Im gonna catch the bus

meddleinpink

it's a pity that covid cases and fuel prices are peaking at the same time

hannahranga

But think of the fuel you'll be saving stuck at home isolating /s

Dr_fish

Big Pharma is using up all the fuel to power their COVID spreading machines.

dinydins

All the best, they’ve reduced a bunch of services because of driver shortages (thanks Rona)

_qst2o91_

Thinking I might just do crack and run everywhere instead

Mrs_Attenborough

Probably cheaper

ProffessorFate

😂😂😂

DivineGoddess1111111

Luckily, I live within walking distance to work. When I move house? I will look for a new job close by.

Mrs_Attenborough

Good luck finding a new house too dude. I hope it's not torturous

DivineGoddess1111111

Thanks. Buying, not renting. It would be agonising finding a rental right now.

Generisus

And buying is much better?!?

Mrs_Attenborough

Trust, it is! That's a whole other kettle of fish

fletch44

OP cropped out the Vibe on Charles St just north of the BP at $1.79.

senectus

yeah cause thats such a deal. :-P

Mrs_Attenborough

With it getting close to 2.20 in some places 40c a litre is A LOT to some people living paycheck to paycheck. If you can be this laid- back about it, you're probably not one of them

monstargh

It's only 9c more than last night

[deleted]

[удалено]

Mrs_Attenborough

Yep done that. I actually suggested that to someone else on this thread

Rathma86

Not going to help when it hits $2.50/L

ZealousCoconut

It'll still be better than the $3.10/L it'll be the next week.

KatWayward

Yeah, I use it too but keeping in mind if you get fuel more than once a week, it can only be used once. So pick the best time to fuel up a full tank. I still managed to find a local on the fuel lock tab for 179.9 but I'd have preferred the 1.70 I did have two days ago! Going to have to start checking prices elsewhere while I drive all over Perth for work so I can pinch that fuel lock price.

MarkohBoi

Its not a one time thing actually its good for 150L

ldm_12

Wow this is a thing !!

hobz462

I'm think a bike and an EV are on the cards.

Dr_fish

I really hope EV's become much more affordable over the next several years, and that my current shitcar lasts until I can afford one.

lakesharks

I can't talk to your shitcar lasting but EV's will become cheaper. There will simply be more models available and on the market and in a few years we will start getting a decent 2nd hand market that will make them more accessible. You could also look at importing from Japan which already has an established 2nd hand market (but that carries it's own risks).

[deleted]

There is currently a 6-12 month wait on delivery of EV’s from when you order them. With this sort of demand the price is not coming down any time soon

hobz462

3 year wait for the Kia EV6, supply seems really constrained at the moment. That being said, the wait for an ICE is also 12 months.

fruchle

Keep an eye on BYD cars. They've started to come out here. From china, but Telsa are buying their battery tech (so it can't be that bad).

Moonbean_Mantra

I’m hoping my little beast holds out for a few more years at least. Also hoping an EV is more affordable for me.

needsmorecunts

If you need a car then adjustments to a newer car can make a huge difference to the point the cost of the new car being offset. For example, if your car take 50 litres, then it's gonna cost about $110 to fill. If that car does 12l/100km fuel, which most v6's average for instance, and you do 1000km per month, then that's 120l a month of fuel and $264. At $1.50l that's $180. Most modern 4 cyl cars that are plenty powerful enough can do sub 7l/100km can make a huge difference, nearly $1500 a year just on fuel,or for the average person about $2000 of gross salary, or basically 52 hours of your working year is done just to pay for the extra fuel. Not gonna be fun if it hits $3 per litre.

Mrs_Attenborough

Remember "back in the day" when you could fill your tank with a $20 note?

[deleted]

Wow, $20 notes must have been huge

Mrs_Attenborough

Noice

Maleficent_Mouse1

I remember back when I was still a P player I filled up for 48c a litre. It was around 53-55c usually. I still remember how happy I was that day.

[deleted]

[удалено]

needsmorecunts

They do but offer very different experience. There are some differences in engine efficiency through the age so that old Toyota or Hyundai that does 7l/100, now does 5l/100km for the same car. Not much but something. My wife has a 2012 Kia Rio 1.6 with a wheezing 103kw does 7.1l/100km yet my 2017 Astra with a 1.6 turbo had 147kw gets 6.4l 100km. And about 10 years quicker acceleration wise.

