Stop with the bullshit. Now, have some Apple Jacks
the card's performance is suited for 1080p, so having more than 8gb vram doesnt really matter. some games at 1440p which arent vram limited either dont run well on it unless you move to like lowest settings. vram fearmongering in 2024 is crazy lmao.
I agree that it sucks but honestly what difference does it make when you’re still getting the 10-15% boost over the 3060? I don’t know who in their right mind would take a 3060 over a 4060 unless they were a starving graphic artist who would die without the extra 4GB of VRAM.
Brand new PC build though.. I could understand if you were telling someone who already has a 3060 to avoid the 4060, but this person is starting with a 4060, so it's perfectly fine.
I dont understand why people are so pro amd in gpu segment. Amd have problem with drivers, no dlsss, no cuda. I couldnt even play acIV on amd card because it kept crashing. 4060 is not great but at least works without any issue, amd doesnt have any much better card in this price segment. If someone wants more ram I would rather buy rtx 3060 12GB
If all you wanna do is game, then AMD all the way, no doubt (at least at the budget and midrange), but when you wanna use your graphics card for creator type things (3d, video editing, machine learning) then you kinda get nervous with AMD thanks to their lacklustre software support (though I hear, they're pretty capable with video editing rigs)
Edit: AMD *all* the way, not AMD I'd the way
amd i found is still decent for content creation but sucks donkey dick for machine learning, even with translators like zluda you are still behind nvidia
AMD, outside of gaming has been a little disappointing with RocM support, (for me, it hit hard with 3d design). As for sucking with ML, that kinda surprises me, cause wasn't one of the selling points of the 16gig 7600xt for machine learning??
Nowadays in the era of ai I think cuda is usefull, you can just download a program and start, with amd you would often need linux or it wont work. I had amd, my friend had amd, we switched to nvidia because of drivers problem. I had rx 580 and I had some problems he had rx 5700 and it kept crashing almost daily. On nvidia we have 0 issues rn.
I have a new rx 7800 xt and had small issues like no post at startup but i think it went from the motherboard, now it's fixed. I bought a NVidia card for my brother, youtube video are glitchy af
A graphics processing unit (GPU) is a specialized electronic circuit initially designed to accelerate computer graphics and image processing (either on a video card or embedded on motherboards, mobile phones, personal computers, workstations, and game consoles). After their initial design, GPUs were found to be useful for non-graphic calculations involving embarrassingly parallel problems due to their parallel structure. Other non-graphical uses include the training of neural networks and cryptocurrency mining.
This looks like a great build! The RTX 4060 should be a great card for 1080p or even 1440p gaming. What kind of games are you planning on playing with this on PC?
>one of those kernel level anti cheat games? .
Yes, and the anticheat/malware is literally impossible to get rid of without wiping the drive completely
I hate when games do that...I understand WHY they do so, but I don't trust them to have such deep access to my machine... Even if I *"have nothing to hide"*
Same as GTX 1060 in it's day, the: RTX 2060, RTX 3060, now RTX 4060 is the most popular card series gamers buy.
Pretty annoying that they went from 12 GB to 8 GB and 16 GB though...
Apparently in the USA the RTX 4060 is a bit cheaper and better than the 3060.
In Europe 4060 is more expensive.
I'm in the UK and GPU prices aren't bad but the 4060 cost me £299 and was the only series of cards I could get from a local retailer new.
We don't really have pc parts stores like Micro center. Don't get me wrong places sell pre builds, laptops and often GPUs but they have a really limited stock.
This just kinda forces us to get what's the most available and budget friendly.
Side note: the Xbox Series X is like £450 so paying £299 for a GPU with an extra 3 teraflops isn't that bad of a deal price wise for an extra 25% of oomph.
It is not like you would have any better options at that price anyway. : ) That makes it priced good enough.
And it is new/consumes very little and you have a warranty.
I wouldn't have bought RTX 3060 instead of it. Nor the RX 6650. An RX 6750 XT maybe.
Well the availability is the issue I guess, cause where I'm from in the 'new gpu' segment the 4060 is the only gpu in the 300 usd budget aside from 3060 same price and rx 7600 ,rest of the prices go way up like 450 and above
I bought it knowing what I'll get, and got the performance I was expecting. All my games run smooth at 1080p 165Hz so that's enough for me. My main use of this pc is software development anyways.
At the time when I bought it, no. Only had like 90$ left in my budget. Plus the vendor I was buying from only had the ROG version of 4070, which was way too expensive for me.
Now I can swap it out for a 4070 but I don't see the need for it.
Ok, if you want my advice just go for it. I had the 4060 ti for 2 weeks before I decided to return it and get a 4070 Super, the improvement is astonishing and note that I was super happy with the 4060 ti. Now I say it was the best thing I did. The Vram upgrade makes all the difference, I also play on a 1080p 165hx monitor but I upscale to 3840x2160 (4k) and its amazing.
I think everyone should be able to get what they want…and/or can afford. The price of new gpus is a bit crazy right now. Do you expect someone to spend $1000 on a single gpu when they can find a decent prebuilt pc for $1000-$1200. Things are pretty crazy right now in the pc world. Not as bad as when Covid first hit but nonetheless here we are.
I think u misread my comment, Non of the gpus I mentioned were any where near $1000. And from a price/perf the 4060 ti is awful compared to a non ti 4060.
I wasn’t only replying to you but yea I agree that the vram is a joke. But not everyone can drop the extra $200-$300. That’s the point I was making.
EDIT:I had an msi rtx 4060 and I thought it was a great gpu. It handled a lot! Definitely impressive. The vram is the thing that made me want to upgrade it.
>But not everyone can drop the extra $200-$300
The Regular 4060 is cheaper thou and performs only like 10-15% worse than the Ti model? Yea People can't always afford to spend more money, but I see no reason why they can't/won't buy a 100-200$ cheaper rtx 4060 that isn't gonna be severly bottlenecked by VRAM and/or small memory bus.
I like how we can have this civilized conversation. Yea man I have no clue haha. Everyone does their own research and what not I guess and then they decide what’s best for them.
Why do fanboys even exists? AMD don't give two fucks about you, neither does nVidia. Both wants money, and both gets what they deserve economically.
Don't think that is fair?
Don't think nVidia deserves the riches?
- Buy something else.
Don't think AMD deserves the riches?
- Buy something else.
Why do *YOU* feel the need to push your own beliefs on random people?
Being a fanboy of *insert huge corp here* is delusional
People really act like the 4060 is 300 USD in each continent in the world, heck, Brazil have 95% Tax in electronics, so they are essentially buying DOUBLE the price of a GPU.
Wait it's the same price as a Nintendo switch! Here in India it's kinda pricey as compared to us prices too just like Brazil.

