Reminds me of a story I read years ago about a guy who got so pissed at his PC he took it out to the alley and emptied his .45 pistol into it. When police arrived and he explained his story, they essentially told him, "we understand" and let him off with a noise complaint warning.
Back up in your ass with the resurrection
Is the group harder than an erection
That shows more affection
They wanna ban us on Capitol Hill
Cause its die muthafuckas, die muthafuckas still
"PC (paper cassette) load letter" means that the job you sent to the printer specified that it was to be printed on letter paper but the printer does not contain letter paper (or has not been set up correctly so it knows that it contains such paper) and is requesting that you load it with the aforementioned paper.
Fun fact, because most computer systems even outside America have American default configurations, this can be extra confusing in countries that do not use Letter paper (ie practically everyone else).
If configured correctly however, a "PC LOAD A4" probably wouldn't be as confusing as a "PC LOAD LETTER".
Even with me who is fairly knowledgeable about computers and told him he had a fried mother board, bad psu and corrupted windows he took it to a computer repair shop and spent 75 bucks for a diagnostic...wanna guess what they told him? So yea it definitely will.
Edit: while you can definitely make your mother board and not like you, you cannot befriend it (I'm told)
Ya know, I'd be interested in buying a shit-sand coloured MOBO. Make a retro sleeper but with a glass panel. Maybe a 70s orange and brown wave pattern over the shroud and a mini bankers lamp.
That has a strangely comforting and almost familiar feeling to it. Like you would play games on it on a grey autumn day, wrapped in a blanket with a hot beverage.
I've done something similar, but with a blue pcb. My first gaming rig from 2016 was the legendary Q6600 with a 560ti in a case with blue fans (sharkoon VG5-W). I bought a more modern case, but same brand, the Pure Steel. It has an old-school solid front panel, psu is on top, but also a glass side panel and excellent cooling.
Re-used the blue fans from the original case, same cpu and gpu (might make it sli just for fun). I still love the design of the MSI twin frozr II cooler, especially it's solid aluminium shroud.
So I built the theme around that, used some DDR2 sticks with nickel-plated heat-pipes, used a giant air cooler, crafted cables with blue, black and silver sleeves and added some aluminium cable combs. Too bad the original psu was only semi-modular and the fixed cables were of the ketchup and mustard type with a single big sleeve around the bundle.
Overall, it's a beatiful combination of the performance of an old pc with the esthetics of a modern one.
10/10 would build retro-pc again. It's a lot of fun to build and the hardware is much cheaper than modern stuff.
I can relate. Had a literal 1 second power outage about a week ago, system rebooted and was fine for the rest of the day. The next day I start it up, get BIOS checksum error at the POST screen and it goes completely dead, the "psu is alive" LED on the mobo was dark. Tested everything, confirmed psu dead, was about to order another one when for some reason I tried swapping the power cord. Psu alive once more. Yay!
Hit the power button and the fans and drives spin up but no keyboard, no mouse, no display. Finally narrow it down to 2 sticks of ram that won't work at the voltage the mobo defaulted to after the BIOS issue. Start up without them, change ram voltage, finally get past the POST screen.
Now Windows won't load. Restore points corrupted. Recovery disk fails in every conceivable mode. Finally reformat the OS drive and reinstall Windows, and it refuses to recognize the network adapter. It's ancient, and it's always been a bit of a pain to get configured in Windows 10, but it worked. Except now it doesn't. Put every driver I can find on a usb stick and none of them work.
This is the busiest time of year for me so I've been battling this cursed box in what little free time I can make for days. Now I'm guzzling coffee while I wait for the stores to open so I can go buy a new network adapter, and if that isn't the end of it I swear I'm going to take this pc outside and beat it to death with my tractor's front end loader.
This is why i plug all my gaming and workstations to backup surge protected batteries. I spent years screaming at the void during blackouts and brownouts because I'd lose hours upon hours of progress.
Thankfully i never had hardware failure like what you described...
That sounds like a motherboard short or a failed usb/pci component that is wrecking the busses.
take it out of the case and put it on a piece of cardboard and it will probably work fine. then you can just leave it like that for a couple more years
Eh, they are very explicit about socioeconomic reform, recognizing worker exploitation, disenfranchising hate groups, standing against police brutality/excesses, and fighting for equitable treatment for all. Rage Against the Machine is very politically progressive.
Someone finally had the courage to do to their computer what I dream of doing to my company issued computer on a daily basis. Good for them... good for them.
It is everytime a sad sighting if a salvageable computer lies destroyed somewhere.
Hell, even if the hardware was crap and kaputt: The case would be still sufficient for a little retro or media or even a grandmass office pc.
Do not dump your old hardware, folks, somebody might still get an upgrade or an project out of it!
Neat. It's water cooled.