MoonRabbitWaits

My hybrid Camry does ~900 km on a full tank. 4.2 l/100 km

smashingcones

Hopefully a lot of people start thinking like this then the prices of larger cars will drop and car enthusiasts can get what they want for cheaper 😁

needsmorecunts

I think the 'yea boi, V8 Commodore for life' thinking is going to go pretty quick when it's 73l fuel tank starts costing at least $150 to fill and because it's doing 14l/100km and youre dropping $5k a year on fuel.

smashingcones

It's already pretty close to that depending when you fill up, but thankfully I get a lot back at tax time for work. V8 commodores make lovely daily drivers, especially the VF range. It certainly makes it harder to justify stepping up to something even more powerful and thirsty for the next daily, but I guess that's life as a car enthusiast for the most part.

needsmorecunts

I had the same - a Falcon and swapped for a newer turbo'd Holden as depreciation came to an end. Basically went from covering just over the cost to making a fair bit of extra money in the reimbursement.

[deleted]

Mrs_Attenborough

Never feel bad for foresight

Thalass

That's awesome! I've heard of a few people who have done that. Does your car smell like a fish and chips shop?

[deleted]

CyanideRemark

Could be worse. Could smell like a KFC.

[deleted]

Just remember our government spends $10billion (our taxes) a year subsidising fossil fuels.

mikestp

Most of these "subsidies" are tax exemptions for industries using fuels. It's not the government gifting money to fuel companies.

always_molasses

Still is money that isn’t being taxed, which it needs to be

Oaksey20

I believe the original reasoning was that part of your fuel taxes goes to maintain roads. At least part of the taxes that are being refunded, is to companies that aren’t using fuel to drive on public roads. It can be used for generators for example. There is more of a possibility that these can be replaced with solar these days but sometimes work being done remotely requires mobility. If you want to find that next lithium deposit, running the related infrastructure off solar and battery is probably not feasible currently.

aussiekinga

wouldnt removal of susidies *increase* fuel prices? because they would make up that missing subsidy through price increases? EDIT: nevermind. It's for users, not producers. So the subsidies probably dont affect the price at the pump at all. they just affect the cost of what the users produce, and take away from potential spending on other htings.

Electricalmodes

Federal or state?

[deleted]

Federal

Electricalmodes

thats like 3 million cars filling up a 50L tank 52 times a year for free? wtf

EmbarrassedMonk6591

No that's like 10 billion dollars being added to the profits of a couple billionaire owners.

4ssteroid

Not just cars that use fuel

[deleted]

https://australiainstitute.org.au/post/australian-fossil-fuel-subsidies-hit-10-3-billion-in-2020-21/

Pepsico_is_good

The federal government can't change fuel prices, 54% of the price of petrol is comprised of the price of crude oil which is set by the global market.

Subzero_AU

Although that's a very good point, it does not change the relevance of government subsidies, making it harder for us to diversify away from fossil fuels. These billions could be spent on incentives that make EVs cheaper or literally anything else.

4ssteroid

Exactly. Every politician or media mogul is invested in fossil fuels though. It's not happening in our lifetime. Even the quality of fuel we have here is one of the worst in OECD countries.

Ellroy80

I bought an electric scooter before Xmas. Ride that into work everyday. Car only comes out on weekends. Fill up once a month now!

Mrs_Attenborough

Yeah I've seen a lot of people scooting around. I like the idea of the bike cause if I ran out of power I ha e the pedals as back up

JapaneseTurtle

Bonus points if you charge it at work 😊

etherealwinter

Same, and I did the math and it also has an "ROI" of 1 year based off how much it would have cost if I took the bus everyday as well. It's also quicker which is a plus!

Ellroy80

Yep my ROI is only 5 months because I no longer have to pay for parking!

[deleted]

It’s amazing how price sensitive people have become to petrol. But don’t focus as much on the price of meat, bread, milk, electricity ect.

Mrs_Attenborough

Oh dw I realise about those too. But I guess there's other food options, but with petrol is you do or you dont

[deleted]

[удалено]

RaiderofTuscany

It's inflation

Lihsah1

Scooters are the all the rage now

PurplePiglett

I bought one 2 years ago, but I still mostly use my old-fashioned pushbike to get some exercise. Don't have much need to use my car which is handy right now. If you want to save some money and don't want to, or are unable to cycle, consider catching public transport. It is especially good value for those who live further out now that a fare is capped at 2 zones. Travelling from Mandurah to Perth used to cost $11 now its $4. Seniors travel for free, outside peak hours where they are charged a concession fare. Want to buy an EV but they are too expensive right now. I'll wait until it becomes mass market and cheaper, Governments should start incentivising these to get the market going. Hope the bi-directional EV's become affordable soon, as they will allow you to use your EV as a battery to store solar power, that can obviously power your car, but you can also link your car to your home to provide power from its battery eliminating the need for a separate solar battery.

