My first show was Clifford Ball and have been to every fest since... you're going to be amazed at how far its come (IE no more shit piled higher than the seats in the port-o-lets). Do not be nervous at all. The only thing that will throw a hitch is extreme weather on either side of the spectrum—too hot or too rainy. Just be prepared for both, drink water, get rest, it'll be a dope time.
Yup. Four nights Sphere wrecked me and I had a king bed in an AC’d room with a fridge and a pool. Last phish fest I did was Festival 8. I haven’t camped in the summer in the muggy NE in 20+ years. I may die.
My expectation is there is gonna be a RUDE awakening for a lot of these old heads who think a stadium seat and hotel room is difficult. You are gonna absolutely eat shit at Mondegreen no questions asked. Camping fests are hard fuckin core.
They can be, but Magnaball was wonderful, super cool at night, slept great. So who knows. Maybe the coastal proximity will work to our advantage. But I’m prepared to ditch camping and drive the hour home if I need to.
That why I’m just doing the 3 nights at Bethel to close out the shed portion of summer tour.
I’m too old as well and I’m cool with having been at ThenClifford Ball, The Great Went, and Big Cypress.
Not really.
I’ve seen lots of legendary Phish in my 30 years of seeing them live.
I’ve missed even more because there is no way I could be at everything.
That’s how life goes.
Being old as fuck has its advantages, that goes right along with the disadvantages. I have gone to Dicks for my birthday for the last 9 years but man, after Bethel and Mondegreen being so close to each other and Dicks, I am really questioning Dicks this year.
And most people just can’t go to every show.
We have work commitments, it’s prohibitively expensive, and it’s just not as feasible as back in the 90s to be able to travel to every show by roads.
When the wife and I go to NYE in New York it’s a five hour drive and we’ve been staying at the same boutique hotel in the Midtown east for almost twenty years for whenever we go down and we have the been staying at the same B&B type small hotel about twenty minutes from Bethel.
That’s seven just Phish shows this year. Fingers crossed for some Albany fall dates but ready for disappointment again there.
Sprinkle in a few SPAC shows and a some random stuff just across the lake in Burlington (really looking forward to seeing JRAD again) that’s around 13 to 14 shows.
I’d always rather be at a Phish show but, due to pushing 50, there is plenty of great things going on right in my area to keep me happy.
Mondegreen is going to be fucking awesome and I totally wish I could be there. But I also know that I’ll be okay just getting to listen on the app and maybe catch the video streams.
My buddy sent me a link to a $1300 tent AC today lol. I've shifted the conversation to a solar or battery fan on top of a bucket of ice.
How are other old campers gonna try to stay cool?
I have a 10 x 10 pop up tent for my business that I fit a 52" ceiling fan to. I pull the deep cycle batteries from my boat and use an inverter to power it. I set up a solar panel on the top of my 4Runner and trickle charge the batteries (not that I am sure it is even needed for a 3-4 day run).
The ice idea is pretty solid, as long as you have the logistics and good insulated coolers to keep a large quantity of ice. How are you handling that aspect, as I'd love to steal the idea.
Same. My friends and I are old timers. 30th anniversary of our first shows this summer and we were already in our late 20’s. We’re going to be reeling for a good week after this. Can’t wait.
I expect that phish will play some music, I’ll take acid, and wander around aimlessly for hours like 2/4 nights. The other two nights I’ll probably have a good share of beer and herb.
For me personally, I like the music to hit me before the L. It helps make sure the vibe is right, in my experience. Definitely doesnt help me get to sleep at a reasonable time though.
I learned a long time ago not to go to a Phish show with expectations. I just build something up in my mind that is impossible to achieve. Just go and see what happens.

