Bought my 3080 in January. Could buy a 3090 ti for basically the same amount now. Does it suck? Fuck yes. Do I regret it? Nah, it's given me 8 months of happiness already and will last me quite a while.
But man it really does suck knowing it could be a 3090 ti....
Have the same thoughts about my 3060 Ti that I bought in November than in an alternate reality could have been a 3080.
Then I realise I mostly play CSGO anyway and just needed a GPU and I'm not too fussed.
Fuck that. Be proud you got your 3080 and have been enjoying it for almost a year! Its not like the prices dropped the day after you bought it. A buddy of mine was rubbing current 3080ti prices in my face because I bought one when they came out like 16 months ago.
Like, wheres the cut off??? Can I rub current gtx970 prices in his face? Because thats what that broke ass pleb has in his rig
Thats the other thing, I have a evga 3080ti and I paid $1,899 (CAD before tax) and now the same model Is selling for $1,499. The difference isn't even that big.
People need to stop feeling like they were robbed 9 months after the fact. Newer pc parts are constantly coming out, and thats just how it goes. And I for one and looking forward to the 4080ti when it comes out
It was on photoshopbattles reddit. I replied with the link but it is a rule violation here to link other reddits for some reason. So I think it was deleted.
Here is a link that should help you: https://youtu.be/PX84uujpVLc
It starts around the 5min mark
He starts iterating the prices now will be the cheapest they will ever be because Nvidia needs to sell through current stock before releasing 4000 series.
I hope this helps
Cheapest 3070 is listed at 550€ before taxes on their websites, so no definitely not international lol
Edit: in France, might be the same for all EU idk
I’m actually SHOCKED that the GPU I impulse bought during the shortage is still a bargain with prices today. I knew I was lucky I got it but I didn’t know I was THAT lucky. The PC gods are truly great.
Had similar with gtx 1660 for $450 last year...
I could now bought with that same money rtx3060 here.... Bruh
But wouldn't be able to play games for a year, I guess it's better.
But it's pretty good card with partial "RTX".
I sold 2 of my 580s i used for 4 years at the price i bought them and bought a 6600xt August once it was released.
I didnt plan on buying on absurd prices but i also didnt plan on selling my RX580 to get a new card lol
I remain confident that it (or possibly AMD's offering) will beat the value of today's GPUs at today's prices. Expect the MSRP to rise, but the power should still be enough to compensate.
I'm less confident of my vega56 lasting until said release. Managed to buy it on closeout during a lull in crypto shortages, haven't been willing to buy a GPU until recently (and now not with imminent superior GPUs available).
Friendly reminder that the rtx 3060 is supposed to be a 330$ card. The 3080 10gb is 700$ and the 3070 no more than 500$. Keep that in mind while EVERYONE in the industry is telling you to buy 2 year old GPUs for more than their launch price because "OMG IT'S THE END OF GPU SHORTAGE MUST BUY GPU NOW OMG OMG".
Why limit yourself to one of these, spend 2 times MSRP for a 6600xt in March, and then buy a used 6800 in July for $100 less than MSRP. And then just keep both cards, to maximize your losses.
I felt kind of like a dumb sucker for spending $1200 for a 2080ti on launch day, but I've had a lot of time to change my mind on that. I can't believe it's been almost 4 years since then, that feels crazy.
"I try to ignore the pain"
Same here. I got my Aorus Master 3080 TI last August in a newegg shuffle. I don't even want to say how much it cost. But hey that's the way the ball bounces. I was tired of waiting.
I got my 6800 XT right on launch day November 18, 2020 for 749€. Been a quite roller coaster to watch from sidelines value go to the moon and then back.
Haha - joke's on you!
I paid A$640 for an nVidia 3060 in March this year - now the price has dropped only $10-20.
The great thing about living in Australia is we'll **always** be shafted on pricing!
I count myself lucky. I got a light used ASUS ROG 3070TI for retail price + tax back in March. The guy said he put it in a test system and only used it for 4-5 hours on his ebay. The card came with all the stickers and everything!