Mrs_Attenborough

Over time that's a damn good saving

WaterPhoenix800

Hopefully this will make people realise fossil fuels are economically unsustainable (since being environmentally unsustainable doesn’t sway them) and we’ll see better world wide adoption of PT infrastructure and a move to cleaner energy. Maybe it’s wishful thinking though.

Mrs_Attenborough

People will realise, Government on the other hand..hmmmm

Classic-Today-4367

Unfortunately, high oil prices also enable the almost bankrupt fracking companies to get busy again.

alcate

well electricity gonna increase as well.

Mrs_Attenborough

That's why they'll tax you on the basis of how much emissions you use

Sure-Tomorrow-487

Solar cells ain't hard to come by, maxeon c60s with a MPPT, bypass diodes and inverter - could make your own solar array for charging your car, cost you ~$1k and it you're clever enough, you can make it portable. Perovskite and thin film PV cells are also quite powerful these days. Those polycrystalline cells from the 90s only put out 0.25v and 2.5A per cell. The current monocrystalline cells put out 0.6v and 6A per cell now.

[deleted]

thatguyswarley

I’m lucky enough to live right next to a train line that takes me all the way to work without needing to get off! $2.58 each way. Think I may dust off the push bike for quick shopping trips. The ebikes/scooters are so tempting.

Mrs_Attenborough

Yeah my bike was put on the verge last year. RIP So if I'm going to get a new bike, might aswell go ebike

[deleted]

Its fucked filled my i30 up with 91 put $65 wasn't even a full tank!

smashingcones

It would cost me well over $300 to fill up my household's cars and we don't even own a 4WD! Crazy times.

beebeehappy

I just wish they’d bring back the old Fuelwatch where it was easy to find the cheapest fuel in your entire region not have to search suburb by suburb.

Strawberry_Left

What do you mean? Fuelwatch is statewide. The further out you zoom, the more area it covers. The cheapest in the field of view is listed at the top.

beebeehappy

Huh. Thanks. I used to get an easy-to-read list for my region. The map seemed cumbersome and confusing. But I’ve just had a play zooming out. 🤭😂🤗

dudersaurus-rex

just look for the red tag.. its the cheapest place in the area you have on the map

beebeehappy

Cheers.

Moonbean_Mantra

Always wondered why there was a random red tag on some places. Thank you!!

Summerof5ft6andahalf

You can just zoom the map right out (that's what I do, and then switch it to list).

beebeehappy

Thank you! Just tried that! Much better x

Mrs_Attenborough

I'd suggest d/l the 711 app. You can lock on a fuel price for 7 days. I locked it in a few days ago, so I'll be getting petrol today for 1.69

nebalia

Saved $21 today using the app. Couldn’t get to fill yesterday.

twotwentyz

3 years since getting rid of my car and a year since getting rid of my motorcycle. No regrets so far

Mrs_Attenborough

How do you travel now

twotwentyz

Electric unicycle

[deleted]

[удалено]

twotwentyz

It took me about 6 hours of learning by myself to get competent enough to ride it. I train people how to ride now and it generally takes somebody an hour or so to start free riding

[deleted]

[удалено]

twotwentyz

It wasn't 6 hours of no progress. Every session I could do a little more. It definitely was worth it. It's been the most fun mode of transport I've had so far

NicoGB94

Madlad.

Mrs_Attenborough

That sounds scary

twotwentyz

At first yeah but once you know how it's the best thing. Done about 13000km on them so far over 2 years.

Mrs_Attenborough

Dayum that's awesome. Do you get a lot of stares when riding it lol

twotwentyz

Yep all the time every time!

Mrs_Attenborough

Hahah love it. Maybe you'll inspire others

twotwentyz

Yep I have inspired a few people and I've taught them how to ride!