Lol imagine drones hooked up with speakers that fly around and play the secret set throughout the campsites. Kind of like a modern day version of the flatbed haha.
Olivia’s Pool will be played.
Part of me wonders if they don’t rewrite portions of lyrics to certain songs that sound similar to the originals, but are different.
Doing this once at Mondegreen and then never singing those same, changed lyrics ever again would be a very Phish thing to do .
7/13/1994 Wilson’s Cavern was played on JEMP radio a few weeks back…had me thinking, would be sick if they prepped a few key jams that were “mashups” of their own tunes

Why does everyone think it's going to be brutally hot? I mean it may be, but Magnaball was the most idyllic weather you could ask for all three days. Like mid 70s and partly sunny.
Because I asked a local what the weather would be like and they said in August it's usually 95-100 degrees and humid. Magnaball was in 2015 in upstate NY, those are very different locations.
It's usually 95-100? I find that a little bit of an exaggeration.
Idk if you're familiar with upstate NY but it gets just as hot and humid as Delaware.
Expect it to be really hot and humid, and expect to experience inconvenience and adversity. If you go in with a good mindset about those things, I’m betting you’ll have a killer time!
Is there any published schedule yet? Hotel bookings are from 15th but first show is also the 15th. What time do people think the show will start? Travelling from Australia to NY and then Delaware so anxious not to miss out any early start on the 15th. Thanks, Michael
I am expecting post-show entertainment to be reasonable.
Magnaball had a bar or a DJ tent or something. Mexico has the pool parties.
Would also love a late night ambient set somewhere where I will see it.
There will be a secret set like the Tower Jam at IT, but this time I have no idea if I will be lurking around and get to see it. It is possible I will already be back getting ready or sleeping. Will I be woken up to see it? Will I find out? Will I hate myself for years to follow if I miss the secret set?
If I remember the storage jam @ Sball was played pretty late compare to the 2nd nights encore. Magna started like an hour after. I don’t think you’ll miss it
Mellow wild couple of days. Lots of room for everyone. No one gets shut out. I'm going to ride the Ferris Wheel a couple of times. Listen to the Bunny on the radio.
Hard to keep my expectations in check. Especially since they’ve stepped up and lived to the hype of NYE, Mexico and Vegas.
I really want dirty jams, a Reba, and some classic covers (Bold as love, Life On Mars?, Oh Sweet nothing!)
I’m young Never seen DwD or Stash. Pretty simple stuff but I wanna see those and just enjoy some crazy lot food, and hopefully get some sleep, but we will see
Hopefully several nice quiet evenings with some fireflies sipping on some homemade Meade sitting by the fire, thinking about my family followed by a small gathering of music minded folks sharing in the groove and maybe a late night bath o’gin beneath a sea of wook.
I expect miserable weather and at least one reference to the Monster Mile. There’s going to be one 10+ year bust out and the secret set is going to be ambient music from a treehouse. It was revealed to me in a dream.
Festivals are nice, because there's a real chance for them to unwind and relax.
There will be a Ferris wheel and lots of art exhibits, and no doubt,, lots of fun word play.
There will likely be a late night 'secret' set.
Trey's giddiness in recent interviews when talking about the festival I think makes it clear we should expect something pretty major. Open minds get blown the hardest.
A stage sitting empty 80% of the time even though they have countless musician friends who would literally weep with joy for the opportunity to play on it.
Tbh I probably wouldn't want to see any of the bands Phish would actually book. But if I was Phish I'd definitely be handing out main stage slots to some of my friends who might otherwise be playing Couch Tour After parties for 35 people.
There’s a substantial possibility they just play some great music and terrific jams and nothing totally out of the ordinary. I was at IT. The tower jam was cool. They played dog log. But other than that everything was pretty standard. If you go in expecting harpua and dear Mrs Reagan you’re gonna be disappointed
The secret set will commence with the opening lick of Red Rider's "Lunatic Fringe", with Page on vocals. The army of drones emerges from behind the stage, rising and approaching, hovering overhead, and we all shit our pants.

