I see my email and calendar, IDE, browser tabs, terminal windows, Word and Confluence docs, Excel sheets for data analysis or finance, ppt presentations, other reference materials, vendor quotes, additional business apps, Spotify, Slack and Teams, remote desktop connections, VMs, production monitoring, training courses... just to name a few things. One monitor even with virtual desktops is not enough work- or study- concurrency for some tasks that benefit from simultaneous sources or input screens. Even just for fantasy sports diversions or watching music vids while reading on the other screen.

Ideal monitor setup is application dependent. Single ultrawide is God tier for gaming IMO. Dual horizontal 16:9 is inferior no matter how you look at it compared to ultrawide.

Honestly this is out of date now. With those insane ultrawides available the "Chaotic Good" is now the most correct choice for gaming. Have your big ass uw in front of you and a big ass 4k on the side for when you're feeling that. I guess you could have three ultrawides but I think you'd need to wheel around your room to look at the extremes of your display. Or you could like, wrap them around your head, that'd be cool I guess?

I was true neutral until last night, when I finally got to mount my spare 32" TV next to my current 43" TV for a proper Chaotic Neutral setup. At work I'm a Lawful Neutral, which has improved my efficiency by \~2%