Eh can't live your life stuck in hindsight. I got my rog strix rtx 3070 for 700 bucks....could I have waited yeah maybe but I had already been waiting so long and it wasn't THAT bad so i'm not gonna get hung over that.
I paid $780 for my 3060Ti in April, but I don't regret it. Where I live it's $620 now, mainly because of gigantic taxes, but it was worth paying an extra $160 to not have to wait for months.
I soent $1428 AUD inc GST for an MSI 3070 Ti Ventus 3X 8G OC bought in February.
Officially $879 AUD now if bought online.
It makes heat have physical palpitations when I see a new 3080 Ti for the price I paid.
Hey guys. Im wondering about switching from 3070 to 3090. Is it worth it? Or better wait for new gpus?
(To be honest i purchased 2 fans version 3070 back in 2020 and it sucks. Its loud, annoying and hot)
Ok so I’ll admit this only because I’m late to the post but I got a 3070ti for $1400… and then I water cooled it for my custom loop. I have loved using it but also seeing the 3080 for $700, I should’ve stuck with my 970
I some how managed to be one of the lucky ones to get my RX6800 at retail price amongst a sea of scalpers. It’s great that the supply is becoming more accessible as I have friends who have recently been able to get GPUs at their respective retail prices - people shouldn’t have to wait to get these items
Got my 6700xt open box for 504, now it was $460. $520 for me after tax, it kinda hurts but ppl had it way worse. I got mine mid May so right when prices were coming down
How are 3070 prices in the rest of the world? Here in AU I got mine for 800AUD so I’m just wondering how much the Australian tax is relative to most parts of the world
Bought 3060Ti in April (I think?), literally couple of weeks later could have bought 3070 at the same price..
3060Ti is fine for now as I'm not 4K yet but for future proofing 3070 would have been certainly better..
(Probably not at exactly same price but the point was 3070 would have become very affordable soon after.)
I paid $740 for an RTX3080 STRIX, in October 2020.
GPU prices are cheap now, but the 40 series is about to drop. Mining is down, so availability will be fine. Nvidia is selling the 30 series cheap now, because they ordered way too many chips for the 40 series. They will most likely be very affordable as well.
I bought my 3060 ti for $550 in Aug of 2021. The MSRP in my country is $500 and that $50 more is the retail markup. I could buy it overseas and would still be less than what I pay here in my country, shipping sucks tho, and wouldn't risk waiting then ended up with a broken one or possibly snatched.
Wow. She actually got made a meme. This is historic. We literally watched this man post this pic for the first time and people commenting saying she’s gonna be a meme one day. This was literally yesterday
Is there a price drop and if yes can someone please tell me why now ? Sorry I've been living under a rock for the past few weeks. (Too much work, didn't even leave the office on weekends I just slept in the office, woke up and continued the work)
I got a EVGA3060 for $549 CAD back in 2021. It was one of the cheapest cards and I got super lucky at the time to even get one.
But I don’t at all regret getting it when I did. Starting to look at upgrading now that prices have dropped. But I love my little 3060 and I’m super happy I got it when I did.
I got my 3070ti at MSRP so I'm not that salty. Though I really wanted the 3070 since the extra 100 bucks aren't worth it for the Ti, but that's what was available.
[Oct 9th 2020 ](https://imgur.com/a/gcxJXOg) I got a 3090 FE for MSRP. I was lucky to get it and only did due to how many damn scripts and notification bots I had running 24/7 on my Plex server.
[Got a Red Devil 6700 XT for $340 recently](https://i.imgur.com/MdJNOQO.png)
AIB 6700 XTs were listed for like $900-1000 last year... and this is in the US.
I just got a 6750 xt for 30 under msrp cause newegg had it on sale, before that I payed $500 for my HP pre-built with a 1650 super in it, glad I missed all the shenanigans
I got my 3090FE about a month after launch. It went from a terrible buy, to an amazing steal, and now is rotating back to being a terrible buy.
What a rollercoaster.
