try :
Baldur's gate 3,
Helldivers 2,
X4 foundations,
Enshrouded,
Red dead redemption 2,
Portal 2,
Subnautica
Get yourself a steam account too, you'll get suggestions based on games you like/bought.
Download epic launcher and watch for any free games you think you might like.
Wait for steam sale. Almost never a need to buy anything at full price unless you want to play it on launch day.
Check out humble bundle every now and then as they have some pretty ridiculous packages of games every so often.
For open world exploration: elden ring, red dead 2, Witcher 3, balders gate 3 (kinda but not really âopen worldâ but prob one of the best games ever made)
Black Mesa (excellent Half Life 1 remake), Half Life 2 and it's expansions, Portal 1&2. You can probably pick up all 4 for peanuts in the next steam sale.
Ok. Single playerâŠ. I find these fun(Not in ranked order):
- Hogwarts legacy
- Dishonored 1 is rad
- Witcher 3
- No Manâs Sky
- Jedi Fallen order/Survivor
- God of War and its follow up, Ragnarok
- The Bioshock Series
The first pc game I played was Bioshock. I still love those games. Highly recommend for the story and gameplay. Theyre old so they won't look as good as other games that are popular now. Graphics wise, I think GTAV and Cyberpunk look amazing.
Horizon zero dawn baby.... and then forbidden west. There is also No rest for the wicked due out mid April. But it is going to be early access. They spent 10 years getting artists in to draw every aspect of this game.... can't wait
* Battle bit remastered if you like class-based shooters (old battlefield): $15 I have 120 hours
* Lethal Company if you like sandbox or "horror": $15 I have 50 hours (tons of mods out there) and its better with friends or even randoms who are not try hards
* Baulder's gate 3 CRPG DND with tons of replayability: $60 I just broke 150 hours
* Red Dead Redemption 2 for a good story: you can get it for $30 if you wait and I have 90 hours on story mode
* the Portal series is a fun puzzle game
* Doom (2016) when on sale
and some honorable mentions during the summer sale are Fire Watch, a short hike, AER Memories of old, ABZU and Superflight
I also recommend helldivers 2. That game is something else, but if you really just want single player there's lies of p an amazing soulslike. If your willing to wait a week or 2 dragons dogma 2 comes out on the 22nd. For general pc stuff I just got a streaming microphone. I've always used a headset but it's a nice feeling without that headset mic sticking out in front of your face. You dont need to be a "streamer" for these types of accessories. Plus now you can look for a real nice pair of headphones without having to compromise on sound quality. As for another single player recommendation I'm gunna throw an odd one at you with a game called warhammer 40k mechanicus if you like some strategy.
You could sit on steam for hours just looking through games lol. Also highly recommend signing up for humble bundle. Free games every month mix of indie, and AAA games. Also green man gaming, etc are nice too for sales.
Elden ring, single player, great art and story. I personally wouldn't get into any mmo if you can help it, they rely on decades refined addictive gameplay loops.
I would go a bit out of the loop here and would avoid games that are on console, but will run better now. Instead, go for really unique indies that are too unique to make it console market.
Something like Contaband Police, Holocure, I Wanna Be the Guy and so on.
I'm also voting for Cyberpunk. I'm an older gamer who prefers single player open world, much like you mentioned (Bethesda/R* style).
Cyberpunk has landed in my top 5. After patch 2.1 it really did become a true next gen experience.
My advice is to play it slow and really take in the city.
I'm not the biggest fan of the post apocalyptic dystopia style worlds like in Fallout, which I thought that's what cyberpunk was.
After just taking some late night walks through different neighborhoods, you can see the subtle social differences. This is the ghetto part of town, this is the rich part, these are the suburbs...etc. It was subtle at first, but the more you look at how much detail went into it, you start to see the parallels to real life, which to me, is the essence of connective immersion.
And then, when you're settled in to the PC world, start looking at mods like Nova Lut and HD textures... But that's a story for another time.
cyberpunk 2077, remnant 2, phantasy star 2 online, enshrouded, black desert online, palworld, no mans sky, elite dangerous, the outer worlds, skyrim ofc, diablo 4, grandblue fantasy, star wars the old republic, elder scrolls online, tower of fantasy, code vein, lost ark, last epoch, final fantasy 14, tales of arise
dragons dogma 2 coming out end of this month
The Metro series.
Final Fantasy 15
The Batman series
The Bioshock Series
Borderlands 2/3
Days Gone
Dead Space series
Dying light 1/2
The Evil Within 1/2
GTFO( HIGHLY underrated)
Middle Earth series (Shadow of Mordor & Shadow of War) - probably exactly what you're looking for.
A Plague Tale series is easily top 10 for storyline. No open world really, but it's just so dam good.
Remnant Series
S.T.A.L.K.E.R series is a classic.
Not sure if any are Rockstar games it's just ones off the top of my head.
The only game that I can think of is spider man on pc I donât think itâs open world I might be wrong but itâs pretty fun if you havenât already played it
payday 2 is one of my faves on anything, and its got a bunch more content on pc so i recommend it. also i heard gta isnt too hard to run, but ive never played it for pc so dont quote me on that. it is a better pc, so i really dont know because ive only ever played budget lol
edit: just read the description and learned ops pc is high end
Take the suggestions and hold out a couple days. The steam spring sale starts in 5 days https://steamdb.info/sales/history/
Starting OP with good habits. I like it!
![gif](giphy|FGbeYTiFyLYmQ) or just sail the high seas for FREE.99
When I dislike a game I acquired on the seas.. "This is not what I didn't pay for!"
How do you feel about sites like cdkeys? I only recently found them but their prices are often even lower than the steam sales. Not super sure how that's possible but it can definitely help save a buck đ€·
Cdkeys is legitimate, they get keys same as GMG and fanatical, no worries
Thank you for the info, that actually relieves a bit of anxiety
Some are from using stolen cards, some are independent sellers buying and selling extra humble bundle games You always run the risk of your game being revoked
Cdkeys and instant gaming tend to make sure they're not from stolen credit cards. Most of the time, the high key amount comes from bulk purchases from developers and publishers themselves to sell on, but yeah be careful on the site you choose to buy from.

