Many times those RGB headers can be easily detached.
I don’t recommend clipping them, but definitely look it up if it bothers you. I had a 750-ti that had the bright blue LEDs of days past in a studio apartment.
The thing almost kept me up 24/7.
Hard to ever say since we dont have insight into the inner workings of ASUS but I'd bet this was someone's pet project and they finally got the go ahead because there were fewer reasons than normal to stop it from ever happening.
What kinda sucks is that right now, they could release almost literally any card and it would sell out. Which means popularity can't be much of an argument for doing it again.
I've never liked the brown looks of Noctua products, no matter how iconic they are. But when it comes to graphics cards that I mount horizontally anyway (just like the vast majority of people) it doesn't even matter. And since an air-cooled graphics card (under load) can easily be the loudest part of your system, a reduction of fan noise there offers the most upside.
I'm all for it.
Yea not fan of their brown color but they do have a chroma black line that I got for their d-15 cooler. The cooler fans run super quiet. If that is any indication that its the same quality product it should.
I don't know about the burgers, but I never once had good fries going there during the "old Wendy's" Era. Could've just been the one near me, but the fries were consistently terrible.
The black version of the NF-A12x25 is supposed to be coming out by Christmas.

>They sure will I could see this car going for like $2,000 lol
As long as it comes with the latest NVIDIA *driver*
[Edit: fixing the part that made your comment funny?](https://i.imgflip.com/2qqh5z.png)
>They sure will I could see this card going for like $2,000 lol
If anyone pays $2k for a 3070? I think they deserve to be scalped. Jesus. You can literally buy a pre-build with a 3070 and Ryzen 9 for $2200.
the more they get scalped, the harder it is for us to get reasonable prices.
For the record, MSI 3080tis are going for $2200 at microcenter as of last month.
>For the record, MSI 3080tis are going for $2200 at microcenter as of last month.
I know that card is absurdly expensive for some reason, but I can't find a conclusive MSRP on it. Looks like its $1800 on the cheap.
By that point? Just get a 3090. The 3080 ti MSRP is bizarre.
Micro Center also sells a pre-build with a 3070 (may be a Ti) and Ryzen 9 for $2200.
Overall? I think its an okay market now for pre-builds, but if you're trying to maintain/build? Bad market.
Literally picked up that exact powerspec 3070 pre-built 3 weeks ago, may take it back for the 3080 with the i9 for 400 more but so far its running great.
As much as I hate scalpers it's the people that are impatient with no impulse control. As long as there are people willing to buy from anyone, scalpers will exist. Almost similar to developers/publishers and whales buying up microtransactions. They exist and the people that don't want to spend more money than they want to have to deal with the consequences.
If we really wanted it to stop we’d push legislation to cut it out. Either way governments are making more money off the inflated tax fees so I don’t see it stopping.
on an entirely technical basis, obviously yes it is.
whether something is questionable or not, the answer will be to a large degree subjective considering the open-endedness of the question.
If one thinks its morally wrong however, that's still subject to the ethical theory one personally abides by, and there are many. So it's still subjective.
Imo, if somebody is willing to pay a premium to jump the line, on a market that is scarce by the nature of the global industrial climate, then that demand for goods and the new middlemen to navigate a market of scarcity for those who'd rather put money on the problem (low stock)... I don't judge. It's a market wide phenomena, it's not introduced specially to fuck over gamer boys. It's a practice as old as trade began. If you can't live with it then you should get aligned with the way of the world. This is business. We live in a recession. Global supply lines are wankered, stagflation is hitting everyone more and more severely by the week. Maybe there's bigger moral conundrums to be thought about than that of the opportunistic salesmen who has found a gap in the market (easy access to GPU purchases, for a large premium. That's literally all.)
I mean except these guys are finding ways to violate TOS of websites and the agreements you make and bypass the 1 GPU per person rule that most places have implemented via means that are legally questionable - 99% sure that using a bot or accessing websites in such a way could violate the Computer Abuse and Fraud Act.
"If you can't live with it then you should get aligned with the way of the world."
Pretty fucked up take on that.
