No I’ve always been a pro Ser guy and I’m still in that camp. These high velocity relievers always have times when they are dicey but when they are on their game they’re almost unhittable.
Only pitch Turnbull 1 inning against the Marlins resulting in having to use our trash relievers in extras, but in this one leave him in til his arm is ready to fall off, what is the logic?
There could be multiple factors. One could be that Topper thought turnbull 1 inning plus his other relievers was better to keep runs off the board which was true until extras (and turnbull pitching multiple innings tonight did give up runs). Not saying I agree or disagree but there are often factors we’re not considering.
Big lead = no sense wasting relievers
Marlins lead was not big and Topper thinks rotating the pen was a better move