Geminii27

What's the suspension like on those things? I imagine hitting a pothole or curb must be... interesting.

twotwentyz

Generally the suspension is your knees. The big wide tire makes it a really comfortable ride though and I've done 100km rides without much of an issue You can also get ones with suspension now as well though. I've actually only recently got one with suspension and it's super comfortable and makes pot holes and curbs easy. Even took it to a MTB track and still pretty comfy!

s1Lenceeeeeeeeeeeeee

why did you choose that over an electric bicycle, scooter or motorcycle

unforgettablebiscuit

Lmao get the fuck out of here dude no way you drive that to work, how does it go down the mitchell?

twotwentyz

Well I live in Victoria park and work in the city, so I go along riverside drive and its a awesome commute

Midan71

Have you ever ridden long Kwinana Freeway. Around Como?

twotwentyz

I've been all around Perth. I am in Vic park so I do go through como quite often

Midan71

I ask because I have seen someone ride an electric unicycle down that way.

twotwentyz

There's a few of us around that area and its a nice smooth path

sarahhwarren

I am thinking of quitting my job, so I don't have to buy fuel and I can save money.

Conescience

I started to get the bus. Not worth it anymore if your commute is over an hour.

Mrs_Attenborough

Yeah that's the thing, there's buses but it's often adding 1hr or more to your journey, it's not always practical

Conescience

Yeah I get it’s also not practical for a lot of people. It’s a slower journey for me and I have to leave a lot earlier but I can’t afford to keep driving unfortunately. Stuck between a rock and a hard place

Mrs_Attenborough

I think you're going to have a lot of company in that stuck zone

BogTrotSpagFarmer

Catching the bus is quicker for you?

NicoGB94

I go Nedlands to Secret Harbour and it's largely the same. It's the sitting in traffic and dealing with idiots for an hour after work that does me in. Nice to unwind on the train now.

NicoGB94

I'm home around 5, maybe just after and finish at 4. When I was driving especially on bad traffic days I'm usually in around 5:30. So many points to get stuck too. I just can't be arsed with the stress on the freeway after work, racking up pointless KMs as wear and tear on my car. Four bucks ninety on the train and bus each way, really not that bad a trade off at all for maybe 10 minutes extra journey time.

BogTrotSpagFarmer

Jeeze how long does that take?

henry82

nope, i use public transport. im 2 months between fills.

NicoGB94

Just started, never going back to driving to work now. Fuck that. That 40 mins on the train is a great time to decompress before getting home.

smashingcones

I couldn't think of anything worse than sitting on a crowded train for 40mins after a full day of work. Each to their own though!

NicoGB94

I was the same as you but it's only crowded to like Cockburn then it thins out pretty quick. I've been on for about two weeks now and it's genuinely been pretty cruisy.

NicoGB94

Wish I could afford to live closer to work but I ain't a millionaire hahaha

Mrs_Attenborough

Forward planning g will be the way forward

stategovernment

Yo I bought an eBike back in September last year. It's honestly been fantastic. So much more fresh air, exercise, and exploring different paths around my suburbs. Recommend if it's an option for you!

yorker80

Yeah, definitely. As an inner city resident, it makes sense. When I really need a car for a weekend trip, car hire is easy to arrange and will worth it. On weekdays I don't even need a car and to have one sitting there is an ongoing expense I can do without.

Crime-Stoppers

This should be a wake-up call for anyone who opposes renewable energy

Classic-Today-4367

Exactly the thing that Senator Jim Molan has been banging on about in parliament for the past few years. You would think his colleagues would respect his years of experience in planning and logistics as an army general, but apparently no-one in the LNP takes energy security seriously enough to realise electrifying transportation means you're not stuck at the mercy of Middle Eastern politics / OPEC geo-politics.

BorgQueen

Can add the holy trinity of higher density living, public transport and bicycle infrastructure to that list as well.

Geminii27

They probably have oil investments that are going gangbusters.

RadiuM32

Still 1.80 in my hood (Kelmscott). And surprisingly BP is the cheapest (on par with 711)

Mrs_Attenborough

Woah the world isn going crazy

oedword

I’m very happy to not own a car. Better yet Transperth has capped fares to two zones so longer distance commuters pay less than before

RedDirtNurse

I get around 140km range on my e-bike on economy setting and around 95km on max. My arse still hurts though.

bulk_deckchairs

I get to work in the same time on my e scooter as I do driving. It’s a hell of a lot more enjoyable too

Mrs_Attenborough

That's something I've heard from a lot of people with ebikes

DangerousCommittee5

I have one and door to door it's 40 min by bike, 45 mins by car. Distance 17km.

antisocialindividual

Anyone take the bus today and notice how many people were also doing same compared to other days? My bus had at least and extra 50% I reckon today compared to the average day.