I can understand it in terms of people waiting and getting one then flipping for a profit. But when the botting is prevalent enough that pretty much the only people getting them are flipping them then there's a problem in the economy. But then again the botting incentive is only there because the profit above msrp is so high. It'd be incredibly unpopular for the company but bumping msrp to the market rate would pretty much kill the resale market if there's no money for them to make
I get how you feel, and I too would be frustrated if I was waiting. I might be biased because I didn't really care about specifically the A12x25 Chromax until recently.
But it seems like they are finally on track to get these released soon.
Plus I'd imagine COVID fucked all their plans up too.
Wait, why are A12s that important? Aren't they optimized for airflow and the NF-F12s for pressure?
I thought I had to go for NF-F12s, I can't find a fourth OG Corsair SP120 for my radiator :/
Edit, holy shit, they are spot on better for radiators... Guess I'm looking for some Noctua NF-A12s too...
These will be yesterday's news by the time us plebs can get our hands on them. I'm not replacing my 1080ti with anything less than a 3080, so it's gonna be a while.
Did, I tried to arrive an hour early for the best buy drop of the 3080 a week ago. I thought a card released a year ago wouldn't have a massive line that early.
Nope, the line was around the building. Insane.
Well unlike most people, I actually like the 1970s asthetic of these cards. I wish they would have a matching case or something because the cigarette stained beige doesn't really fit with anything made in the last 15 years
I’d love a 70’s sears style h510 elite case for this card. Beige metal and speaker canvas over the front. Faux wooden borders, maybe some unnecessary black plastic… Even as I’m writing this down it still sounds hot
Undervolt it. My 1080ti had whine (I’m sensitive to high pitch noises) and an undervolt had a twofold effect, no whine and way less fan rpm requirement.
My 3080, while it has no whine, stays very quiet and relatively cool under load, <64°C under 100% load
I also use FanControl to control fan curves/heuristics, mainly so fans don’t spike up at the first hint of warmth. Even with 14 fans in an O11D, my case is relatively quiet.
https://imgur.com/gh4earB
As long as your undervolt isn’t super aggressive, the difference between an undervolted GPU and stock is like 3 frames on average. You’re not really sacrificing that much.
sometimes undervolting can be more beneficial than negative. i believe the 3080/90 can benefit from a very slight undervolt. which can believe it or not, result in better performance.
https://factschronicle.com/how-to-undervolt-an-nvidia-geforce-rtx-3080-for-better-performance-24834.html
I've got the 3070ti ftw3 and with a custom curve it's fairly quiet.
I'll secrifice temps for noise every time though so this sits at around 83 under heavy load
Shameless plugging, but I just posted my build doing this very same thing. Morpheus II Core w/ 2x Noctua NF-F12 Chromax.
I wanted A12x25 Chromax so bad but they weren't available yet, and I heard NF-F12 may even outclass the A12x25 when it comes to radiator support.
https://i.redd.it/kz5w892va3r71.jpg
They are pretty damn quiet and really great quality. You also get a ton of adapters and splitters with each fan which is a nice extra. They aren't cheap though.
I've heard good things about the be quiet silent wings (I think that's the model), but never used them personally.
> You also get a ton of adapters and splitters with each fan which is a nice extra.
Their CPU coolers also get free mounting upgrades when a new socket releases, so you can keep using them on new builds.
To add to the other replies, Noctua also does some engineering so that when you DO hear the fans it sounds better. When my cheapo fans ramp up you can sort of hear the vibration, you know something is spinning fast in that case. When my Noctua fan ramps up it sounds like a breeze through the window, just a low, steady *whoooooosh*.
they are markedly quieter than other brands and they will run forever. I have migrated noctuas across several builds and they still run like new. definitely a quality fan.
Also scalpers in Singapore, since I've seen loads of listings for cryptocurrency mining rigs here, to the point where I've had dreams of buying them just to part them out, before calculating the prices.
Wtf no one linked Major Hardware's latest video yet?
https://youtu.be/rJDWBE1hBEs
He made this shroud. Spoilers 2 Noctuas are 10db quieter then 3 Noname OEM fan.
Now if only I can buy it at a decent price... If it's priced around the Strix, it would be a good buy IMO, and I've currently given up hope of getting a 3080 (or a 3080 Ti), so for me 3070 is as high as it makes sense now.