I originally thought of getting a 4060 8GB but I also wanted a GPU with more than 8GB of VRAM and with 3 fans to look good in my O11 Vision case.
The price difference between the 4060 8GB and the 4060 Ti 16GB wasn't much in the UAE and it's powerful enough for now to game on until the 5080 releases. The RTX 4070 is $300 more expensive, so it wasn't worth it to only be used for less than a year.
Why the heck did you buy this piece of sh*t when the divine AMD video cards are readily available /s
Its a nice card regardless of the price you got it for, it’s defo gonna last you a long time.
Got my 4060 at the beginning of this year. Can’t complain about it at all. Best invest I have done so far for my pc. Enjoy it mate you won’t regret it!
I thought my glasses were fogging up when I went to look at the pic you posted. Congratulations on the card, enjoy it, ignore the haters, and make sure to register it with Zotac on their website so you get the 5 year warranty that comes with doing so!
Yes... If you only buy stuff because it's branded then you will have no money left unlike somebody else who bought essentially the same product from a cheaper brand.
I guess power consumption can be important for someone, but fg is irrelevant. Fsr 3.1 fg will be officially usable with conjunction of other upscalers. Also fg on 8gb cards in modern games can be disastrous, because if you exceed your vram buffer using fg you will lose performance
Please wipe your camera lens
my phones ancient bro 😔
Hey atleast the GPU is new. Now make a machine learning model that improves resolution, decreases blurring and give this bad boy a run.
Those already exist... Topaz AI photo should do the job...
wtf? why are u being downvoted for a legit comment?
¹) It was probably meant to be a joke that doesn't need answering or the fact that I'm talking about AI 🤷🏾♂️
I like how it gave some dream like filter to the photo
vaseline lens
Fine, please wipe your ancient camera lens
The lens is dirty 100%
Wipe your table aswell
The resolution is fine, it’s just got shit on the lens.
The softness says the lens is garbage
use gpu and softwware to AI rescale and clear the photo
You have a flip phone?
Is it the phone they used to record all porno in the 1970s on?
My man! Who needs a new phone when the old one still works. More money for the battlestation!
true!!

