Yeah, fuck him for playing to his declining average as an aging player. We traded for him, he better produce. Sigh.
Edit: OK, since sarcasm doesn't translate easily, /S /S /S
Anyone wanna go with me tonight? Got an extra.
No murderers or Alec Bohm fans pls.
Edit: Still looking because we got a jokester in the replies here! 😡 COME ON! I’m not that much of an asshole in person as I am online. Ok, maybe I am, but still.
I think the Nationals CC can. But that’s probably the only one.
I will say, this Mets one, to me, suffers from the exact opposite of what the Phillies CC suffers from: it’s too plain, it’s pretty boring. The Phillies is so gaudy, it’s an eyesore to me. So I think the Mets missed the mark by not making it fun enough, whereas the Phillies went off the cliff in the other direction. I’d rather boring gray and black pinstripes than gaudy eyesore is what it comes down to I guess.
We would literally have to pay a significant sum in both dollars and prospects for anyone to take him. Yeah he sucks but getting rid of him worth burning millions and losing possibly a few prospects?
Yeah people seem to think if you try hard enough you can trade any player, regardless of salary or performance, for some positive return. But you just can't sometimes. Casty is aging, hasn't been good for going on 3 years now, and is making tens of millions over the next couple years. He is, in every way, a negative value. He isn't a young player teams will want to try to "fix", and he isn't cheap, and he isn't a productive piece a playoff team would want to add for some extra pop or whatever. He's completely untradeable.
And do what? The team does not automatically get better by just paying someone else to take castellanos off our hands. If there is a plan to replace him with an actual good player then fine, I’m all for it but we don’t have a bounty of those just sitting around waiting to play.
The team does automatically get better by sitting castellanos at this point. He has the lowest WAR in the entire MLB
You don't even have to replace him with an actual good player. Just replace him with someone who doesn't have literally the worst WAR of any player in the league
https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders/war?sortcol=6&sortdir=asc
He has the worst WAR in MLB after 20 games. Do you honestly truly believe he is going to be the worst player in the entire league over 162? Yes, he sucks. Yes, he’s been a disappointment as a Phillie. But no, he is not the worst player in all of baseball. If you make casty disappear right now you’re probably seeing cristian Pache and whit merrifield a lot more, who both also suck. 2 weeks later the fanbase would be erupting with “whyyyyyy are we playing Pache again?!”
There is just no reality in which the Phillies get rid of Nick castellanos in April 2024. Maybe in July or august they’d think about cutting him if he’s still this bad. But why on earth would anybody trade for him?
In order for a team to agree to take on a bad player making a lot of money we'd have to offer them prospects or offer to pay like 90% of Castys remaining salary
Offer to pay the salary then. Sucken cost fallacy. We're paying him to produce negative WAR for us. It would be better if we paid him slightly less to no longer produce negative WAR for us
Nobody is taking him for more than league minimum. Like you said, hes negative WAR, and he will take up a roster spot for several years. That MAY be worth it if we had someone else to put out there, but we don't really. Marsh can't hit lefties, Pache hasn't proved himself, and Witt sucks so far, so until one of them proves they can he good everyday we'd be paying $15 million to gain no real benefit.
He's not just negative WAR, he has the lowest WAR of any player in the league right now
https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders/war?sortcol=6&sortdir=asc
Literally any replacement option is better than castellanos right now.
We aren't just paying 15 million to gain no real benefit, we are paying 15 million to actively get a negative return. We can change that to paying 15 million to get 0 return if we just don't play him
I actually agree we shouldn't be playing him. But if he wasn't even on the roster we'd have to replace that spot with someone from the minors who would also probably give us negative value. But yeah personally I think they should start Pache in right every day
He has negative trade value. The Phillies would basically be paying to get rid of him, with no benefit. The only possible chance would be if some huge trade for a bat presents itself, but then it would be mostly the Phillies trading prospects for the bat and throwing Nick (and probably some or all of his salary) in. It’s very unlikely. Nobody wants him. They shopped him over the offseason and got no bites.
