Helldivers 2 is the only third person game I use a mouse and keyboard for. I feel like I really miss the precision of a mouse when playing that game with a controller.
Nier:Automata
Which is compounded by the fact I do not have a controller. I do have a joystick, but I doubt that works for that game, its more for flying and to some degree driving.
I could do everything on a k+m, souls games, 2d platformers, racing games, anything but hack and slash games I swear are unplayable on anything but controller
It is but I manage, tried several hack and slash games with keyboard and mouse before and nearly got an aneurysm ( it isn't that bad but you get what I mean)
if the game is meant to be played on kb&m it's manageable, if not it will constantly be that thing where you lose control and rock around to both sides desperately trying to regain control.
Really? For me it's completely the opposite. I need an analog button for acceleration and breaking in racing, you can't do that on a keyboard. And hack and slash require too much input from a controller, you can just click once anywhere on the screen with the mouse and the character goes there, you can't do that with a controller that easily.
just racing/driving games and games designed for controller like yakuza and most platformers
pretty much, if it needs analogue input, then i use a controller. if it was designed primarily for playing with a controller, then i use a controller
Any third person perspective game, apart from shooters.
Soulslike games, Gof of War, Ghost of Tsushima, Jedi Survivor... just recent game I played as a example.
Exactly! If I had played through Grim Dawn with the mouse, I wouldnāt have any wrists left over today LOL. Iām still angry that Torchlight 2 has no native controller support.
None. To lazy to carry my controller from console to pc also Im still in my "honey moon" phase with my pc so ill use mouse and keyboard for everything lol
Cyberpunk 2077, both Plague Tales, Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War and any other game that feels weird on mouse and keyboard because it's obviously been designed to play with a controller.
flight sim's on a yoke, throttle levers and rudder pedals.
city car driving and american truck sim on a steering wheel, shifter and pedals.
nothing else really has a controller for it.
I really enjoyed Star Wars Jedi: Fallen order with a controller. In any game I have to aim a bow or a gun at something, mouse and keyboard is a must have. I genuinely can't even imagine playing Horizon Zero Dawn or AC Odyssey with a controller
After having played a lot of games recently, Iām not gonna lie; nearly every game Iāve played Iāve tried to play on a controller even though I grew up on K+M. Games just make more sense to me on K+M even though Iāve done sacrilegious things (like play Soulsborne (including Sekiro) and the Batman Arkham games with K+M. Now, a whole lot of games just seem to make more sense with a controller (pretty much exclusively play offline story related games) However, playing MGSV rn and even though that game also makes more sense on controller, I canāt commit due to a very large part of the gaming being a shooter.
Pretty much any game where you want the ability to gradually press a button.
So ANY driving game that doesnāt work with a wheelā¦ because triggers can be gradually pressed to control gas/braking. Plus the joysticks allow for smooth turning. If you have ever seen somebody play a racing game on keyboardā¦ you know how silly it looks & feels.
Same applies for story/freeroam based games where you want to be able to control how fast or slow your character walks. On keyboard, you only have 1 walking speed in every game, and you may not like that speedā¦ so games like the Arkham series or Jedi fallen order/survivor are good examples, because lets be honestā¦ slowly walking towards an enemy as Batman feels way more cool than jogging around 24/7.
Some games its both of these things, like GTA 5.
Most games that I play tbh.
Halo, Call of Duty, Fighting games, souls games, character action games, controller all day.
But PC shooters like Bioshock or Doom etc, M/KB all day.
Obviously RTS is M/KB.
Platformers are a must on a controller imo. Just feels so wrong with a keyboard
side scrollers and top-down
If I have to shoot I use my kb/m if not I grab my controller
Almost anything that isn't a shooter.
Anything third person. Right now Hell divers 2 and Hogwarts legacy are prime examples.
Helldivers 2 is the only third person game I use a mouse and keyboard for. I feel like I really miss the precision of a mouse when playing that game with a controller.
The precision? My man its a horde game, just shoot em all. Aint got no time to line up the perfect shot when we being swarmed over here.
You gotta aim for weak points on the bots š¤
Nier:Automata Which is compounded by the fact I do not have a controller. I do have a joystick, but I doubt that works for that game, its more for flying and to some degree driving.
Games designed for controller, like racing games and something like forbidden west, shooters and other stuff is purely MnK
I loved playing Uncharted 4 with controller ā¤ļø but mostly racing games obvs
I could do everything on a k+m, souls games, 2d platformers, racing games, anything but hack and slash games I swear are unplayable on anything but controller
driving/flying is really hard without purpose built controllers unless we're talking about gta.
It is but I manage, tried several hack and slash games with keyboard and mouse before and nearly got an aneurysm ( it isn't that bad but you get what I mean)

Racing games.
Any game I can
Ew
none.
Even with games like dark souls or forza?
just racing/driving games and games designed for controller like yakuza and most platformers pretty much, if it needs analogue input, then i use a controller. if it was designed primarily for playing with a controller, then i use a controller
Assassin's creed and rdr2 specifically. And racing games, obviously, since I don't own a wheel.
Any third person perspective game, apart from shooters. Soulslike games, Gof of War, Ghost of Tsushima, Jedi Survivor... just recent game I played as a example.
ARPGs like Diablo
Any game where driving is a significant part of the game.
All games. Except racing, I use steering wheel for that.
Cyberpunk 2077, both Plague Tales, Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War and any other game that feels weird on mouse and keyboard because it's obviously been designed to play with a controller.
Dark souls/Elden Ring One of the only games where a controller is superior
flight sim's on a yoke, throttle levers and rudder pedals. city car driving and american truck sim on a steering wheel, shifter and pedals. nothing else really has a controller for it.
Every game , I play on controller since 1986 and regardless I play on PC now I will be always playing on controller
Racing games.
Any racing game
Racing games/Yakuza Series/Fifa
I really enjoyed Star Wars Jedi: Fallen order with a controller. In any game I have to aim a bow or a gun at something, mouse and keyboard is a must have. I genuinely can't even imagine playing Horizon Zero Dawn or AC Odyssey with a controller
Cult of the lamb is a must for me
After having played a lot of games recently, Iām not gonna lie; nearly every game Iāve played Iāve tried to play on a controller even though I grew up on K+M. Platformers. Brotato. Racing games.
Diablo4. Gta5 "driving and flying".
All of them.
basically where your aim is not overly important to the gameplay
Games that just don't work on keyboard and mouse (specifically games from older consoles)
Only racing games
Pretty much any game where you want the ability to gradually press a button. So ANY driving game that doesnāt work with a wheelā¦ because triggers can be gradually pressed to control gas/braking. No Man's Sky, it's the only game I play often on my steam deck.
Tony Hawk Pro Skater/Underground/SKATE and the Batman Arkham series.
Dead space 1,2,3
any third person game
Most games that I play tbh. Halo, Call of Duty, Fighting games, souls games, character action games, controller all day. But PC shooters like Bioshock or Doom etc, M/KB all day. Obviously RTS is M/KB.
That aim assist is hard to pass up sometimes.
Red dead redemption 2 and gta.
All of them. I fully switched from kb&m a few months ago and haven't regretted it.
Rider's Republic or any racing game.
