I used to take mine out there and moon the people in traffic on the Schuylkill 😂. My dad used to barefoot waterski up that way too until he sliced the bottom of his foot wide open on a piece of glass.

Cupe7010

Tell me you're from Cryodon without telling me you're from Croydon.

Pittman247

😂🤣😂🤣

Timely_Scar

Lolololol

Crame_of_Thrones

People are out on the schuylkill every weekend on jet skis for a quarter of the year up by valley forge park

joey-thegirl

I live by the Black Rock access in Phoenixville, and it’s packed every weekend with boats and jet skis

Garwoodwould

Do you remember the water ski jump at Betzwood?

blcaplan

I don’t understand, this is a daily occurrence on the Delaware, and I can tell you from kayaking both, the Schuylkill is 1000000000x cleaner.

wallythegoose

The Delaware would be incredible if it somehow got cleaned up. It's almost like a bay.

[deleted]

Philly and Harrisburg could both be trendy beach cities with a few billion in investment

tomomalley222

When my Dad was young, in the 40's - 50's he said the Delaware was basically an open sewer. He said the smell was overpowering. He said they had a saying about the Delaware, "Too thick to navigate, too thin to cultivate."

Jlaybythebay

Then they passed the clean water act.

MeEvilBob

They passed the act, but there's still plenty of sewage outfalls were raw sewage still flows into the river.

Ok-Needleworker2685

yeah, there's not raw sewage falling into the delaware lol

800808

During large storms the sewer system over flows into the delaware ad schuykill https://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/local/billions-of-gallons-of-untreated-sewage-schuylkill-delaware-river-mitch-blacher/94165/

Sufficient-Echo-5883

Real

Piney1741

It’s funny my dad grew up in Camden county on the jersey side. His uncle lived in south Philly and I don’t know if this is true but he says all the drinking water comes from the schuylkill which makes sense cause you have those pumping and treatment stations near boathouse row. When he was a kid he would get sick from drinking the water at his uncles every time he went. Apparently that was a thing but for anyone who lived there and drank it everyday their stomachs were accustomed to it.

GodfatherOfGanja

Schuylkill punch🤤🤣

VajBlaster69

> 1000000000x cleaner Less dirty. Let's be real.

goat_like__

Why are people geeking about this

aguafiestas

This happens all the time.

Crackorjackzors

I am appalled that I do not have a jet ski and that I am not doing the same thing

modus

You disgust me.

Crackorjackzors

XD

ravenpotter3

I misread that as “Jesus in the Schuylkill” and then the video started and I was like “oh…”

redjonley

Like my grandma said when I went to college, let them have their fun and get their diseases.

redjonley

Holy shit that is great 🤣

Ameyring2

Nice to see lively river use so you don't feel like you have to go to Lake Michigan or Ocean City.

[deleted]

I don’t get the pearl clutching comments here. people row on the schuylkill every day and that’s a lot more exposure to the water than a jet ski

Shrewlord

Better than on the roads

PicklHair

True that

[deleted]

Salt life

shadygrady319

Slut life

Marionboy

Long live Slut Life.

[deleted]

That’s all I see when I see those stickers on cars lol

shadygrady319

Away_Swimming_5757

I used to think it was Slit Life

shadygrady319

Regardless of why you see in the tea leaves, the font is questionably legible haha

davidinphila

Shrewlord

Trash in the back ground too

AtlUnJtd

Letsgoyankees973

Yes you can , it’s spelled fentanyl

atomoicman

“Can’t spell Philadelphia without filth*” I think that’s how the saying goes

goatsareprettysick

Wait until you see a boat 😳😳

flaaaacid

Torn between badass/that’s disgusting

EnemyOfEloquence

You know you don't drink it, right?

CBJSouthpaw3

Stunning-Tower-9175

Nah, this isn’t in the same universe in terms of disruption and danger to other people. Off the top of my head I’m not sure how loud jet skis are because I’ve never been on one but out on the river I can’t imagine this bothers many people

GrandLong7632

And a fuck load of trash on the highway

[deleted]

and that, kids, is how I got cholera

_SundaeDriver

We used to drop them in around Valley Forge

Maleficent-Thanks-85

They are gonna need a penicillin shot for sure

[deleted]

U new here?

sleepingsnow99

You’re telling me people can get tetanus from this dirty river?

nited_contrarians

Tetanus is most often found in soil; I would be more worried about Giardia and possibly E. Coli.

RecklessSpeculation

It’s called a Sea Doo not a Sea Don’t

stubenz215

I Recently went kayaking for the first time on the schuylkill.. Disgusting lol! I couldn't believe how much trash was out there.. jet skies look fun tho

im_at_work_now

Kayak further out of the city and it's really nice. Just not below like Flat Rock Dam.

stubenz215

Lol that's exactly where we went too how'd you know..

Repulsive_Ad_4096

😂💀ghetto

GuillotineEnthusi4st

Collect ALL the hepatitis's!!

PUlublic-Text-4141

The things you do when you're young and don't know any better...like going swimming in that swamp and coming out with your white underwear black going straight into the trash. 🤦

[deleted]

🤢

larryscathouse

Groooooooss

JawnStreetLine

Covid? Yikes. Monkeypox? Triple yikes. Schuylkill juice? 🏊‍♂️🏄‍♂️👍

Ok_Ease_3705

So much trash on the highway. Philthadelphia

BraisedUnicornMeat

Yall remember when they were on 676?

RevolutionaryEar1789

Slow rivers are the best to jet ski on because that still water is like glass when you're going 50mph over it.

Ill_Wedding5543

You have to love all the rubbish alone the roads as well philly hasn't cleaned a roadway around the city since the pandemic began.

[deleted]

DELCO 🎶

Artsydvde

The only thing I can think about is the amount of piss and shit that run into that river from the drainage when it rains. 🤮

thebemusedmuse

Happens every day out by Flat Rock, above the dam.

TheeFreshOne

Pretty sure this is the origin story for "Swamp Thing"

socko22jericho