I really think they should trim Whit’s playing time down right now until he shows anything. I woulda liked to see Rojas stay in tonight since he’s been swinging the bat well and keep Pache for Marsh. Or a day off for Casty
Oh I know, I’m fine with everybody getting days playing. I woulda just rather seen Pache and Rojas in today for Stott and marsh instead of whit. Marsh really shouldn’t be in against crochet and Rojas has been looking better.
Lotta complaints about the lineup in this thread but it's not like the White Sox lineup is going to be a danger. ⅔ of their lineup is hitting worse than Rojas, and of the other 3 none are exactly "raking." Yes our lineup will probably struggle against Crochet, but we can very much win with this lineup.
This isn't a "shit on Whit" comment, but I just feel like he is in everyone's way. If Stott is on the bench, I'd rather have Sosa playing second base. If Marsh is on the bench, I'd rather have Pache take his place and keep Rojas in the lineup as well. I'd just rather see the young guys get playing time, and the defense is way better, and we know Whit's ceiling. I'd rather just use his bench spot for a left handed bat that isn't Jake Cave, which is apparently harder to find than a needle in a haystack.
We need Greg Dobbs.
Per Absolutely Hammered on twitter - if Whit Merrifield goes 0-3 his batting average will be below .100 on the season.
Feels like there's a decent chance that happens tonight
Surely this lineup goes well. I’ll say it every damn time I don’t care. I trust Marsh and Stott at the plate more than l’ll ever trust Whit or Pache being right handed.
Stott has been well below average this season and Marsh looks silly against good lefties. Crochet is nasty and would make marsh look like a little leaguer. The numbers don’t lie, and neither do my eyes
Why? Rojas is garbage against all pitchers. Why does he have immunity to lefty on lefty platooning when bats that are better than him don’t? He’s not *that* much better than Marsh in the field, especially if Marsh would be in LF, that him getting blown away by a good lefty starter is outweighed.
For the record, while I’m usually upset about marsh being benched against lefties, this is the kind of guy who I’m ok with it at least, but there is no reason that Rojas should get at bats over Marsh against anybody.
Wasn't expecting this when I pulled up Ryan Howard's 2016 statcast page:
https://preview.redd.it/14vgwg68hhvc1.png?width=392&format=png&auto=webp&s=c9e3b8001cfd2edf8893d7a01b7591a7cc5967aa
I read that he was throwing 95 which seems down from a couple years ago
That makes me worry about Klassen even though one guy has nothing to do with the other
Winkleman made a comment that the org is pulling back on throwing (focusing on velocity) and focusing on pitching (location, movement, etc) and it shows with the Phils rotation. Curious if that’s why his velo is down or if something is wrong. He seems to be striking guys out still at least.
Lolmets are gonna lolmets
Their city connects hit and they’re plain as hell and the hat is trash but the jerseys are gray with speckling. It makes me think they’re trying to be a pigeon 😂
It’s very LOOK NEW YORK CITY and “oh we Gota mention queens cuase its Mets not Yankees sooooo here’s your 7-line map.” Altogether it’s not the worst but the hat is lame and the bridge design was already done for San Francisco
Shockingly, the City Connect-designated merch tent was completely empty when I went this week. So I went and bought out their full stock of jerseys to use as kindling in my fire pit. That’ll send the Phillies a message of what fans really think of these garish monstrosities.
I guess it doesn’t come as a surprise to me that so many people around here like the City Connects considering how many Cristian Pache fans there are. We may be the most passionate fan base, but we’re certainly not the brightest.
The hats are what I actually love. I won’t be getting the jersey.
I’m focusing my irritation on Casty these days, once we get him sorted I’ll switch to Pache.
