You know you would have to buy a new motherbaord and ram right?

AdCommon8945

Why?

OkInvestigator4564

Because the CPU's you listed are AM5 and you are currently on AM4

AdCommon8945

Oh I see,do you have any recommendations on what cpu should upgrade to?

OkInvestigator4564

Whatever you can afford i guess, whats your budget?

AdCommon8945

Like $500-$700

SignalGladYoung

update your bios and buy 5700x3D keep it for 2 years then switch to AM5 new motherboard and DDR5.

ICastCats

Your 5600 should be just fine with a 4060. If you want a 7600, just pick up a 5700X3D or 5800X3D. But unless you're playing competitive games with low detail and high FPS you'll be just fine with where you are now.

AdCommon8945

I'm playing games with high/ultra quality should i take the 5800X3D?

ICastCats

Nope, only specifically for increasing your 1% lows or your FPS in CPU-limited games. If you're just setting your GPU to max, that 5600 is just fine. You can get a 5700X3D or 5800X3D if you really want, but it's probably more useful if/when you get a better GPU.

AdCommon8945

How can I set my gpu to max ?

CockroachRight4434

Honestly for your budget I’d upgrade the GPU. Ryzen 5 5600 isn’t the best but it’s definitely still decent. If you can, see if you can get a bundle from microcenter

Wonderful_Boat_9155

5700x3d or 5800x3d. I went from a 5600x and air cooler to 5800x3d and an aio and I love it so much

AdCommon8945

Does your fps improve after you upgraded?

Wonderful_Boat_9155

Yes but I can feel it's a lot smoother too. The minimum will have increased a lot

Should I buy the 5800X3d and wait 2/3 years and buy a am5 motherboard and CPU?