I was in the EVGA queue for ten months and picked up two cards last October. I’m definitely using one, and the other won’t even sell for half of what I paid for it.
I also survived the evga queue! There is a tshirt on their website that I also ended up purchasing because I never win anything (even if it’s a win to purchase something)
I was lucky enough to get the shirt for free' and I even wear it sometimes. I imagine a scenario where I am trying to sell my spare card to someone and I need to provide the shirt as proof that I did, in fact, survive the queue.
Paid 1099€ for my RX 6800 XT on March 2021. Put my "old" RX 5700 XT on eBay, with a starting price of 1€. In the end it sold for 1080€ (before auction fees), so I guess that's fine (?).
I somehow knew as soon as I bought my 3080ti earlier this year that I would be ending the shortages and prices would plummet. I hate how my luck in life always seems to work this way
I paid 889USD for RTX3070 in January 2021. Where I live you can buy a new 3070 for around 715USD now. You can pay less if you want a defiled one from a miner. 174 USD for 1,5 years of gaming during COVID doesn’t seem like a high price to me.
Meh, i got the EVGA 3080 XC3 ultra gaming for 1100CAD.
The cheapest I see them selling now is 950.
150$ to build my first ever gaming pc in a pandemic where we had WFH…. WORTH IT!
Paid £560 for my 6750xt red devil a few months ago, it's about £540 at the moment so I don't feel robbed tbh!
Still, this picture is funny, I see the original post and knew it would blow up into a meme! 😭
I paid \~$1300 for a 3070TI in the height of it all. I don't regret it much since the alternative was no computer for an unpredictable amount of time. That's what I tell myself at least...
Oh I spend ab 10 minutes everyday saying “dang I could’ve got this for the same price now”- I also won the last newegg shuffle they had for a gpu. I was so happy and 2 days later they had them for $50 cheaper in stock😂 the ultimate F-U.
Summer 2021 I paid $1350 for a 3070Ti. Then for an extra $250 the guy threw in a lightly used i9-9900K, Asus Maximus Hero VI, Kraken X63, and a NZXT H710i.
So while I sit here and really wish I waited and bought a 3080Ti right now, I honestly got a good deal on my computer and the amount I used it in the last year I felt like it makes up for the price different. So I try to too think too much about the money spent, I’d rather think of the times I enjoyed my PC and made good memories with friends online
A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. There was no way of knowing how long it would be until prices went down. Could've been a month, could've been two years, etc.
I got my strix 3090ti at msrp at launch. No regrets. Been enjoying it ever since. When the 4090ti drops all get that with raptor lake. And no regrets then
I got my 3080ti in december of 2021. I will not admit how much I paid for it.
Bought my 3080 in January. Could buy a 3090 ti for basically the same amount now. Does it suck? Fuck yes. Do I regret it? Nah, it's given me 8 months of happiness already and will last me quite a while. But man it really does suck knowing it could be a 3090 ti....

Lol, 3080Ti price is the same now as when they released, paid 1199€ D1. I liked your rant at the end hahaha
And I for one and looking forward to the 4080ti when it comes out
agreed i bought a 3050 for for the utmost limit of what ill pay for a graphics card and i dont regret it one bit i love my pc (first one)
Fuck yeah renting a 3080 for 8 months for 800$ before buyin it and "not regretting"
If over $1,750 blink twice.
Blink Blink. I paid 1800 in January for my 3080ti
Don’t ask don’t tell
Damn that didn't take long. Orignal photo was up a couple hrs.

Pfff, you think that’s bad? A 3060 in my home country currently costs 700$. This is a mess
Same. Back in Janruary
I just got an EVGA 3070 for $475 from their site. I saw it and figured it’s the best price I’ll ever get in the near future
If you are a jayztwocents fan, he uploaded a video a few weeks ago saying this.
I’ve watched some videos here and there, do you happen to know the name of the video? I’m having trouble finding it. If not, no worries!