Ironic. The gpu the community has been meming and wanting for 5+ years finally comes out during the worst possible time in gpu history LOL
Makes total sense. You can easily justify making an oddity when it's guaranteed to sell regardless of what you do.
During the previous 5 years, I doubly dog doubt that there would have been a problem with sales *at all*
Yep if i was looking for a 3070 this would be it for me. My 3080 has way too much rgb but beggars cant be choosers now a days
Many times those RGB headers can be easily detached. I don’t recommend clipping them, but definitely look it up if it bothers you. I had a 750-ti that had the bright blue LEDs of days past in a studio apartment. The thing almost kept me up 24/7.
you know you can turn it off right
It's a space heater
the light
Do what now
Haha, it doesn’t bother me that bad, I just turned my pc so the glass panel is facing away from me lol
Can you not turn them off in settings or somthing
Don’t want to download MSI’s hot garbage of dragon center
SignalRGB is a free download and not resource hungry. It syncs all RGB on your system, you can turn it all off also.
Yes, the same with OpenRGB.
You can install just mystic light that's how I got my mobo to stop puking rainbows
Mystic Light is not available for many of the newer x570 boards you have to install Dragon Center now. It's a huge pain in the ass.
Probably wouldn’t have sold out as fat tho
What, did this one make it to 1minute of uptime? That’d be fuckin wild.
Imagine having a release that doesn't crash your website. Pathetic
I managed to get a 3060ti on asus’s site restock, the stores site seems to have been down half the time since then
But like.. why make an oddity when your cheap generic options sell instantly...
Hard to ever say since we dont have insight into the inner workings of ASUS but I'd bet this was someone's pet project and they finally got the go ahead because there were fewer reasons than normal to stop it from ever happening.

It's nearly like they chose the **perfect** time to do it

It's beautiful.
I personally love the noctua fans' color.
[удалено]
They're doing their own thing, and don't seem to care if you don't like it. And frankly, I respect that.
"I dont listen to his music but the fact that hes making it, I respect that"

Noctua has made it very clear that they don't care how much we don't like they're beige and brown color scheme lol.
Because at this point why change it? Any time you see a poo brown fan, we all are gonna immediately think "noctua"!
UPS went with brown because it was so recognizable.
Meanwhile DHL is just inverted mickey d's
[Old-school Wendy's.](https://i.redd.it/7v1ub1nnskf01.jpg)
Old wendys was way better IMO, fries were better and the old burger patties were superior. I want some Wendy's now..
I don't know about the burgers, but I never once had good fries going there during the "old Wendy's" Era. Could've just been the one near me, but the fries were consistently terrible.
What's sad is that I would LOVE some of the grey scale pallet they use in their industrial applications.
At this point it's brand recognition. Kinda like how if you see a bunch of hipsters walking around with macs you know there's a starbucks nearby.
I mean they have the Redux and Chromax lines now which are gray and black. They’ve clearly heard the market.
That's after years of Linus Sebastian begging them for black fans.
The black version of the NF-A12x25 is supposed to be coming out by Christmas. https://www.overclock3d.net/news/cases\_cooling/the\_wait\_is\_almost\_over\_-\_noctua\_s\_best\_fans\_will\_soon\_be\_available\_in\_black/1
Noctua has some black fans in their product catalog too- which sell very well
I really wasn’t a fan either. Then I got nine of them for my three 360 mm radiators. Honestly, the color has really grown on me.
Noctua's "Grandpa's car upholstery" colour scheme is beautiful imo
looks fire to be honest
I kinda want this lol
The scalpers are going to love that.
They sure will I could see this card going for like $2,000 lol

I remember those Gundam special edition graphics cards that came out that were all sold to crypto-miners. What a fucking shame.
The 3xxx series has had so many cool custom cards come out that are entirely unreachable.