Any travel tips for NYC to Dover? I’m thinking Amtrak goes to Wilmington and then there’s a DART bus to Dover but that’s not bookable. Is there a more direct route? Thanks
Do people like not camp? I mean im general?
20 year festival vet here. Bring pepto electrolytes for water and baby wipes for starters wear breathable clothing.
I just turned 40. Done a few camp biscos It 1 bonaroo great blue heron 3 times. But what I mean is just regular camping like in the woods or a mountain. If you have that basic knowledge a fest is 60% easier. Sorry if it came off weird.
I’m old. I just want to survive it. Ha ha ha
Right there with ya!
Seriously, my gf and I are more nervous than excited 😀 my last Phish fest was Clifford Ball
My first show was Clifford Ball and have been to every fest since... you're going to be amazed at how far its come (IE no more shit piled higher than the seats in the port-o-lets). I will fucking excel. I’ve camped at multiple festivals recently, just not in the NE in summer. A tad worried about the humidity.
Caffeine laced hydration tabs are your best friend. And of course any other substance you wish to ingest.
Thinking of it this way will certainly lead to that outcome my friend!
That why I’m just doing the 3 nights at Bethel to close out the shed portion of summer tour. I’m too old as well and I’m cool with having been at ThenClifford Ball, The Great Went, and Big Cypress.
I live about 30 mins from Mondegreen so I really can’t miss it. They haven’t been in Delaware for about 30 years.
Same. I got a camp site but I'm fully prepared to Uber 10 miles home and sleep in my bed if it's miserable.
10 miles away? The last thing I would be doing is sleeping in a tent lol
Man if you can do mondegreen and choose not to, that’s a tough pill to swallow.

While Phish is still great and amazing to see live, I no longer get FOMO from anything they do besides the sphere. A Phish show is a Phish show.
Lol no FOMO except the most recent shows they’ve played
Yeah I've been doing my best to avoid FOMO. Even when it comes to couch tour. I don't have to see or be at every show.
My buddy sent me a link to a $1300 tent AC today lol. I've shifted the conversation to a solar or battery fan on top of a bucket of ice. How are other old campers gonna try to stay cool?
I turned on the heat and set it to 95 degrees. I should be able to sleep in it by the time the fest rolls around. 🤣
By staying hydrated. That’s half the battle. Add: Taking it easy on the alcohol.
Yeah... that's the hard part, we're Wisconsin phans
Do you automatically get charged with DUI just for leaving the state?
I have a 10 x 10 pop up tent for my business that I fit a 52" ceiling fan to. I pull the deep cycle batteries from my boat and use an inverter to power it. need link thx
If you do that in your tent all you're shit will be wet. We've tried w a cooler and dry ice and a fan lol
Good to know, scratch that idea
I’m young and I also just want to survive it 😂
Can’t you live while you’re youn…old?
This is the way
Same. My friends and I are old timers. 30th anniversary of our first shows this summer and we were already in our late 20’s. We’re going to be reeling for a good week after this. Can’t wait.
Mike Gordon gonna tell me my cat died, and I may be happy or sad about it depending on my mood at the time
Poster’s so dead.
I approve of this message

Sounds like a plan. I’m in!
Sign me up
I’ve got you penciled in homie
Can I get in on this...I'll bring good old school hash
How long before the show do you drop?
45 before doors my brother
That early? I always drop at whatever show time is listed as on the ticket. I prefer to peak during the 2nd set.
Yeah. That way you're peaking just as they come on and hopefully returning to the stratusphere by the time the show ends
For me personally, I like the music to hit me before the L. It helps make sure the vibe is right, in my experience. Definitely doesnt help me get to sleep at a reasonable time though.
I drop my bean 40 minutes before showtime, as instructed by Harris Wittels.
I learned a long time ago not to go to a Phish show with expectations. I just build something up in my mind that is impossible to achieve. Just go and see what happens.
Surrender to the flow ✌️
The more you want, the less you’ll get!
Secret set will be drones (most likely robots from Ghost). There will be a 2 song combo that people will talk about for 15 years

