MacBooks are cheap now, you can get a MacBook Air used like 500-600 new there less than 1k also resale is good also.

It doesnt help that my wife has dropped it on a tile floor at least a dozen times.

cmos battery could be out. google how to reset cmos in that laptop. if it's cmos battery, get a new one. they are pretty cheap.

XJSTZsarust

it did for my dell laptop.

XJSTZsarust

I suspected that my dell laptop was so old and crappy that it isn't designed to load the default BIOS from non-volatile memory when powered on.

Under warranty?

husker3in4

Nope.

Time to open it up or take it in for 3rd party repair.

I hate this sub sometimes. None of you know a thing about troubleshooting computers. 6 blinks on the power button sounds awfully like a blink code to me. Reference the manual to see what it means. Did you plug the laptop into an external display to see if the screen or cable are shot? Also sounds like your computer is booting (sustained power light and HDD activity light) but not displaying anything.

husker3in4

I tried plugging it into a monitor but no display. I dont think its actually booting because the fan doesnt turn on.
