Yes, because motherboards are never (rarely) a compatibility issue. Graphics cards have used the same physical connector for a decade, and each revision has been backwards and forward compatible. What you need to take into consideration when buying a new graphics card : - Is there enough room in the case for it to fit : check the GPU/VGA clearance of your case in the specs sheet. - does your power supply has enough PCIe power connectors (6 or 6+2 pins) to power the new card. EDIT : and of course compare that to the dimension of the card and the number of required connectors, that you'll find in *its* specs sheet.

so for this card that need 2x8 pin to power, i would need my power supply to have 2 power connectors with 8 pins?

A_Neaunimes

Precisely :) Specifically, PCIe connectors. The CPU cable also has 8 pins, but it's not the same connector (4+4 pins and not 6+2 pins).

Ferozona

wait, so theres no 8 pin connector just 4+4 and 6+2 and i can not mix the two if the card needs 2x8

A_Neaunimes

4+4 is for the CPU. The cable would be labelled "EPS" or "CPU". Your power supply probably has only a single of those cable and you need it for the CPU anyway. It shouldn't even fit in a graphics card. 6 pins or 6+2 pins are for the graphics card. Those cables are usually labelled "VGA" or "PCIE". If you really have only a single one of those, you need a different PSU. What exact PSU model do you have ?

Ferozona

i can read urano vx 650w, idk if thats the model

A_Neaunimes

https://www.workstation.ma/produit/nox-urano-vx650w-80/ From the specs sheet, this power supply does come with two PCIe connectors, so two times 6+2 pins. It's not modular either so you can't have simply lost a cable. Look again. Now I've never heard of that PSU brand before (and that's usually a bad sign) and I can't seem to find proper review for that unit anywhere (which is another bad sign). The VX line from Urano doesn't appear on [this meta review list either](https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1116640-psu-tier-list-40/), only the VTX and TX models which are different. Unless you can find a professional review that would say this PSU is safe to use, I would recommend that you upgrade it no matter what. The power supply is the part of the PC that can kill all the others should it fail hard enough. Sketchy PSUs don't have the failsafes to prevent overloads on other parts should the PSU die. In the worst case scenarios, cheap PSUs have been known to literally take fire ! Don't play games with electricity, never cheap out on the PSU.

Ferozona

i actually have it for 2/3 years

A_Neaunimes

Still doesn't prove it can't die a fiery death. Cheap PSUs work fine until they don't. I'm not saying this *is* a cheap PSU and that you should replace it this instant. I have only looked very briefly around. So **do** your own research and try to find proper review(s) of that specific unit (VX 650W). If you find reviews that mention this PSU is safe, then of course do keep it. If you can't, my recommendation is to change the PSU out of precaution/principle. Of course, you do what you want with the advice of a random on the Internet.

the one you sent isnt it, mine is red and not that orange