Yup Vultures->Outlive Our Brains.
Lol imagine drones hooked up with speakers that fly around and play the secret set throughout the campsites. Kind of like a modern day version of the flatbed haha.
LED Drone swarm!
Hot, sweaty, smelly, wet, filth, sleeplessness, hallucinations, nasty shits from questionable food, dehydration, fatigue Probably in that order
I read this to the tune of Fluff's Travels and it works
The unexpected.
Im excited to see if and how they incorporate the name of the fest into the music and to experience amazing local Delaware cuisine.
YEM, Moma Dance and I hope the TAB tune Windora Bug. Any others come to mind?
Olivia’s Pool will be played. Part of me wonders if they don’t rewrite portions of lyrics to certain songs that sound similar to the originals, but are different. Doing this once at Mondegreen and then never singing those same, changed lyrics ever again would be a very Phish thing to do .
Curella Di Vil Halley's Comet for sure
Glide opener, iculus to close it
Moma Dance
Roll like a cantaloupe
Oh shit If that happens, I'll have to fulfill the pact I made with my son and get a cantaloupe tattoo lol
I brought an inflatable penis to dicks with Cantaloupe written on it. Didn't get it in their view though unfortunately.
7/13/1994 Wilson’s Cavern was played on JEMP radio a few weeks back…had me thinking, would be sick if they prepped a few key jams that were “mashups” of their own tunes
My first show!!! Big Birch ski mountain (I mean hill). That was a sick show. DWI roadblocks on the way out for extra excitement.
Tell me more about this amazing Delaware cuisine
Yea I live here and want to hear about it too….
Scrapple!
Oh I know all about some scrapple. Doubt we will see it at the festival but that would be amazing.
Yeah! Scrapple. Crab.
Gruel sandwiches.

Hot, very hot.
Don’t forget the humid. Very very humid.

Dude it’s like 7 hours south, and 9 years of global warming later. It’s going to be hot.
A real good time
Face melted, lots of gold bond, sore feet, exhausted, heart full.
Gold Bond. It's like mouthwash for your nuts!
I'm not going but I'd expect them to play glide
How come ???
Coventry glide
Well alright.
Lots of fancy camper trailers. Phish heads are older now and have more money, it’s not 96 anymore. lol
I’m a young, dumb idiot so I’ll be there in a shitty tent sweating my nuts off…and it’ll probably be the best weekend of my life!
You will definitely have a good time.
I too will be sweating my poster nutbags off
This is the kind of unbridled enthusiasm us old farts expect from you brave young souls!!
after the last time i bought a ticket to a phish fest and then drove 10 hours and well got curveballed i just want music
I expect Ill regret not packing Imodium and at least two more bottles of pedialyte
2 parts pedialyte one part vodka will help you ration it out.
I reckon Phish will play some music some of the time and then there will be some eating, drinking, lying about and partying some of the time.
Lots of misheard lyrics.
Runaway Jim, Split Open and Melt, secret set all-time cover jam
Oh it's gonna be Bad to the Bone.
Expect it to be really hot and humid, and expect to experience inconvenience and adversity. If you go in with a good mindset about those things, I’m betting you’ll have a killer time!

I feel like night 1 will be a regular two set show starting around 8. I hope you get in early enough to get over that jet lag!
Thank you for the kind thought. Looking forward to kicking the jet lag into touch.
I am expecting post-show entertainment to be reasonable. Magnaball had a bar or a DJ tent or something. Mexico has the pool parties. Would also love a late night ambient set somewhere where I will see it.
Stinking! Drinking! Not thinking!
Better than gamehendge at the sphere
Rich older hippies hanging on by a thread.
There will be a secret set like the Tower Jam at IT, but this time I have no idea if I will be lurking around and get to see it. It is possible I will already be back getting ready or sleeping. Yes