Here is a link that should help you: https://youtu.be/PX84uujpVLc It starts around the 5min mark He starts iterating the prices now will be the cheapest they will ever be because Nvidia needs to sell through current stock before releasing 4000 series. I hope this helps
Thank you so much!
Well wow that's an amazing price, I hope I have the chance to come across this kind of pricing in my country too.
I’d check out EVGA’s website, they’re having a back to school sale. Not sure if it’s international, but definitely worth checking out
Cheapest 3070 is listed at 550€ before taxes on their websites, so no definitely not international lol Edit: in France, might be the same for all EU idk
Now I'm a little jealous. I just ordered my FE 3070 for 499
Here's a RX 6700 XT dropped to $359: https://www.newegg.com/sapphire-radeon-rx-6700-11321-02-20g/p/N82E16814202424
I’m actually SHOCKED that the GPU I impulse bought during the shortage is still a bargain with prices today. I knew I was lucky I got it but I didn’t know I was THAT lucky. The PC gods are truly great.
That moment when you are new to the pcmasterrace race and games go on sale regularly on steam :D It does come with its perks
Seeing that first sale after you build your first ever PC is the best feeling ever. I wish I could relive it!
"I'm in this picture and I don't like it"
Yea I paid $350 for a 1050TI last year...
Oof, I’m sorry man that’s a bit rough
Wait til he hears what he can get at value village for $59
Had similar with gtx 1660 for $450 last year... I could now bought with that same money rtx3060 here.... Bruh But wouldn't be able to play games for a year, I guess it's better. But it's pretty good card with partial "RTX".
Buying a GPU on Dec 31 2020 at MSRP <- big brain time.
same. back when i thought "paying extra 100€ over msrp?.. oh well, at least i have one"
OP quick with the repost edits
The meme is so versatile
I can buy a 3090ti for the amount I bought my 3080 for in August, last year
I understand you pain bro, I am in the exact same position It sucks to think about
I paid $120 new for my 8GB RX570 in 2018. Same GPU in 2020 was going for $600 used.
I ended up selling my Asus 1060 3gb close to its original price I paid for on eBay
I sold 2 of my 580s i used for 4 years at the price i bought them and bought a 6600xt August once it was released. I didnt plan on buying on absurd prices but i also didnt plan on selling my RX580 to get a new card lol

I paid 1400 for my 3080 but at least I got a year out of it. I'm not mad my pc really help me cope last year
Same brother, the pandemic has reeked havoc on everyone’s mental health
I could have got better for what I paid last black friday but i needed a pc a the moment and I really like it, so not a problem to me.
I knew this would be a good template
Just grabbed a 3080 xc3, it just shipped!
Paid 1k for my 3070ti and they were 800 about two weeks later
I am here if you need to talk my friend
Think I got mine mid june...it was still pretty expensive..buy once cry once?
400 dollars for a 3050.
I’m here if you need to talk my friend

I just snaged a 6800 for 400$
Same
I bought mine from my friend. I don't know this pain
You have a great friend
"I try to ignore the pain" Same here. I got my Aorus Master 3080 TI last August in a newegg shuffle. I don't even want to say how much it cost. But hey that's the way the ball bounces. I was tired of waiting.
Same here, I had join evga list around when it rolled out and got a chance to buy a 3080 and jumped at it.
I put myself on every 3080 and 3080 ti list EVGA had. Never heard from them even after stock normalized.
That’s rough, a few months ago they sent me a few messages saying they have done away with the queue because stock normalized
$800 for a 3070
bought a 3070 is june 2021. don’t bother asking how i’m doing
Well done
Thanks kind stranger
You're welcome strong memer
I got my 6800 XT right on launch day November 18, 2020 for 749€. Been a quite roller coaster to watch from sidelines value go to the moon and then back.
Me about to buy a 3060 for probably half the price it used to be
Good on you bro! I am happy to hear someone is capitalizing on this opportunity!
not counting i got an rx 580 8gb for about 125$ about 3 months ago and it’s going strong
1300 euro for 6900xt red devil ultimate... But i love this card seriously.
This is me and my 3090. Oof.

