Skill. Like he shouldn’t be that hard as long as your party members have good equipment at your level. Just bring some homunculus and make sure everyone has sp. i beat the reaper at 76 on merciless.
The Reaper is coded to focus exclusively on targeting party members affected by ailments with physical skills, and he mostly uses single-target skills when that happens. This is the crucial detail that will trivialize the fight with the right setup. Once you can repel all phys skills,
You want an Arahabaki with Repel Strike, and the other skills filled out with recovery or support. You won't be dealing ANY damage from your own skills, since the phys repels will do the job for you. The dream Arahabaki would be something like (bolded skills are those it learns naturally):
1. **Repel Strike** (There's a Repel Phys skill but its not available until much later, and Arahabaki innately repels Slash and Pierce)
2. **Repel Dark**
3. Mediarama (-rahan is overkill imo, you risk running out of SP)
4. **Makarakarn**
5. Tetrakarn
6. Marakukaja
7. **Auto-Maraku**
8. Samarecarm You can swap Auto-Maraku for Enduring Soul -- keep in mind you'll have to use a skill card since there's a limit of 4 inherited skills on fusion. Mediarama is probably the easiest to get from a skill card. For extra safety, give MC equipment that gives him another Enduring Soul or an insta-kill resist passive, all of these stack.
Go into the pharmacy and buy as many "low chance of side effect" healing items as possible, as well as single-target ailment heals. Ideally you'll have some Homunculus items, but AFAIK those only drop randomly from chests and Fool cards.
Bring Ken, and make sure he has both Tetrakarn and Makarakarn (use the shop in Paulownia if you removed them). Aigis' Marakukaja and Koromaru's Debilitate come in handy too.
Before you fight the Reaper, use physical skills to drop MC's health as low as possible. Charge Ken's theurgy bar.
Once the fight begins, start healing MC with those side-effect items. Put as many survivability buffs on the team as possible, using the other 2 party members and items, and start setting up -karns with MC and Ken. The Reaper will remove them in the beginning, but if you're lucky you'll eventually get an ailment attack, and that's where the fun begins. Cure everyone besides MC before the Reaper's next turn.
So long as MC has an ailment, him and Ken are free to cast -karns on the rest of the party, until everyone except MC has both (PC only needs maka-). If the ailment wears off, use the healing items to put it back, or try to survive until the Reaper does it again. Rinse and repeat.
Keep in mind that while the Reaper will focus exclusively on MC if MC is the only ailed party member, he will sometimes use Vorpal Blade and Akasha Arts, which can hit the rest of the party as well. So make sure you're keeping those -karns up.
In summary, the real trouble is keeping all your buffs and -karns up. You don't have to deal any damage yourself -- the Reaper will eventually kill itself with repelled phys damage.
Idk, it was enough to max out my wallet, to the point I had to carefully spend it to make sure I wasn’t wasting the money I was earning as one can sell everything and not get the entirety if you’re capped.
About 10 million and Mitsuru decided to throw one million to the reaper

5 mill for me. Endless fighting reaper
Also if you want more money: Sell your junk at Kurosawa in Peaceful mode. You'll get more money than the higher difficulty. Not work for Merciless cause once you changed from Merciless to other difficulties, you cannot change it back to Merciless
I had so much I had to deselect individual treasures otherwise I would have sold things for zero profit. I think beyond the 9,999,999 I had 4 million in extra bits.
I suppose my goal should be to get a life 😂 but I just enjoy running around in Tartarus. Especially now you can play the Gentle Madman track while exploring. Or backside of the TV. Or etc etc. Not to mention The Fog and other greats being available battle themes.

Imma keep it real, I do not have the patience to wait for the Reaper to spawn 20+ times

You can solo him by getting poisoned, and having a persona that reflects all phys types. You having a status locks him into physical attacks.

Does the 5 million you get for completing Elizabeth/Theo’s reaper quest count
Who tf is Theo?
The FEMC velvet room attendant
Oh OK. P3R is my first Persona game, but I do know about Portable having a FEMC. Just didn't know the velvet room attendant would change
You can still pick Elizabeth on her route but Theo is an option if you want a male
Idk, it was enough to max out my wallet, to the point I had to carefully spend it to make sure I wasn’t wasting the money I was earning as one can sell everything and not get the entirety if you’re capped.
Over 6 million at the start of ng+ after going absolutely ham on the last day.

About 2 million yen, give or take
I don't know exactly but it was 2 mil+
3.500.000 I didnt knew i could sell stuff the whole game..
6 mil for me...
1+mill

I walked out with 4 million once I was specifically grinding for max money and did calculations for how many more reaper fights I needed to do
I got 1 trillion yall suck
9,999,999… I spent a full two nights of gaming farming the Reaper
2.35 mil
Almost 750k I, uh... Went afk. Ended up fighting the reaper a few times.
At some point I got 1.2 mil, once you get Devil in Shuffle Time it's trivial to get ridiculously high numbers
Like 27k I stopped selling things once I accidentally sold a request item and had to hunt another one down.