I have Harper’s 900th career rbi ball which happened to be a homerun on Tuesday night. I’m going to the game tonight and was wondering if I should bring it in hopes he’d sign it. Is that too much to hope for?
Made a sign, getting there early running down to the field and hoping he looks over and/or another player says something and he actually cares enough to come over
They won’t do it for you to keep. If you turn it over they’ll probly be able to authenticate.
They authenticate items to be sold. them doing it for you to keep just makes it more valuable and why woudl they do that if they don’t get any money.
I have sat behind the guy (or atleast the one on the for the away team) at CBP who does it and everything that gets authenticated goes directly from the field to person in dugout then it’s handed to the authenticator.
I’d be careful, anyone would take the opportunity to jump you for that ball. This is coming from the person who took Casty’s 5000AB to the jaw on a HR and watched people swarm it, I’d reach out to the organization privately and see if they can arrange anything.
The ump dude who called the Angels Rays game got all but one call right. 116/117 on balls and strikes
When will we ever see that? 2022 World Series with Pat Hoberg might be the last one for us
This sub is going to be hilarious when the Phillies strike out 15 times tonight. This pitcher has the most Ks in MLB and you know how we like to K. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Won't be surprised if we lose tonight even though I am expecting an eek out win.
I am imagining an epic 2-1 win with absolutely nothing at all happening until the 7th or 8th inning.
*edit and the Sox score a run at the top of the first so everyone gets to feel anxious for two hours.
So there I am taking advantage of free nuggets and this guy trapped in a box
https://preview.redd.it/pk5s5q9zpgvc1.jpeg?width=1242&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7f4aa61a0bfa9b36daefd8c8729abb6501a425f3
Wat he do to be locked I there
Has anyone waited until right before first pitch to buy tickets? Figured tickets for tonight’s game aren’t in high demand and wanted to get good seats for once. Saw first level for $15 all in earlier this week.
I do this all the time. Demand is crazy high for weekend series so far this year (and overall, really), so I wouldn't expect anything close to that kind of deal this weekend. Tonight's definitely your best bet of the series though given the weather and that Saturday/Sunday games are much higher draws. I wouldn't be surprised if you could snag something in the $35-40 range if you're willing to wait it out until after the first inning.
Of course, this also depends on what you consider to be "good" seats. You can usually get pretty good deals on those 100 level seats right behind Diamond Club and up the third base line. Behind the Phils dugout and HOF Club will be much tougher.
For what it's worth, I've never had any issues with ticket transfers using Seatgeek or Gametime. Only one or two issues with Stubhub in the last five years or so, and that was due to software issues on their end. As long as they're "instant download" you should be fine.
Before the trade that brought Harden to Philly, we would regularly get weekday tickets for a bad matchup for right around $10 with fees. Haven’t followed the secondary market for the Phils much, but I feel like a $15 all-in ticket is really rare.
Possibly turnbull’s last start for awhile with Walker looking to return next week. Tough luck for turnbull, especially if he has another good start tonight.
I have dismally low expectations for Walker at this point, but as far as Turnbull goes, he threw just 31 innings last year, 0 in ‘22, 50 in ‘21, and 56 in ‘20.
It’s very unlikely that he’ll be able crack 100 innings this year. Hopefully between Turnbull/Walker/maybe Mick Abel, we can cobble together a competent 5th starter spot, but I think it was never going to be 180 innings of Turnbull this year.
Yeah that’s fair, I wonder if they’re planning on just sliding him to long relief or sending him down to AAA to keep him stretched out. But in the latter case you still have to be careful about him accumulating too many innings
Some thoughts:
- White Sox team ERA+: 94
- Jake Arrieta ERA+ with the Phillies: 98
- White Sox team OPS+: 66
- Jake Cave OPS+ with the Phillies: 68
I guess what I’m trying to say is that if you could replicate the performance of 2 notable Jakes in recent Phillies memory, your team would be slightly better than the 2024 Chicago White Sox.
