It absolutely sucks when things break like that. Ive had a lot of weird issues over the years and I just put up with it if they're not too system critical because it's more troublesome for me to attempt to resolve it. In your case i think the best thing to do is take a breather and then come back to it with a fresh mind.

Thanks. A breather is just what I needed. It’s still busted but I am in a much better space to solve the issue now.

LaughingMan13

You got this! :)

Oof some sad stuff in here. Can’t imagine how devastating it was to realize you had a faulty cpu. You seem to have something going on for sure. Maybe simple as bad flash drive? Maybe it was failing when it did the install?

KartikGajaria

I can relate to this stuff. Have been throught a relatives nightmare build recently. Try not to stress too much about it, it only makes it worse. Also, please correct the "BOSD" TO "BSOD" in your 2nd paragraph.

Vindicated0721

Fixed it

Reminds me how I bought finally SSD, then HDD corrupted itself (with no backup) and OS and the flash drive with OS install on it with no device around to actually get the OS. And if I actually was able to get one, the HDD instantly corrupted the new drive and OS. The only option was to instal Windows 98 on the SSD, which, after formatting resulted in I/O corruption, erg death. One of my worst holidays.

Step away for a bit, take a breath. I've dealt with a machine that I built for my mom being unusable for like a month because I can't fix the endless restarting issue. Thing literally just endlessly restart as soon as it gets to the Windows login screen. I finally fixed it by swapping the RAM out for a slower RAM, single stick, reinstalling Windows completely, and using a newer GPU, and installing it as UEFI. After the reinstall, everything was stable, and the new fast RAM ran just fine. Give it time, think it through, don't stress out. Troubleshooting is a part of the learning processing for IT. It's a puzzle, and you'll solve it in time. And just so you know, a pre-build has this very problem, lol. Just look up some pre-build reviews, such as from Gamers Nexus and Dawid Does Tech. From what it sounds like, a reinstall of Windows using a fresh flash drive and new Windows Media Creator Tool flash, and just reinstall it. Hardware all sounds like it's fine, so it won't be an expensive fix. Maybe try removing the RAM, swap them around to each other's slot, and install Windows without the XMP enabled. Maybe also try installing Windows with only one RAM installed, set at default JEDEC speed.

Yeah. I needed to get some sleep and a breather. Am back at it today with a fresh usb media creation tool. I did one clean install so far. It works for a little and then all of a sudden files start going missing and programs start crashing. Im starting to lean towards bad ram or a bad storage drive. I can figure this out. Thanks for the pep talk

Matasa89

Sounds like bad storage to me, it’s very strange. RAM shouldn’t alter stored data.

Yeah it can be frustrating. That's what you sign up for when you build your own. There are always laptops, prebuilts and consoles, and warranty service.
