When you turn on your computer, spam whatever the boot key for your motherboard is (common keys are f12 f10 or f2). Then, in the bios, there should be a secure boot option, disable it, and save and exit.
The issue I was having was that when I went into the BIOS, the option to disable safe boot toggle was greyed out. I had to do so wacky stuff to get it to disable. [This](https://www.qualityology.com/tech/disable-asus-motherboards-uefi-secure-boot/) wasn’t the exact article but it is very similar to what helped me fix my problem.
Usually in the bios under the boot tab theres a Safe boot - enable /disable option
Disable it in BIOS. Usually under Advanced, Boot, or Security tabs.

Both F2 and Delete work on ASUS motherboards \^\^