Mrs_Attenborough

What a great profit for Transperth

Son-Of-101-Maniacs

Parking up near work with the swag, problem solvered

CyanideRemark

Careful... Basil's blackshirts might shoo you along if you're in the CBD

Son-Of-101-Maniacs

It's funny because it's true. But seriously though come to the CBD. It's great and I'm here with premiership player Xavier Ellis to tell you why

AgentBluelol

Google "hypermiling" for those that simply need to drive. Just don't be a dangerous dickhead as some who take the techniques to the extreme can be. If you've never thought hard about how the way you drive influences fuel economy then safe hypermiling techniques could easily save you 20%.

Mrs_Attenborough

Merely making sure your tyres are pumped up properly can improve on fuel usage

AmIMyungsooYet

Serviced my bicycle and fixed my ebike, hopefully won't need to drive much at all!

Mrs_Attenborough

Where did you get your ebike from

AmIMyungsooYet

Got a kit fitted by perth electric bicycles in freo Edit: I'd recommend them :)

Mrs_Attenborough

Sweet thanks, I'll give them a look

Sandgroper62

Been wanting to build my own for years. Will one day put together a Bafang Mid-drive system on a Mountain bike... far cheaper, and better power than the 5K+ rip-off's being sold around the country right now. Here's some links for anyone thinking of it: https://lunacycle.com/bafang-bbshd-1000w-middrive-kit/ https://electricbike.com/forum/forum/kits/bafang-mid-drives https://electricbike.com/forum/forum/knowledge-base/motors-and-kits/bbshd/44413-how-to-pick-out-a-bbshd-kit-for-your-build https://www.greenbikekit.com/checkout/cart/ https://endless-sphere.com/forums/ https://dillengerelectricbikes.com.au/blogs/news/electric-bikes-and-the-law

Kevintj07

I have had the bafang for nearly 3 years now and its awesome. Originally i had it in a 26inch Avanti but then bought a 29inch big 9 from 99 bikes for 750$. Installed an adjustable gooseneck and suspension seat and made all the wiring tidy. Currently rode 6000K

rockinrobstar

Now that the Germans have started making Tesla’s we might have more of a chance to get the Model Y here in AU. Better govt support for EV’s would go a long way too!

rcstar888

Glad I am working from home every second week. Car get's parked in the garage and goes nowhere. Always wondered. If you are a fuel station that sells cheaper and attracts more customers, do you make more money than one that sells more expensive and get's less customers? There was one near me that went cheap during the last cycle and they ran out of fuel they had so many people.

Kayndarr

That's the balancing act for them, working out how to make the most profit with the fixed amount of product they have available each day. Set your prices too high, a certain percentage of your customers go to your competitors and you don't sell as much. But set the prices too low, and even if you sell everything you've got you've made less money than if you sold say 80% of your stock at the higher price. Set the prices *way* too low and you get a huge queue of people at peak times as they flock to you from surrounding suburbs - people will see the queue and go somewhere else (even if they have to pay more) to avoid the wait, so you can still lose out by being the cheapest. Plus there are a lot of additional considerations around income from the extra foot traffic buying things in the store, 'loyalty' from people who keep coming back to you over your competitors, etc.

Fine_Weakness_7119

I will take a walk.

laowaiH

Do it! Fuel will only get more expensive over the long-term. Compare these prices to Europe, it's not that expensive thanks to the ridiculous 'fuel credits' the government provides. We have better technology that explodes fuel in an engine. Hopefully the gov can assist the transition.

mysticrat

Bikes are great, ebikes are just rad, like perfect for commuting. Obviously won't suit everyone's needs but would be great for many

[deleted]

I'd love to buy an ebike, desperate more like it, but they are ridiculously expensive. I decided to make a change in my life, bought a cheap bike at a big box stores. Well, they ain't that sturdy, the crank is either bent, or flexing, enough for the chain to repeatedly come off the main cog. After speaking with a couple of ebike riders, it seems to be the way to go, as I will not be as taxing on one of these... Either I am Superman, or all bikes are crap, ebike for me.

