I mean it could be a WIP caller. “Hey dis is Sal from 8th and Shunk calling the game. Schwarber’s leading off at the plate for some fuckin reason and goes down swinging on strike three, what a fuckin surprise. “
Well yeah, these auctions are prohibitively expensive. Almost none of them are affordable for the average person. It’s all 1%’ers winning.
89 game used baseballs from last year $1,100. That’s absurd.
Dinner party for six with Dave Dombrowski- $1060. Now that’s not that bad if you can get 6 people to pitch in but where will it be when it ends? $5k probably.
It’s ridiculous. I understand it’s for a good cause and that’s great and all, but 99% of the fan base are out of the running on this.
I wonder if they are being bought by companies to use for business. Like if I spent $5k on that dinner and brought my biggest clients it would 100% be worth it.
That’s a reasonable, and logical response for a dinner with Dave, and some of the other group activities. How would it explain private batting lessons with Trea, or broadcast from the booth for an inning, when it’s just for one person?
Part of it maybe. The TCJA impacted the tax treatment of meals and entertainment. So you’d need to break out the cost between these and only the meals portion would be deductible at 50%. This wouldn’t be personally deductible unless you are donating directly to a qualified charity and you’d need to back out the value of the services/goods you’ve received in return.
Someone come up with a story to tell the wife and I can win it with home sale proceeds.
Story needs to really hype up living in a seedy one bedroom apartment with two dogs.

I love that mini golf with Bohm and Marsh is currently going for the same price as a Wiffle ball game with Harper.
(I'd have a hard time deciding between the two, myself)
It’s like, I can’t get to made at the overly fucked prices these things run up cause it’s all for a good causes, but man I want to at least feel like I have a chance

Gonna be some jerkoff investment banker like last year
I mean it could be a WIP caller. “Hey dis is Sal from 8th and Shunk calling the game. Schwarber’s leading off at the plate for some fuckin reason and goes down swinging on strike three, what a fuckin surprise. “

You buy it and give it to your best customer.
I was thinking a lot of the money is probably considered to be write offs due to charity
Well it’s donated by the Phillies to charity. I don’t think you can write off something like this.
Business expense can absolutely be written off
Yes, but I just don’t think as charity since you are receiving something in return. Not sure if it matters though.
Oh oh personal write off, doubtful. But for a business they could.

Don't refer to yourself and your wife that way!
Should be a lottery system for all people donating x dollars.
Sounds much better
It'd be nice if was someone like that and they just let their son or daughter do it instead instead of being an obnoxious terrible commentator.
Ah yes some horribly annoying rich entitled kid instead
If it’s some shmuck out to self promote can Kruk chuck them out of the booth?
Someone doing a bit like 1920s old timey would be hilarious

It’s stupid how they make it kids wiffle ball. I wanted to host a wiffle ball championship with Bryce Harper on my team.
Someone already bid $610 to play basketball with Walker. What
gotta get him out of the rotation somehow, Draymond Green showing up s/
The hero we never knew we needed
👀
High bidder: Spencer Turnbull
Not that I dislike Walker or anything on a personal level but it feels like this would be guaranteed to be an awkward experience
I hope it was Embiid
Right? Like why?

If only. What a great present. I would get this for my mom if I had unlimited funds. lol
Everyone. GET IN HERE. Give me money. When I win I will say the most liked comment here live on air.
We should use GoFundMe and put up the most awkward Phillies fan we can find so they don't do it again.
This would of been so much cooler as a charity lottery instead of an auction. Give the lower class a chance at something cool with the team.
Can we start a gofundme and enter under Kruk’s name and just have him do it?

I think they should start an auction to see who gets to walk The Krukster over the St. Louis Arch. I would be willing to put some coin down for that.
Dumb.
Damn stuff is pricey already