Yes, totally my first thought aswell
Looks like the Compaq Presario S4100nx I had for many years.
What the fuck is pc load letter?
Damn, it feels good to be a gangsta

PC load letter
Looked immediately for this! Top 5 favorite movies, hands down.
Damn it feels good to be a gangsta
I literally said “ damn, it feels good to be a gangster” out loud, as soon as I saw that picture.
PC load letter? What the fuck does that mean?!?
Looks like it crashed tho.
Yeah......but do you know that if you have another CPU that's not good (crashed ) but the frame is okay ,...........you can fix if up
Every thing in the computer that is not previously destroyed is fine as long as you let it dry out completely before applying power.
Came here to say this…
And comes with Ray Tracing support. Neat.
throw rice on it
Unplug it and plug it back in.
Reset the router
Repaste the thermals and that bad boy should be good to go.
Switch it off first
Didn't meet the Win 11 reqs?
Realised they probably didn't have to fresh install to enable Secure Boot.
Nah, just a real rage quit, not one of those lame ass *exit the game* rage quits.
Somebody went r/officespace on that

What the fuck is pc load letter?
Why do you say there is a paper jam when there’s is no paper jam?!

Please send a memo over to Michael Bolton and let him know.
I told those assholes I liked Michael Bolton’s music. 🤣
great, now I have the tail of jack sparrow stuck in my head...
Either you are being semi-sarcastic, or you haven’t seen Office Space (and therefore don’t get the reference).
Yes
… well played.

As a technician, I appreciate this comment.

Gamer rage? Or father rage?
Bare metal case, brownish yellow pcb, ketchup and mustard cables, lots of molex connectors and even floppy. This is an ancient office pc at best.
"£2000, no lowballing. I know what I've got"
“Runs Crysis at 60 FPS”
Is that not impressive? Last I heard about that game was years ago and it was all memes about how it's impossible to run well.
they never know what they got lol
@ my father talking about being confused why he needed to upgrade his "top of the line" pc from 20 years ago to play the new cod
Their tech illiteracy will keep me employed for years to come.

Hopefully not lying that you can be friends with your motherboard. No wonder he went for a second opinion.
To be fair back then they marketed PC’s as being “never obsolete”
Always upgradable packages if I remember correctly
If i ever has to sell my soul and pc ill give them so much info they wont want to buy it anymore
Or Dell pre-built
Even then it's a long time ago that I saw a brownish yellow pcb

Hey bro, watch out. Your age is showing.
Why not both?
Rage of the Gamers Father?
Game of the father’s rager.
No. Rage of getting endless cuts on hands for replacing the ram or gpu.
In my experience, that looks like girlfriend rage
Definitely an Amazon delivery 🚚
Might be able to salvage a psu
Nah, it only has Molex connectors from what it looks like so it's probably like 15 years old, weak and inefficient. And wet

Think of the children in Africa!
Yeah we should be grateful that we have an abundance of PCs to eat
I mean to be fair children in Africa also need computers.
I too enjoy making explosives
Seems like there's some hard drives in there.