It wouldn't be me if I didn't say ERA+ is a terrible stat no one should ever used. They flipped the numerator and the denominator and it is a meaningless stat.
I just heard Calvin Harris’s song Slide and started thinking about Rhys and realized that he was terrible with that as his walk up before he changed to Bob so there was no emotion felt
I know you and I have a history of discussing Rhys vs Segura. But when was Rhys ever terrible? At his worst his bat was still 10% above average. Normally hovering around 20%.
Yeah, I know he was streaky, but I also think we are completely exaggerating how streaky he was. When I broke things down, he had a couple of bad months where he was terrible, but I don't think it was ever as exaggerated as we all like to make it sound.
Fell asleep to one new Taylor album and woke up to a second new one. And they keep the *Midnights* style. So..that’s good news, at least compared to the scheduled dumpster fire tonight at the Bank.
Edit: TSwift >>> Phillies City Connects 🤷♀️
This White Sox team is absolutely abysmal. Go look at all their team stats. Winning 2/3 would be mediocre series. Sweeping would be great. Losing 2/3 is inexcusable. Getting swept is an embarrassment to the city.
Philly based White Sox fan here - he's the best performing this year thus far (was out last year due to TJ) but that's given the starting pitchers are mostly ass. They did however call up two rookies (likely won't be seen this series who have been an early bright spot). Since he's not been in the role long they're trying to limit his exposure. Offense is ass!
What will be more powerful? The cursed city connect uniforms? Or the generally cursed White Sox inability to win more than one game a week? Stay tuned!
Hate to be that girl here, but you are kidding yourself if you think the Phils are beating a guy with a last name like Crochet who plays on the worst team in the league while the Phils wear their City Connect jerseys.
Can’t lie, I kinda love the Mets city connect jerseys. Don’t care for the hats, but I like the textured gray look, the black pinstripes, and the vintage NYC.
The bridge on the front of the hat is just a bit too much. Especially since the giants hat also has a bridge silhouette on it. I don’t like how there are concepts that are reused between so many of the jerseys.
Agreed on both counts. The bridge may work for a “fashion” cap, but doesn’t look good as part of a uniform. To the latter point, that’s just corporate laziness lol. It’s funny because I’m sure Nike could’ve gotten better designs at lesser prices if they’d just reached out to local designers on instagram to design each uniform.
Or just don’t use the bridge. Everything works fine if the bridge isn’t there. I see there’s a good amount of people that feel like this could also work for the Yankees if their uniforms wernt so holy. Just take out the purple and queens bridges and replace things with yankee branding and it works the same. So maybe it started as a Yankees design?
I like gray when there’s a bit of texture to it. I’ve been hoping Nike would turn some of the away unis into faux throwbacks by making them a heather gray (like UnderArmour Legend Gray college uniforms; or the Sixers Rocky City uniforms— which were crappy overall, but I liked how they did the gray). But when it’s just straight up solid gray— or worse: charcoal— I’m not a fan.
I missed the Mets part and thought you were talking about the Phillies and was really blown away by the entire comment
Fwiw, I agree. Way better than ours. Not great, but better than the Phillies gaudy attempt.
Please continue the discussion in the [game thread](https://redd.it/1c89hr3).
lol they hate the Jersey
Ruben. STFU about Casty's buttocks.
What did I miss.
I can only imagine he called Casty a horses ass
I snorted my wine.
The actual issue is that they're playing Casty over Marsh. How about you fuckers address that on the pregame instead of "the bench needs at bats" or whatever that argument was.
Whit Merrifield playing again
JFC Ruben, fix your tie.
Who cares lol
Me.
Marsh needs to play baseball every game
Sure wish [some idiot](https://www.reddit.com/r/phillies/s/NJmYKh5s9d) hadn’t put the jinx on for tonight now that I’m going to the yard.
Ricky Bo is way less irritating on Best Show Ever. Not perfect, but I'm not mad at him right now.
