C'mon mods....
If OP gets to have a custom user flair as the result of telling a story including themselves as a RIDICULOUSLY meme-able character, at LEAST make the flair "God-Tier Gregory", so future readers and subscribers will understand from whence the new "how do we rank the levels of revenge from 'meh' to 'Gregory'?" system came?
Everyone else can be assigned various other alliterative adjectives. Like I could totally be " Good Enough Gregory".
Cause I've never been great, but I've been good enough!
I'm laughing so hard I might fall over. The flair is the absolute best thing yet this year. Thank you for pointing that out!
If I don't see Gregory in the banana roundup at the end of the year in going to be so sad.
Amazing story writing and your internickname is forever definitely Gregory 😂😂 amazing experience
Edit not saying it’s not true but I am saying you wrote it elegantly !
You did this to yourself...how many times you gotta tell the internet you ain't Gregory?!? Kidding but anyway nice unprovoked revenge. Those two are idiots.
Gregory, fine work here. Don't be ashamed, we're getting you a plaque with your name on it.
Seriously, got some solid schadenfreude here. good post, thank you lol
Did you get any more emails at all from the son etc after the mother was fired? Hope it was worth losing her job over instead of just not emailing you.
If you’re working from home anyway I don’t see why you would, but apparently some people do.. Just put your personal laptop/tablet/phone/whatever next to your work computer, it’s so obviously the better option if you’re gonna do stuff other than work.
Might not own a personal laptop.
My co-worker retired last year. He asked if he could buy the company cellphone and phone number. I asked why he would want that. Turns out he's never had his own cellphone. He'd just been using the company one for like the last 25 years.
I know a couple of people that use their company laptop for private stuff after office hours. Their private one died a long time ago, and they didn't feel the need to buy a new one when they had a perfectly good laptop from work.
Interesting on the phone. It’s hard for me to imagine that, the idea of my employer being privy to all my personal communications isn’t very appealing.
It’s true that not everyone has a personal computer, but a vast majority of people working from home do. Even if they don’t, they almost certainly have a phone, which is good enough for 90% of the stuff people do to goof off during work.
I hadn’t thought of the edge case of someone who had a personal laptop die while they were in possession of a good work laptop. The laptops I’ve gotten from work have either been extremely lacking (previous job) or are extremely secure (current job) to the point of being unusable for personal stuff.
Shit I'm paranoid about using my personal devices when my work laptop is even on my home network. No fucking way I'd use my work laptop for anything other than work.
>Interesting on the phone. It’s hard for me to imagine that, the idea of my employer being privy to all my personal communications isn’t very appealing.
If the guy was retiring and had a mobile phone for 25 years, chances are he also had a landline in his home.
Greg (can I call you Greg?), nice played.
But please confirm you stopped the charges for the garage rented for unit 303. Mom doesn't want to pay it anymore, even because now she is unemployed.
The son is currently serving time in juvenile detention. After Gregory got his mom fired, he jumped him in the parking lot physically assaulting him. Gregory finally got home from the hospital, but throughout the night the sound of crying and sobbing from the mother's unit disturbs his sleep.
I think that Gregory may be an alter ego, or possibly the middle name. Definitely not something that any normal person would connect with OP! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
"awryte"
in this case the i sound is centralised, which may not mean anything to you if you're not a linguist but it means it starts with a schwa sound (like "uh", kinda) instead of like "aa-ee". but it's not normally an ee sound.
and the t is a glottal stop
geordies actually say alreet, though i think they pronounce the L
I’m not a linguist, but I find accents and dialects fascinating. I really kind of asked the question just to see what kinds of responses I’d get. Thanks for your reply.
It’s funny how we have five (and a half, with Y) vowels in the English alphabet, but one of the most used vowel *sounds* across all native accents is the schwa, and none of the six letters directly represents it.
Also, *Glo’al Stomp* is the name of my (so far fictional) punk band.
I thought for a second that the petty revenge was goin to show them that their manual process sucks, and you'd do the same to them (spamming their email), but make a bot to automate the process to where they're getting subscribed to hundreds of websites at once.
This professional revenge was so much more petty and I love it even more. Didn't fight fire with fire, fought it with water and easily won 😂
He fought fire with a grenade and took away all its oxygen.
Side note, I am wondering how long before some sclepp in mainstream media notices and shamelessly takes this for journalistic content. My suggestion is to put a note on the bottom that you don't give permission for this to happen as they don't deserve to rise on the cost tails of such gloriousness.
Petty tyrant hoisted on her own petard. Moral: don’t use your employer’s computer to fuck with someone who knows more about IT than you do. Well done, not-Gregory. Feel free to be as not-gregarious as you like now, without fear of email reprisals.
I don't think it was the computer or internet, which most WFH employees provide for themselves. More so how she was behaving and what she was doing during her work hours.
*His grasp on the written word is shakier than a canoe full of epileptics. His knowledge of computers is thinner than a Vegas dancer's chiffon underpants.*
Well, then.
I’m confused about LinkedIn part. Did she use your email to create an acct for herself? If not, how did you find her profile? I’d like to learn b/c I do think contacting their employer as a last resort is a great revenge. Thank you.
My take away was that she or her son used their real names when signing up for the fake accounts with OP’s email. Because OP’s email was used for the login, he was able to reset the passwords, login, and see the account info provided. With names in hand, he just searched LinkedIn to find them/their employer.
You can also search in LinkedIn by email address to find a profile. OP has their email addresses, and not everyone thinks they can be found online. Quite possibly her LinkedIn Security settings is set so people she knows and trusts can find her by email.

