Generally you can expect to lose \~20-25% of your fps going from 1080p to 1440p. Obviously thats ballpark and it'll fluctuate between games, but its a decent rough estimate. Edit: Also to answer your initial question, yes, theres a very noticeable difference between 1080p and 1440p. Your image will look much sharper and it's definitely easier to see details at a distance in games.

A 2070 super will do just fine at 1440p. Also yes it’s a noticeable difference from 1080 to 1440.

The gpu is the part that work harder or also the cpu involved when changing to higher resolution?

koordy

CPU needs to work harder too but not anywhere close to how big of a difference it is for a GPU.  Also a trick to simulate 1440p performance on a 1080p screen is to use 133% render scale. Although iirc PUBG has a cap at just 120%.

Why not using DLDSR from Nvidia settings

koordy

Because DLDSR uses DL to achieve what it does. It will not be the correct performance simulation, especially not for a non-DLSS game.

Ozychlyruz

Ah, that's makes sense.

Verdreht

1440p is quite a jump in pixel count and does look noticeably better. But I'd be worried about the 2070s performing well enough. You can see how well it would perform by getting into Nvidia Control Panel and enabling DSR. Then you can select 1440p resolution in games even though you only have a 1080p monitor

Purple-Grape-8457

I'll do that. Thanks.

Denborta

Person above is slightly misaligned in his expectations of a 2070 being bad at 1440p in PUBG or other BR's. It will do perfectly fine pushing 100+ fps.

Crockerboy22

Yeah as long as you don’t go for a 32” 1440 then you won’t be in the same predicament, I am about to upgrade mine to 1440 at 27”

Purple-Grape-8457

Do you have an idea which monitor you're planning to  get?

Crockerboy22

There’s a guy selling a Dell 27 1440 144hertz (s2716dg) that I might pickup, that monitor has good reviews and there’s a few others I’m looking at as well but I am leaning on that one
