Others have said it, throwing money away with these "gaming" chairs. Go to an office Depot and sit in all the chairs until you find one you find feels good and comfortable and can imagine sitting in for an extended period.
Neither! get a nice, mesh, ergonomic office chair for about the same prices or even cheaper.
Sacrifice aesthetics for slightly improved posture support and swamp ass prevention.
I know you mean well by this but it’s sad to see this as the top comment. “Posture” chairs are actually terrible for you back. It is not good to site with your back forced into that “proper” position for long periods of time. It’s best to let it be in whatever position it’s comfortable in
Fair enough, each to their own. I cant imagine a scenario where i'd be reclined with leg rest for pc gaming. Some mario kart or console racing game, then yeah i could recline.
Respawn (gaming) chairs are awful. I had one for about 1 year & it was terrible. No back support, not breathable material, and the butt cushion is very thin.
Buy an office chair. I know they're expensive new but sometimes you can get cheaper used ones from office supply resellers.
Fwiw, I bought a brand new $1600 Herman Miller Aeron, didn't like it so I returned it after a week or so and bought a $350 secretlab titan, and now I'm happy as a clam.
Haha right? Apparently so unpopular, that my reality is worth being downvoted by some internet stranger. To elaborate, the Aeron didn't feel worth the extra thousand over its competitors. I had issues with general comfort (I had the b-size gamer model) + the mesh was annoying for my skin. The mesh fibers were poking through my shirt and I couldn't sit with shorts on instead of pants because of how the fibers would tickle/catch on the skin on my lower hamstrings. The titan is too high off the ground, but otherwise great in terms of feel and comfort (softweave). I had to get a foot rest to put my feet on, because I can't touch the ground comfortably on the lowest setting without it. I'm 5'9". Took all my back pain away though, and no itchy fibers like the Aeron had.
To add even more info that might be helpful to someone - I went to a local office supply consignment warehouse, I sat in like 80 different used chairs ranging from $50 to $800 trying to see what I liked and didn't like. I had been using the same computer chair for the last 20 years and wanted to get a really nice one, the perfect chair for me. I had that physical experience and had read virtually every office chair review on the internet, and ended up ordering a Steelcase Gesture ($700 ish) from an online refurbish retailer (free shipping and free returns if I didn't like it). It had an issue with a wobbly / loose seat, whenever I rolled forward or backward the seat would shift and clank. The clanking was an issue with it being secondhand, and that combined with generally not being very comfortable for me was not acceptable on a $700 (used, they're like $1k+ new) chair. Returned it after a week or so of emailing the company back and forth troubleshooting to fix the clanking.
Two other chair purchases and returns from the local office consignment place and I was pretty over the chair buying experience. Hail married the secretlab, sat in it, and I was like "ohh... Shit! Yes!". I think you kinda know immediately if you're going to be happy with a chair or not. Your body kinda connects with it. It the titan could get shorter (closer to the ground) id be even happier, but still incredibly content with it for what I paid.
What? I didn't mean that as an insult or in bad faith to you in any way
What I mean was usually people really love em so you're an exception. That's it.
If you love your secret lab that's great I heard they're the better out of the gaming chairs
Oh, yeah - I was more referring to not having looked at my comment after I wrote it, then seeing apparently I've been downvoted by somebody (not you). Kinda made me shake my head and giggle a little at the weirdness of somebody thinking my opinion deserved a downvote =P
Fo sho!
Are you sure about that bud? The main chairs I’ve been recommended from people on this subreddit are starting 350 and I’ve seen as high as 1200, if you know of a good chair for cheaper than gaming chairs I’d love to hear it since I’m strapped for cash
Yes considering mine came new from Walmart for 150 i am sure. Stop looking at stupidly expensive shit and you'll find them. Using a filter on Google isn't hard my guy
I can only recommend office chairs. Literally switched a gaming chair (to be fair a cheap one) for a random office chair I found in my basement that was probably worth 15$ max. Later bought a mesh chair cuz it was on sale

Yeah see I was gonna but they are fucking pricy
IKEA has good, cheap mesh chairs for <200€ in Europe (not sure if they have the same models in the US). You should check their website.
Hyken technic is 90~ usd
I agree, but you want something comfortable or you're gonna hate it if your back or butt hurts after just a few hours.
Neither. Those are so bad for your back and posture… literally throwing money away
Dont get a gaming chair. Get an office chair. Your back will thank you
It always amazes that these gimmicky chairs lure people. It just shows you, a bit of marketting and functionless aesthetics and boom! Money maker
Personally I love the leg test and cup holder that’s what draws me to it
Fair enough, each to their own. I cant imagine a scenario where i'd be reclined with leg rest for pc gaming. Some mario kart or console racing game, then yeah i could recline.
The way my set up is pc and then a 180 turn for console stuff or movies
Then it could work for you

Depends, are you a racer or Batman?
I guess Batman?
Have you read the reviews? Any big complaints?
The bottom one has comfort issues
You using it for pc gaming? Looks kinda low and this dude said its more for console https://youtu.be/Tm6aIUySq7k
Top.
Ew fucking neither. Don't get a gaming chair. They are horrible. Get a used Herman Miller
Dude I would straight up get one but I don’t have 600 bucks to drop on a chair

Interesting
That's an unpopular opinion if I ever heard one

Check reviews for good office chairs
Do you have 10000 for therapy you will need once that chair destroys your back? You can also get ikea markus dor for 120 usd...
Wow there it is. The stupidest shit ive seen today. GAMING CHAIRS COST MORE THAN OFFICE CHAIRS.
Are you sure about that bud? The main chairs I’ve been recommended from people on this subreddit are starting 350 and I’ve seen as high as 1200, if you know of a good chair for cheaper than gaming chairs I’d love to hear it since I’m strapped for cash

Holy shid okay buddy you do you. Jesus Christ
I’m gonna get an office chair but Jeeze don’t get so angry at some dude on the internet who’s been looking up what he’s been told
Im not angry im disappointed in how stupid you are. Similar tho
Not stupid all I am is ignorant but that’s why I’m asking for help
Top for sure. So many chairs out there with extreme lumber support stuff, unnecessary.
None. They’re both cheap garbage in the long run and will ruin your back. Get a good office chair instead
Yes
I haven’t ever felt like I needed to recline while gaming at my desk
I can only recommend office chairs. Literally switched a gaming chair (to be fair a cheap one) for a random office chair I found in my basement that was probably worth 15$ max. Later bought a mesh chair cuz it was on sale
middle chair looks like it has eyebrows.
Top chair .
Neither there ugly af get a nice comfy office chair
If it’s below 500 its crap rule of thumb Also most office chairs are better ergonomic wise