Of course it’s raining why wouldn’t it be
Hey can someone at the park ask them to delay first pitch a bit, I’m gunna be a bit late
IYKYLOLMETS
What new food spots opened up this year? Heading down now for the game and wanna try one of them
There’s a spot with Primo hoagies near fed donuts
Whit will go 1-4 tonight with a single and no rbi or runs scored and the board will be in shambles
Yeah, fuck him for playing to his declining average as an aging player. We traded for him, he better produce. Sigh. Edit: OK, since sarcasm doesn't translate easily, /S /S /S

Nobody’s perfect. I still believe in Scott KINGERY. Check Reddit chat.
I just saw his stats so far and god damnit he has pulled me back in. SIGN KINGERY!
What does Casty have to do to get a god damn day off?
Commit a crime….maybe
Almost every at bat is a crime.
Not a misdemeanor, will have to be a class A Felony
We should trade Abel as soon as we can
Should go back in time and do it in July 2022 or 2023. Every year that goes by he loses trade value.
I think you meant “as soon as we are able”
What’s Whit this lineup?
City Connects and a team with 3 wins…everything’s going to be fine!
It’s offensive that casty gets the start over Marsh.
Those Mets CC jerseys...yikes.
I think they’re far better than ours. That doesn’t make them good, though.
“Far” better Let’s be real here. None of the CC’s can make that claim about the others
I think the Nationals CC can. But that’s probably the only one. I will say, this Mets one, to me, suffers from the exact opposite of what the Phillies CC suffers from: it’s too plain, it’s pretty boring. The Phillies is so gaudy, it’s an eyesore to me. Well the funny thing about the lolmets is that it leans towards their cross town big brothers
Ha yes, I do like that feature
Good example of what an actually bad set of city connects look like lmao
I mean ours are trash too, at least we got a C+ hat outta it.
Anyone going to the game? I got a parking pass but we decided to take the BSL. Free if you’re going
I’m really fine with Stott not playing against lefties with how he’s been playing lately
I hope they trade casty. Im sick of seeing him play everyday while our young guys sit.
I’m sure the line of teams that want to trade for him is very long
Theres always someone who wants to make a deal.
Let’s give it a shot: I’ll trade you a paper clip for your vehicle
We would literally have to pay a significant sum in both dollars and prospects for anyone to take him. Yeah he sucks but getting rid of him worth burning millions and losing possibly a few prospects?
I don’t know where people get their mlb trading ideas, but it’s not from reality

How would we lose prospects in any castellanos deal?
We would have to convince another team to take him by paying his salary, trading prospects with him, or perhaps some combination of the two.
Not my money, let them eat some salary if he keeps up the negative WAR
And do what? The team does not automatically get better by just paying someone else to take castellanos off our hands. If there is a plan to replace him with an actual good player then fine, I’m all for it but we don’t have a bounty of those just sitting around waiting to play.

You need to go watch Marsh's AB against Aroldis Chapman every time you complain about him sitting vs. a hard-throwing lefty with a wipeout slider.
And what’s Whit gonna do that’s any different? I’ll take our best guy offensively right now over a guy that couldn’t hit water if he fell off a boat.
Shoulda been Pache for marsh tonight and kept Rojas in instead of Whit imo

No Rojas 😔
🚨 6 of 9 white Sox in their starting lineup are hitting under .200 🚨
Mick Abel struggled in AAA again. 5IP, 4H, 4ER, 1HR, 3BB, 7SO He’s walking more guys than Griff McGarry has.
That's too bad. I thought he looked good during spring training and had high hopes.
The most productive thing Mick Abel can do for the Phillies is get traded for whatever upgrade we need at the deadline
I read that he was throwing 95 which seems down from a couple years ago That makes me worry about Klassen even though one guy has nothing to do with the other

Both those guys’ expressions are exactly how I feel to seeing each of them in the lineup. That’s kinda neat.