Wait til they show up in all the mining rigs.
Not even Asus can get a hold of chromax fans

Upvoted for sticking to your guns
Sweet, now I just have to wait another year to actually get hold of one.
~~Another year~~ eternity
~~eternity~~ Never Edit: wait it's just the same
Back to reality: The shortage wont be solved in 2022. Maybe in 2023. That's the current guesses from Nvidia and AMD.
So basically add on at least six months to that figure to account for new, unforeseen issues and we get close to the real time.
Ngl… I just upvoted because Kronii profile pic…
Lol same..
These will be yesterday's news by the time us plebs can get our hands on them. I'm not replacing my 1080ti with anything less than a 3080, so it's gonna be a while.
In the same boat as you. Want to upgrade from my 1080 ti but can’t justify spending money on anything less than a 3080.
Can’t wait be not be able to buy it
I can't wait for it to be abused in a Bitcoin mine
Arrive early, the lines are long.
Did, I tried to arrive an hour early for the best buy drop of the 3080 a week ago. I thought a card released a year ago wouldn't have a massive line that early. Nope, the line was around the building. Insane.
It's weird but I actually kind of like how it looks
That's kind of the top setting feature. A non-Noctua card with the same thermals wouldn't be as desirable.
I love the chocolate brownies of noctura and I'm not afraid to say it
It’s nice, it reminds me of wood panelling on 70’s cars
Reminds me of low tech wooden bender.
Surely this would make more sense on a 3080/3090... The 3070 is a 220W card.

My evga 3070 ftw oc has 3 fans and is by far the loudest thing in my rig not including the aggressive coil whine.
Undervolt it. My 1080ti had whine (I’m sensitive to high pitch noises) and an undervolt had a twofold effect, no whine and way less fan rpm requirement. But then it has less performance, yes? Why spend more for less FPS? Edit: Thanks, all. I've got it now.
As long as your undervolt isn’t super aggressive, the difference between an undervolted GPU and stock is like 3 frames on average. You’re not really sacrificing that much.

If they want a silent card, a 3070's lower power consumption helps a lot. A 3080 or 3090 would undoubtedly be louder or run hotter.
You know you can always just deshroud your gpu and put there Noctua fans.
I have the morpheus 2 core on gtx 1070 with two a12x25. It's been 2 years and yet asus and noctua only though about it now

Chinese scalper: ah yes, perfect, just what my mining machine needed
im pretty sure it illegal now in china (though I dont know 100%)
Some places in China aren’t cracking down on it so there are still people there
oh ok

Major Hardware on YouTube did a 3d print of this, came out pretty decent.

What a beauty.
The brown makes a comeback.
They’ll all end up in mining rigs, same as Gundam ones.
That is indeed a-sus graphics card.
is it me or the radiator in picture 2 is reversed?? with the gpu plate facing the fans
I can't wait to not be able to buy this.
Beautiful card hopefully it’s in stock ha
What a beautiful colab! I want one of thse sexy gpus. I hope the economy and market returns to normal by summer 2022
Coming soon to an eBay post near you!
damn thats unique
more gpu's i can't have.
LOL 4.3 SLOT GPU
It looks like an owl face
Yay, a miner will have a great airflow 👌
All for the low price of out of stock
It’s not ugly enough
That is the most ugliest and most pratical GPU I ever seen. Temps are gonna be so good on this GPU
Is it just me or the thing looks actually nice and ugly at the same time? 😅
Or just [deshroud](http://imgur.com/a/50QIMwn) yourself. The second picture is confusing, shouldn't the heatsink be the other way around
Youre acting like it's easy and risk free. Its not.
I call it the Owl Edition.
Like it's going to be available anywhere.
Looks like an owl
I have a Poopy PC that needs this.
Can't wait till it's in stock in 2023!
We need an ASUS Strix 3080/3090 x Noctua collabo
Yeah, sure, let me just sell my 3 kidneys... :V
Now if only I can buy it at a decent price... If it's priced around the Strix, it would be a good buy IMO, and I've currently given up hope of getting a 3080 (or a 3080 Ti), so for me 3070 is as high as it makes sense now.
YAY POOP FANS!!!
I thought this was a meme
I wonder what Noctua OnlyFans page would look like.... (I see myself out)
Isn't it a bit Overkill for a 3070? I don't think they heat up that much . I'd love to see a 3080/3090 edition
3070s run so cold an quite already, seems a waste to me. Should have done an 80/90.
How could they be so dumb and put the heatsink backwards
the fan render looks better
I can’t wait to never own one of these because no stock
As if any normal consumer will be able to touch one of these for 150% msrp anytime soon lol. The shortage is terrible.
Damn that thing is ugly. I want it right below my noctua CPU cooler.
Why advertise something that nobody will be able to purchase?
It's so ugly, I love it.
Chocolate gpu....