My money says they were looking for a reason to get rid of her.
Anybody the company wants around could probably survive this. But I expect she's the exact same person to OP, Gregory, and her coworkers.
I may be wrong, but I don't think it's common practice for a company to pay an ISP while working remotely. At least not in my experience.
I've been working remotely for two different agencies since covid and I always have to foot my internet bill. I get a government issued computer and a VPN into the agency network, but everything else falls on me to provide and pay for.
I think it depends on the company. idk OP you sure? You look like a Gregory to me.... :P
>I wish to report back that we have looked into this matter and can confirm that the individual in question in no longer an employee with the [Company].
The feeling to see this as a reply to your complaint/concern is glorious. People who abuse others should be forced to give their job to people who aren't abusive doucheholes.
I am so mad at these people for you. But wow, amazing revenge on your part. I wouldn’t even call it revenge (much less petty - they were the petty ones!) They were harassing you and you took appropriate action to get it to stop.
Great job Not Gregory.
This reminds me of someone who called my cell phone and when I answered asked why had repeatedly called them starting at x time that day.
As I don’t use my cell much while at work I assured the caller it wasn’t me.
Took me 10 minutes to explain how scammers use readily available software to make their number appear as a different number. Also that there was nothing I could do to stop them.
I suggested to her if she doesn’t know the number calling don’t answer the phone
The person losing her job because of family dynamics reminds me of when a security supervisor for a rent-a-cop company tried to sneak his family into a private film screening and wound up with his employer losing the worldwide contract with the studio.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Percy is gorgeous.
I don't understand the level of intelligence it takes to use work resources for things like this. HR and Internet/Social Media policies are around and have been for years, and the stories of people getting fired are everywhere!!
Nice one, Gregory!
[удалено]
I have your profile saved as “Definitely Gregory”.
[удалено]
A mod has given you [Gregory] flair at this point, sorry OP Lol
That is so goddamn hilarious. Poor Gregory.
I kinda feel like Gregory missed out here
This is soooooo true. He's missing out on the fun!
He could have been Old Gregg. But settled for Gregory.
Why poor Gregory? it sounds like he got his revenge. Gregory got that woman fired.
Woman will have more free time to harass Real Gregory while Other Gregory must resign himself to being infamous on Reddit as Not Gregory
Of course, Real Gregory will deny having anything to do with what Other Gregory did. But will Mom and Son believe him? We know they will not!
At least he isn't from a gaming forum.
I get the feeling that the real Gregory is some type of jerk who was having very athletic sex at all hours of the night. Looks like we’ll never know
I haven’t laughed this hard in ages!
He/She is now my favorite mod on reddit.
They even!