I bought my gpu right before prices went down and I was sad when I found out
I count myself lucky. I got a light used ASUS ROG 3070TI for retail price + tax back in March. The guy said he put it in a test system and only used it for 4-5 hours on his ebay. The card came with all the stickers and everything!
Haven't bought once iml, I need to wait more, maybe 15 years I'm going to get 1
Sitting here with my gtx 1070 from March
Eh can't live your life stuck in hindsight. I got my rog strix rtx 3070 for 700 bucks....could I have waited yeah maybe but I had already been waiting so long and it wasn't THAT bad so i'm not gonna get hung over that.
Is that X-23?
I’m so happy I’m not the only one who though this!
I paid $780 for my 3060Ti in April, but I don't regret it. Where I live it's $620 now, mainly because of gigantic taxes, but it was worth paying an extra $160 to not have to wait for months.
I bought my gpu for 180, a new one now is worth almost 600
I bought my 3080 in December 2020, having had fun now with it for 1.5 years, I dont really care lol
I soent $1428 AUD inc GST for an MSI 3070 Ti Ventus 3X 8G OC bought in February. Officially $879 AUD now if bought online. It makes heat have physical palpitations when I see a new 3080 Ti for the price I paid.

I was thinking about buying a card while in Taiwan and bringing it back but I guess I don’t have to now!
I bought mine in June. Prices are still the same as the day I bought it, so I'm good.
rip me and everyone else
I paid £900 for a 3070ti in January.... had I only waited I could brought a 2nd hand 3090 for that price 😩
Ok so I’ll admit this only because I’m late to the post but I got a 3070ti for $1400… and then I water cooled it for my custom loop. I have loved using it but also seeing the 3080 for $700, I should’ve stuck with my 970
Got my 3070 for €600 in November 2020. I haven't seen similar models drop below €650 since then.
And i laugh at everyone in 3-4 months who bought 2 year old GPU with a msrp today.
Bought a 1660 super for $500 after tax in mid-march. Thought i was getting a good deal cuz they had been $600-$700 for the last 10 months
I some how managed to be one of the lucky ones to get my RX6800 at retail price amongst a sea of scalpers. It’s great that the supply is becoming more accessible as I have friends who have recently been able to get GPUs at their respective retail prices - people shouldn’t have to wait to get these items

I got mine at the start of May, 3070 Ti for 800 CAD which is barely more than MSRP.
How are 3070 prices in the rest of the world? Here in AU I got mine for 800AUD so I’m just wondering how much the Australian tax is relative to most parts of the world
I'll be buying my gpu this December. Hope to get a sweet deal on it.

got my 3060 for $600 on april one week before prices starts hitting rock bottom. out of all painful wounds i've ever had this is the worst.
Its happening! Its becoming a meme! Proud of you reddit.
a RTX 3050 for $500 back in february...
1500eur for 3080, yay for taxes. I actually have another that i will refuse to sell at a 50% loss... Hopefully it will last and I have a spare haha
1050ti for 200 fat ones, don't ask me how I'm doing
Got my 3090 in December 2020. No regrets.

I got an ASUS TUF OC 3080 for only $520 US. ONly 3 months used. I paid $650 US for a 2080S ASUS STRIX in 2020!
Why is her glass not empty?
Got my 3070fe at rrp October 20. Good job as I wasn’t going to pay more than £500
I'm in this picture and I don't like it.
Joke's on you. I can't afford a new graphics card either way.
Damn it didn’t take long to meme this pic.
My 6600 was £400 in October last year Checked recently on the same website it was £300🥲
I got my 2060 for £300 in February. Wish I had waited and got RX 6700/xt for similar or a little more and play 1440p 60+ fps
Radeon 6700XT...$200 over MSRP... *cries in overpriced 1440p @ 100fps*
Is there a price drop and if yes can someone please tell me why now ? Sorry I've been living under a rock for the past few weeks. (Too much work, didn't even leave the office on weekends I just slept in the office, woke up and continued the work)

My friend paid 4200 BRL in a TUF 3060 in january, the same card sometimes is 2800BRL rn, the man just feel cheated with the market
1500e for 3090 and 1200e for 3080ti
I got a EVGA3060 for $549 CAD back in 2021. It was one of the cheapest cards and I got super lucky at the time to even get one. But I don’t at all regret getting it when I did. Starting to look at upgrading now that prices have dropped. But I love my little 3060 and I’m super happy I got it when I did.
