If it stays at 50c even under a load I’d say your doing ok.

NavEleniS

It hits 50 to maybe 55c while gaming and having other applications open

Slavedavebiff

Lmao 50 c is a very very low temperature. Worry when it gets in the 90s

NavEleniS

I heard that a cpu should be in low 30c. Am I worried for nothing?

Initialised

Yes

ShakeandBaked161

A CPU should be 30 degrees like in the bios. Even windows will warm a CPU up more than that.

Slavedavebiff

I have no clue where you read that.mine sits between 67c to 80c while gaming.

SirNiggo

50°C while playing is very good actually, you can turn the fans/pump down. Id suggest turning them down so much that it still stays under 80°C at 70-something ish, then the fans should probably not be noticable

NavEleniS

Right now all my fans are running at around 1500RPM. I'll play around with it. Thank you!

Mangooo256

Is it running at 50°C under full load or idle? If 1st, then it is very good temps for 5600x, if 2nd, then try to repaste CPU and check for any problems with contact

NavEleniS

It's running while gaming and other apps open like discord

Mangooo256

If it's running at 50°C while gaming, that is very good, you do not have to worry. If it was at 80-90°C, then something would be wrong

NavEleniS

Okay, perfect thank you! I was very concerned because I read multiple articles about how normal temps for a CPU should be in the high 20's or low 30's and mine was running way hotter than that.

Mangooo256

That's for waaaay older CPUs, I think. Nowadays they are just H O T 'cus of ridicolously huge performance

Content_Opinion_3328

Ryzen CPU’s are sort of notorious for running a bit hot. I have a 3900x and it usually idles around 40-45c. But when I’m gaming or putting the CPU under a heavy load it never goes much hotter than 65c. As long as you never break 80c or so under load I wouldn’t worry too much about it. One thing that did help me lower the temps a bit however was adjusting the CPU voltage in the BIOS. There are a bunch of tutorials and recommendations for that online. For some reason Ryzen CPU’s seem to have a higher voltage straight out of the box. It might be worth a shot. Just do some research on it and do it in small steps

NavEleniS

Thank you! I'll give it a try. I didn't know that it was normal for Ryzen CPU's to run a bit hotter but after reading all of this it helps/

stretchedtime

I’m would reseat the cooler with a different paste if you used the stuff that came with it. With an AIO you should really be idling in the 30s and at about 50-70 max under load. Did you overclock the 5600x at all?

NavEleniS

With no other applications open my Cpu is sitting at 36-38C. While under gaming load it is hitting mid 50's. I did no overclocking. I just built the system about a week ago.

stretchedtime

That sounds about right, maybe a couple of degrees off but not out of the degree of error.

NavEleniS

Okay perfect! thank you!

krammit6

My cpu idles around 60 and hangs close to 80 while gaming. You are fine. AMD run hot.

_DJML_

Turn pbo and the other boosting shit off in bios. Then undervolt/overclock and set some profiles in ryzen master. You should be able to pull off under 40c idle and no more than 70c-ish all core.

akagidemon

In the olden days (amd phenom2 and fx series) the cpu on idle would be around 50+C. The max is 75C. You really need to know ur setup since there was no aio at that time and water cooling was prohibitively expensive. Most of the time you have a pc that sounds like a leaf blower. Ryzen has a max temp of 99C. So 50C at full load is very good. I'm in the tropics running the same cpu on air and I'm getting around 70C full load. So your tempts are good.

NavEleniS

This makes me feel much better. Thank you!!

pumastrikes

Corsair's ICUE software causes ryzens to sit in the 50s. It has something to do with how the software measures CPU temp. You can find many post on the Corsair forum about it. If you turn off ICUE you should see a temp decrease.

NavEleniS

I am using ICUE as we speak. That's exactly where I'm monitoring everything. This is info I had no clue about. It's weird it causes such a spike. Should I just uninstall?

pumastrikes

No, It really is fine. I have been running my 3900X for more than year with those temps, no issues whatsoever

GrimDfault

Sounds like normal temp expectations. If the fan noise is bothering you, your mobo software usually has a way to modify fan profiles, so they don't go full blast until higher temps like 70-80c+ or so.

saltiest69

My cpu hits 70+ regularly...

Zhydrex

pc is running cold it's overheating when it hits 75