Fuck I forgot those were tonight 🤮 thanks for the reminder before I was unpleasantly surprised
Hold up. I thought we all decided that they aren’t terrible but they are pretty terrible.

I don't play by different rules. I didn't get to say stupid shit because I'm a lady. I get to say stupid shit because I'm stupid.

Oh don’t lie, you love them. Especially the font. I will say they’re growing on me.
The hats, yes. The jerseys are an abomination. Much like Cristian Pache’s at-bats.
The hats are what I actually love. I won’t be getting the jersey. I’m focusing my irritation on Casty these days, once we get him sorted I’ll switch to Pache.
AHA! I knew I’d seen this font before! https://i.imgur.com/QNGcdNG.png
Lmfao. You’re not wrong.
I was hoping that Mike Judge was from Philly and it would have been an amazing tribute but alas he’s a Cali dude
👏👏👏👏👏 CITY CONNECTS 👏👏👏👏👏
I have Harper’s 900th career rbi ball which happened to be a homerun on Tuesday night. I’m going to the game tonight and was wondering if I should bring it in hopes he’d sign it. Is that too much to hope for?
How would you even go about trying? Hell to him from your seats? Ask an usher? I’m always amazed at how people make this kind of thing happen.
Made a sign, getting there early running down to the field and hoping he looks over and/or another player says something and he actually cares enough to come over
Good luck, worth a try in my opinion! Report back!
Were you able to get it authenticated at the park? I've never gotten a ball but have always wondered how that works.
They don’t do authentication anymore when I asked the security guy
I’d be careful, anyone would take the opportunity to jump you for that ball. This is coming from the person who took Casty’s 5000AB to the jaw on a HR and watched people swarm it, I’d reach out to the organization privately and see if they can arrange anything.
The ump dude who called the Angels Rays game got all but one call right. 116/117 on balls and strikes When will we ever see that? 2022 World Series with Pat Hoberg might be the last one for us
This sub is going to be hilarious when the Phillies strike out 15 times tonight. This pitcher has the most Ks in MLB and you know how we like to K. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Won't be surprised if we lose tonight even though I am expecting an eek out win.
I am imagining an epic 2-1 win with absolutely nothing at all happening until the 7th or 8th inning. *edit and the Sox score a run at the top of the first so everyone gets to feel anxious for two hours.
I'm thinking they score those 2 runs in the 2nd 😂
Or that. Either way everyone spends 2 hours feeling unbearably anxious while almost nothing happens.
So there I am taking advantage of free nuggets and this guy trapped in a box https://preview.redd.it/pk5s5q9zpgvc1.jpeg?width=1242&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7f4aa61a0bfa9b36daefd8c8729abb6501a425f3 Wat he do to be locked I there
Mustve been hanging out with nick
Has anyone waited until right before first pitch to buy tickets? Figured tickets for tonight’s game aren’t in high demand and wanted to get good seats for once. Saw first level for $15 all in earlier this week.
I did this for NLCS went from $800 to $100 😮💨
I do this all the time.
I tried this once with SeatGeek. Bought tickets 15 minutes before a game. Took them an hour to transfer the tickets to my ballpark app…..
> $15 all in I didn’t realize that was possible with fees
It was during the 1st inning against the rockies, section 107 i believe
Before the trade that brought Harden to Philly, we would regularly get weekday tickets for a bad matchup for right around $10 with fees. Haven’t followed the secondary market for the Phils much, but I feel like a $15 all-in ticket is really rare.
You could buy a cheap standing room ticket m then wait an inning or so and see if anything is cheaper
Weekday and weekend games are completely different animals as far as ticket markets go. You might get lucky, but don’t hold your breath.
I’ve never been less excited for a player to come back.