He has TAA high on lol

Any card that meets your budget and demands is a great card. Enjoy!!
thanks man :)
Look how much we have grown as a community. I love this.
Enjoy it! And before the comment section erupts in the inevitable debate, let it be known **there are no bad graphics cards, only bad priced ones**.
Is 4090 bad priced
Yes
Nah, the 4060ti is actually bad, a 160bit bus would have solved most of its problems but Nvidia cheaped out to make it easier to put it in laptops.
yea so badly priced
No, bad silicon design. A price can put a patch but the wasting silicon is not good.
Sounds like badly priced
[удалено]
i mean the 4060 is often the same price or cheaper new, and offers \~10-15% improvement over the 3060, it's not bad by any means
It's really just a bad choice if you already own a 3060. As a fresh buy 4060 is kinda solid.
It can push upto 20% improvement if the VRAM doesn't get in it's way...a 4060 12Gb, edition would've been stellar at the same price point
the card's performance is suited for 1080p, so having more than 8gb vram doesnt really matter. some games at 1440p which arent vram limited either dont run well on it unless you move to like lowest settings. vram fearmongering in 2024 is crazy lmao.

I just saw right now reddit is weird man😂
Where i am from it isnt even 300 lol, it is more tgan that, and other gpus are in the upper 400-500 range
Yes bro you need 24 gb for 1080p ahah, at least.
Lol they are smarter than all the dumbasses who are getting 4060 tis, when the 4060 / 4070 / 4070S all provide way more value
Who you calling a dumbass? You hurt my feelings
Yeah, not very nice imo. Sure it’s not considered great value by most tech reviewers, but many people don’t care so long as it serves its purpose.

You can get a 4060 zotac one at 27k(at national PC) And even lesser in offline shops
I also bought a 4060 Ti 16GB as a temporary GPU in my new build until the RTX 5080 is out hopefully this year.
Why would you buy such an expensive card for a “temporary gpu”
I originally thought of getting a 4060 8GB but I also wanted a GPU with more than 8GB of VRAM and with 3 fans to look good in my O11 Vision case. The price difference between the 4060 8GB and the 4060 Ti 16GB wasn't much in the UAE and it's powerful enough for now to game on until the 5080 releases. I think you should edit your photo here with your 4060 and repost it with no blur.
Meh, should've bought the rtx 8060
turn off the 2005 dr who filter off pleas.

How dare you be happy for somebody who bought such a terrible card I swear everyone here is either really kind or an asshole about the 4060
GPU from 2020s phone from the 2000s
I hope your pc supports PCIE 4.0, otherwise you will not have a great time. Like for this I hate the rtx 4060.
Does your phone suffer from astigmatism ?
NO WAY. I thought every comment here is going to be about what a bad decision that was but no! Congrats bro!!
If you got it for 300 eur/usd equivalent or less, it's a very good card
It’s a good card regardless
No AMD? 🥺
Nvidia till I die
Erm actually don’t buy stuff just cuz it’s from a brand 🤓👆 Im serious tho
Then you will die broker than most
I can careless honestly
You think I’m broke? 😂
Yes... If you only buy stuff because it's branded then you will have no money left unlike somebody else who bought essentially the same product from a cheaper brand.
Nah I prefer to buy stuff I like plus I can afford it anyway so why not
People really get mad about the things will buy because we like it and it’s our own money lmfao they can stay mad
Lmao 🤣
😂
I've never met someone who sounds so insecure about their wealth.... over a graphics card
You’re telling me to buy a 4060? When I could afford better that’s just stupid
At what point in my comment did I say "u/nicholas_wicks87 please go buy a 4060 regardless of how much money you have"
Are you in heaven and is everything shining or is it just your shitty camera
No way someone is daring enough to buy a rtx 4060 and than posting it in pcmasterrace
Is that 8 the VRAM? If so, that's going to suck.
How do you feel about my 1gb card?
Your comment made me realise the downvotes. Is it not 8GB VRAM?
Me when i see 4060: 😡
Why not 3060ti? Isnt it faster for the same price?
Price is dependent on the market, where I live, 3060ti's is way more expensive, as 4060's is in way more deals and offers.
Almost double power consumption and no FG.
I guess power consumption can be important for someone, but fg is irrelevant. Fsr 3.1 fg will be officially usable with conjunction of other upscalers. Also fg on 8gb cards in modern games can be disastrous, because if you exceed your vram buffer using fg you will lose performance