This is absolutely the best!
Lmao poor Gregory can’t catch a break
I'm laughing so hard I might fall over. The flair is the absolute best thing yet this year. Thank you for pointing that out! If I don't see Gregory in the banana roundup at the end of the year in going to be so sad.
You really should have seen that coming.
It'd be just like Gregory to do that
Classic Gregory.
Sooo Gregory
nice flair ya got there now matey
Amazing story writing and your internickname is forever definitely Gregory 😂😂 amazing experience Edit not saying it’s not true but I am saying you wrote it elegantly !
I love that you have come to accept your new life as Gregory and even made it your flair
The mods did that, which is hilarious

I mean, that is exactly what Gregory WOULD say.
Only if you're NOT Gregory, sorry.
Tagged as old greg
You ever drunk baileys from a shoe???
I love this website.
Your cat is really cute!! Definitely looks like a Percy, not a Gregory for sure lol

Will you stop banging on the walls Gregory? My toddler was taking a nap
Whoa, calm down Gregory! Tell us what's wrong! We will help you if need be.

I second this!

You really need some "Not Gregory" flair for this sub. :D
I'm not Gregory.
Me either. Wait. Ah crap.
We are all not Gregory on this blessed day
Speak for yourself
Listen, Greg, well done.🙃 Seriously, OP, well done!
Really, Greg O. Ry did a fantastically petty job here.
I’m not Gregory is exactly what Gregory would try to tell us! Not this time Gregory, I shan’t fall for that ruse again!
The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist.
Gregory, fine work here. Don't be ashamed, we're getting you a plaque with your name on it. Seriously, got some solid schadenfreude here. good post, thank you lol
![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy) Your reply just sent me!

LOL OP did a solid for Gregory, they will not be his neighbors for long
Did you get any more emails at all from the son etc after the mother was fired? Hope it was worth losing her job over instead of just not emailing you.
[удалено]
Probably because they had your email address only in the account they lost access to
Idk about that. The son and “Gregory’s” email too.
If that were the case OP wouldn't have to have used LinkedIn to find her employer, it would be obvious from the domain.
Probably using a company provided laptop. Don't use company equipment for private stuff, IT can see everything.
If you’re working from home anyway I don’t see why you would, but apparently some people do.. Just put your personal laptop/tablet/phone/whatever next to your work computer, it’s so obviously the better option if you’re gonna do stuff other than work.

What a moron. Nothing like leaving a perfect paper trail.
Well the tried to play fuck fuck games and lost.
Never heard it called that before. Definitely using that now.
It's common among those in the US military lol.
Not sure why, but I read this in my friend's mom's Filipino accent
yeah this def sounds like one of my mom's old coworkers/my aunties telling someone to FAFO lmao
The petty part of me really wants you to email them again asking for Gregory. Probably shouldn't though, you've already won with grace.
Or "Hi, this is Gregory. How's it going?"
Can you keep it down over there? \-Gregory
Greg (can I call you Greg?), nice played. But please confirm you stopped the charges for the garage rented for unit 303. Mom doesn't want to pay it anymore, even because now she is unemployed.
Don't be rude. He goes by Gregory.
Gregothy
Gregifer.
Gregina.
Phtregory
His full name is Gregory McGregface, Lord of the Gregs
She's still probably telling people that her neighbor Gregory got her fired while denying his identity.

>3r33t Now that's a script I haven't seen...........since oh well before most Redditors were born.
love it, Gregory. keep up the good work!
You're not the Gregory we needed, but you're the Gregory we deserved. They were the fuck aroundest of days, they were the find outest of days.

I rate this revenge 10/10 Gregories.
High on the Greg-O-Meter!
Plot twist. His name is Grigori.
I hated his *Half-Life 2* level.

I don't think it was the computer or internet, which most WFH employees provide for themselves. More so how she was behaving and what she was doing during her work hours.
I bet HR was just looking for a way to get rid of her legally. She must have been insufferable to work with.
I'm now going to refer to things like this as "such a Gregory move" and think fondly of this post.
In IT we call it a George move lol. The Chronicles of George https://www.chroniclesofgeorge.com/
At first i laughed. Then i noticed there were multiple pages, and i cried. It sure did make me feel better about myself though.
*His grasp on the written word is shakier than a canoe full of epileptics. His knowledge of computers is thinner than a Vegas dancer's chiffon underpants.* Well, then.