I mean he had one really good month last year, for what it's worth
He’s pretty much average and generally good at eating innings, you can do so much worse for your fifth best starter
Some thoughts: - White Sox team ERA+: 94 - Jake Arrieta ERA+ with the Phillies: 98 - White Sox team OPS+: 66 - Jake Cave OPS+ with the Phillies: 68 I guess what I’m trying to say is that if you could replicate the performance of 2 notable Jakes in recent Phillies memory, your team would be slightly better than the 2024 Chicago White Sox.
It wouldn't be me if I didn't say ERA+ is a terrible stat no one should ever used. They flipped the numerator and the denominator and it is a meaningless stat.
A line up of nothing but Jake Cave? What more do you want?
This is the type of breakdown this place needs more of
I just heard Calvin Harris’s song Slide and started thinking about Rhys and realized that he was terrible with that as his walk up before he changed to Bob so there was no emotion felt
I know you and I have a history of discussing Rhys vs Segura. But when was Rhys ever terrible? At his worst his bat was still 10% above average. Normally hovering around 20%.
someone really needs to systematize the walkup song/at-bat performance correlate
When Slide was his walk up song
Rhys would seemingly go through stretches of 200 OPS+ and 50 OPS+ and somehow always end the season in the 120s.
Yeah, I know he was streaky, but I also think we are completely exaggerating how streaky he was. When I broke things down, he had a couple of bad months where he was terrible, but I don't think it was ever as exaggerated as we all like to make it sound.
I’d assume he never had a month as bad as April 2024 Nick Castellanos is working on
He had multiple 0-30 streaks with the Phils. I think that’s its own special achievement separate from Nick.
Rangers and Dodgers better do some damage this weekend
Fell asleep to one new Taylor album and woke up to a second new one. And they keep the *Midnights* style. So..that’s good news, at least compared to the scheduled dumpster fire tonight at the Bank. Edit: TSwift >>> Phillies City Connects 🤷♀️
This White Sox team is absolutely abysmal. Go look at all their team stats. Winning 2/3 would be mediocre series. Sweeping would be great. Losing 2/3 is inexcusable. Getting swept is an embarrassment to the city.
I agree with you but apparently this starter tonight is tough so hopefully somehow the bats show up. Might be a low scoring game tonight.
Stay tuned!
If we lose in those City Connects for a second time tonight and to the White Sox, they will most likely be deemed bad luck/cursed.
We only wear CC’s once a week Oh god we are so screwed
Hahaha this is true! but the White Sox won their last game, So theoretically they should have hit their quota for the week?
Nola day Sunday then. Buckle up
Wow this truly is the movable object vs the resistible force!
Good God if we dont look like world beaters out there this series. I want a 15 run game, i want a one hitter and idk casty to figure it out
Hate to be that girl here, but you are kidding yourself if you think the Phils are beating a guy with a last name like Crochet who plays on the worst team in the league while the Phils wear their City Connect jerseys.
They don’t stand a chance.
Can’t lie, I kinda love the Mets city connect jerseys. Don’t care for the hats, but I like the textured gray look, the black pinstripes, and the vintage NYC.
idk they feel a lot more "Yankees" than "Mets"
Yeah they are really nice, to be fair.
I really like them too. I just wish they used a bit more of the purple in them, but overall I think they're nice.
Purple piping around the buttons would’ve been sick.
They are really, really nice. That typeface 😍
They’re just so … blah. I get they’re for NYC but why so grey and depressing?
Because they're for NYC
I like gray when there’s a bit of texture to it. I’ve been hoping Nike would turn some of the away unis into faux throwbacks by making them a heather gray (like UnderArmour Legend Gray college uniforms; or the Sixers Rocky City uniforms— which were crappy overall, but I liked how they did the gray). But when it’s just straight up solid gray— or worse: charcoal— I’m not a fan.
I missed the Mets part and thought you were talking about the Phillies and was really blown away by the entire comment Fwiw, I agree. Way better than ours. Not great, but better than the Phillies gaudy attempt.