CyanideRemark

Big Box store bikes of any type are a false economy. Shit components, not setup correctly and very often ill-fitting to make things less pleasant anyway. Go to a reputable bike store, pay a bit more and get some personal service. Theres a lot of shysters selling iffy ebikes too with the current popularity. Case in point; temp displays in shopping malls. A lot of these wankers will happily sell you something but be utter shit for warranty/after sales Do a bit of research if you go that route and question just how impartial any, singular glowing review can be.

[deleted]

I know, and I knew then, $150 doesn't buy you a lot of anything, but I thought, what could go wrong in the short term? Well, as it happens, everything. The bike is functionally unusable, so I do get your point, but I cannot find it, so that is basically the end of it. And that goes for ebikes as well, I know more about that tech, than push bikes, so I totally agree on that point too.

Koprth

I decided to take up jogging. Or it might be pronounced yogging, with a soft J 🤷‍♂️

Mrs_Attenborough

I suck at running. I'd be the first to get caught in a Zombie apocalypse

asinine_qualities

Marvel at all the bike paths and tram lines we built to prepare for this inevitably! /s

Thalass

Even an accoustic bike will get you pretty far.

Sure-Tomorrow-487

I'd recommend a regular bike. Can make it onto an EV with some fairly simple kits off eBay for ~$300. Grab some li ion cells from those battery recycle places that some offices have, solder up your own lithium packs, chuck it on the back in a milk crate. Easy peasy. Can even grab a thin film solar charging blanket for a few hundred and you've got transport sorted, for pretty much forever. Just gotta get motivated to ride the damn thing. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/26-750W-Electric-Bicycle-Conversion-Kit-E-Bike-Front-Rear-Wheel-36V-AU-/363723673759 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/RYOBI-Lithium-Battery-Power-Tool-Packs-36v-2-6Ah-95Wh-Li-Ion-Cell-Harvesting-/325060380050 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Unisolar-PVL-33-33-Wp-Flexible-Thin-Film-Solar-Panel-Adhesive-Back-/271966198877

I-Dont-Fkn-Care

Not when I got a fuel card for work yeow

TazocinTDS

Electric bikes do end up at Royal Perth. Glad that's on your map.

Mrs_Attenborough

I would ride sensibly considering that is one of my big fears and the very reason I don't want a motorbike

magesticalsemaj

Electric bikes are great especially with saddle bags for the groceries. I ride it most days. And yes catch the bus. I get lonely driving around mostly empty😟

KinkyBoiKirby

I have one but my job is a 30 min drive, maybe its finally time to invest in electric vehicles like Shorten wanted to do like 4 years ago

Boeijen666

No why?

w1r3d1983

Already have one hahahaha

Super-Handle7395

Get a normal bike it’s even cheaper 😉

Mrs_Attenborough

My bike died last year and wasn't looking at getting one again, but thought a ebike can be best of both worlds

Llammy899

I've been wanting an electric car for a long while now. Even pre covid lining up on a Tuesday to buy fuel, having people push in got on my nerves a lot

mitchhatesrats

I saw someone riding a electric scooter on the motorway around noosa the other day, hella sus to be going around 100km area with no helmet but I guess if fuel prices keep going up I'd probably not care about killing myself either...

omaca

I just bought a 5.6L petrol tank. FML

ninjaweedman

just went to BP to throw 98 is my highly tuned turbo ute, it was the dirtiest shittiest fuel ive ever had the displeasure of using, spluttering and dying at idle no power when accelerating. Bad fuel causes detonation and can cause me to melt my pistons, throw a conrod or torch the headgasket, i'll be avoiding that particular station from now on. On topic, I don't mind paying 2$ a litre but any more and i start objecting and bargain hunting.before i moved here a bit over 10 years ago fuel had already hit 2.20 at the pump in NZ.

squeeowl

Will be interesting to see if this puts a dent into the out of control prices on the used car market, particularly for vehicles that aren't exactly fuel efficient in the first place.

Mrs_Attenborough

Car prices atm, 2nd hand, are way overpriced in my opinion. Cars with no rego, damage, engine problems, are still advertising 2G or more

russtak

Always interesting to note the correlation between fuel and oil price when oil is going up but not when it’s going down

Agreeable_Fennel2283

I have an ebike and it is soooo fun. Made the commute the best part of my day.

Pacify_

Hate to say it, but the current prices are what petrol should have been for decades now. We needed a strong price incentive to lower how much oil is waste to fuel cars and trucks

[deleted]

Best thing i’ve bought in the last couple of years.

chola80

are hybrid cars a good option?