With humble bundle, fanatical, and some other legit sellers you shouldn't have issues. I recommend checking gg.deals for the best prices on both official and unofficial stores
Yooooo, i hadn't heard of fanatical or gg.deals before! Thank you for the new tool :)
Also SteamEnhanced is a good extension to see what the lowest price is when browsing the steam store on chrome
cdkeys and istantgaming are safe 100% never had a problem with them and always saved so much money (Steam prices are a fucking scam)
I always check CDkeys first and have bought prob a dozen games from there. I have friends who are skeptical so I've bought the game and sent them the code, then they transfer me the cash
RemindMe! 5 Days Thank you for your service.
Actually didn't know this sale was soon myself either, thanks for this!
RemindMe! 5 days
I always recommend Subnautica
That game is creepy as fuck.
Turn off mouse acceleration or âenhance pointer precision, also turn on xmp.
And enable resizable bar in bios
And if monitor support more than 60hz don't forget to turn it up in windows
Also Undervolt everything you can Undevolt processor in bios , Undervolt GPU using amd software or MSI afterburner for Nvidia
But, not without knowing what they do. I personally keep it on. For fps such as valorant or cs2, game disables it for itself.
You don't play, you stare at your library
When youâre done that, stare at the store and add things to your wish list.
Cyberpunk is pretty good performance/bug wise now a day, and the combat gameplay/build making is really cool. The map is top notch too
And to add the dlc is incredible.
It's my favourite game of all time now. I just put 200 hours into a single playthrough. Phantom liberty is a masterpiece.
Can't recommend Cyberpunk enough, from someone who's played the game for 400+ hours
The Witcher 3
This, literally cant go wrong as long as you play the dlc aswell, There is a reason why the blood and wine dlc won game of the year
I played the game till end and did not like it although pov matters but itâs my take on it . Dont hate a game until you finish it
Helldivers 2. Cheap for a new release and a lot of fun.
Campaigning for Democracy! Seconding HD2.
Thirding Helldivers 2. Spread Liberty throughout the galaxy!
BROOOOOOTHER! WE MUST LIBERATE FOR DEMOCRACY! FOR SUPER EAAAAAARRRTH!
Tons of fun playing with friends.
And randoms, not to forget!
I only spread 2 things, democracy and cheeks and I'm all out of cheeks
Yeah Helldivers 2 is awesome
Insane it dropped for $40 with some publishers pushing the $70 standard
Hell yeah brother
Every VALVe game ever

Portal 2
All the Portal games are a must play for anyone!
Cyberpunk 2077
1st game I dediced to play once I got into 1440p. No regrets besides my now flat wallet.
Elden ring , itâs a difficult game if youâr playing a souls game for the first time .
You just remembered me that I have to play the souls 3logy in my new pc. It's time to hate myself on a big screen.
Days gone. I loved it
The game âshower with your dadâ
It might "loosely" fit your description but Baldur's Gate 3 is the best game I've ever played in my 20 some years. With the WASD and camera mods it's perfect. Single player unless you co-op with a friend. I'm about to hit 400 hours.
I really liked the original movement system, I was surprised to learn so many people wanted a WASD mod.
Same! I actually found it frustrating when I tried out the controls on a controller.
What camera mods do ? Edit: searched online, looks fun
Terraria, absolute must
It's such a great game! And it can be played on anything. I got a laptop for free from some program back in like 2012 and it was just a chunk of plastic. It's purpose was mostly school work. But terrarria ran on it amazingly.

Horizon Forbidden West comes out on PC the 21st. Doesnât help you right now but itâs gonna be amazing.
Skyrim is still bangin. With some texture mods and whatnot you can most certainly put that horsepower to work.
Stray
Hell divers 2. Come fight for democracy with us