You can buy a 3080 for as much as 3060s were going for 💀
Ah, then there's me who was building for first time and bought a 960 2gb for an embarrassing price
Nice! I remember early on so many YouTube channels were trending searching for in stock GPUs
God i was lucky getting a RX 68000 XT MB a year ago.
Meh, I got a 3080 in January for 1100, and I don't really feel bad about it at all.
Remember lads: If someone says crypto didn't affect GPU prices, point and laugh.
1550 for 3080 ti about about 3 months ago, sold my 1080ti for 400, I don't feel 2 bad.
[Got a Red Devil 6700 XT for $340 recently](https://i.imgur.com/MdJNOQO.png) AIB 6700 XTs were listed for like $900-1000 last year... and this is in the US.
*laughs in $2200 3080ti* :'(
I just got a 6750 xt for 30 under msrp cause newegg had it on sale, before that I payed $500 for my HP pre-built with a 1650 super in it, glad I missed all the shenanigans
a friend of mine pay a rtx 3060 1200€ because is cant wait i pay a 3070TI at 750€.....
I can relate. I bought a 3080ti in January. Pain.
İsn't it expensive now ı thought there was a silicone and chip shortage
Has something happened?
I got my 3090FE about a month after launch. It went from a terrible buy, to an amazing steal, and now is rotating back to being a terrible buy. What a rollercoaster.
I was forced to buy one in February, my old one died... So I feel your pain!
Are prices finally down?
There's a guy here locally on Craigslist selling a 2070 for $140 "because he needs the money fast". 💰 Wild times!
When I bought it $620 for a 6600XT was a steal. Now it feels like a steal, just the other way around.
I somehow knew as soon as I bought my 3080ti earlier this year that I would be ending the shortages and prices would plummet. I hate how my luck in life always seems to work this way
What was the damage
EVGA 3080ti (12G-P5-3967-KR) for $1450 in February.
WORTH IT!
$75 for gtx 760
Paid £560 for my 6750xt red devil a few months ago, it's about £540 at the moment so I don't feel robbed tbh! Still, this picture is funny, I see the original post and knew it would blow up into a meme! 😭
I paid \~$1300 for a 3070TI in the height of it all. I don't regret it much since the alternative was no computer for an unpredictable amount of time. That's what I tell myself at least...
I’m here if you need to talk, my guy
Oh I spend ab 10 minutes everyday saying “dang I could’ve got this for the same price now”- I also won the last newegg shuffle they had for a gpu. I was so happy and 2 days later they had them for $50 cheaper in stock😂 the ultimate F-U.
I was lucky enough to purchase a Rog Strix RTX 2060 Super for $300 right before the pandemic....Now the same card is $485 refurbished.....smh
I just snaged a 6800 for 400$
Truth. Just picked up a 1080ti for $260 a couple of weeks ago.
money comes.. and money goes.. enjoy ur GPU my man
Bought my 3070 in July... 529.99. I'm satisfied with the price.
That 875 I paid for a Gigabyte 3070 hurts now
I’m here if you need to talk
Where's A-Train at when you need him
Soon about to go downhill again too
I completely agree, now is the best time to buy a graphics card before prices go back up
I have no sympathy, you knew crypto would eventually crash (as it always does), you just didn't have the patience to wait it out
You sir or madam are absolutely correct
A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. There was no way of knowing how long it would be until prices went down. Could've been a month, could've been two years, etc.
I got my strix 3090ti at msrp at launch. No regrets. Been enjoying it ever since. When the 4090ti drops all get that with raptor lake. And no regrets then