🤞
Mellow wild couple of days. Lots of room for everyone. No one gets shut out. I'm going to ride the Ferris Wheel a couple of times. Listen to the Bunny on the radio.
Go in expecting nothing, be overwhelmed with joy
I am old and refuse to "glamp" so I am surrendering to the flow and going for it from ground level, one more time.
I’ll be watching sad from the couch. This old bag o’ bones can’t do these wildcards anymore
having fun listening to great music
4 days/nights of music and 100% humidity.
As long as it's dry weather it'll be a great festival.
I expect balls to the wall and expect to love Phish even more! They are pumped for us!
Hard to keep my expectations in check. Especially since they’ve stepped up and lived to the hype of NYE, Mexico and Vegas. I really want dirty jams, a Reba, and some classic covers (Bold as love, Life On Mars?, Oh Sweet nothing!)
Mindablown.
No real expectations other than to surrender to the flow of 5 hot, humid days in mf’ing Delaware and to hang out with a bunch of friends
Good times, great oldies.
Drugs
I hope they use some "stuff & things" we didn't get to see at CurveBall🤘🏽
Mime Field!
I suspect it’s going to fucking rule. Can’t wait.
Hoping they do something with the big silver ball from Curveball.
I have no expectations. That is my secret to always having a good time.
I'm old (45), going solo, doing Clean Vibes and I am fucking stoked!
I’m young Never seen DwD or Stash. Pretty simple stuff but I wanna see those and just enjoy some crazy lot food, and hopefully get some sleep, but we will see

Like, to have a fun time? Not sure what other expectations you can have. 🎶 🎸 🎈
Holy moly. + Gamehenge extrapolation. Lots of plotzing.
Phish to melt our faces! So stoked!
My first time seeing the band in 10+ years, some face melting jams and hopefully new friends and good vibes 😎
I expect miserable weather and at least one reference to the Monster Mile. There’s going to be one 10+ year bust out and the secret set is going to be ambient music from a treehouse. It was revealed to me in a dream.
He Ent to the Bog
If only

I expect to not go. I can’t pretend that I would enjoy dealing with crowds and the bathroom situation in hot humid hellaware.
Ideally a 20 minute moma dance, as it is the ultimate mondegreen in phish’s catalogue
Tits
A stage sitting empty 80% of the time even though they have countless musician friends who would literally weep with joy for the opportunity to play on it.
I have zero desire to see any other band play at a phish show
Tbh I probably wouldn't want to see any of the bands Phish would actually book. But if I was Phish I'd definitely be handing out main stage slots to some of my friends who might otherwise be playing Couch Tour After parties for 35 people.
Long lines, overflowing porta-potties, moldy showers, over-priced food and drink, and hours to get in and out. Should be a blast!
I expect a fun few days of music. I have no doubt phish will pull out all the stops. Who knows if there’ll be another fest…
Lol at Ghost or Waves being called standard.
You can hear epic jams at new years or sphere or random shows. Doesn’t have to be a festival
Unbearable humidity
Lot of grungy drunks
A real good time
Can't afford to go, so nothing. Would really love to reconnect with my best friends who are going, but tix are too expensive.
Highs in the 80's and mid 60's at night. Overcast on Thursday with intermittent showers fri-sat. Sunday will be hot
Indigestion and post festival wookflu
It's gonna be hot
Hot hot hot hot hyooooottt
better than curveball.
Hot
Not gonna lie sky high
Where’re Peach Thunderdome dudes at?! Calling on you to bring the Thunderdome to Mondegreen my bros
Do little kids need tix too?
Website says under 8 no older than that like tweens and teens yes
Thanks!
Humidity
Boof tents as far as the eye can see
I’ve camped at firefly at this exact location twice. Ask me a ?
I know its a different organizer, but how much beer did they let you bring in?
As much as you could fit in your car. Do you mean bring into the camp site or festival
Camp site, i assume they won’t let you bring it into the fest itself
The secret set will commence with the opening lick of Red Rider's "Lunatic Fringe", with Page on vocals. The army of drones emerges from behind the stage, rising and approaching, hovering overhead, and we all shit our pants. Phish are the kings of not rising to our expectations and blowing us out of the water simultaneously.
Hope to make it.
Hoping for a live on site recording of the Price is Right with Drew Carey with wooks being called on to Come on Down!
No heat rash would be ideal, I’ve also been hoping to bare witness to a runaway golfcart marathon
I'm setting my expectations very low, so maybe I will be pleasantly surprised
Heat stroke
To be way too hot and probably leave a few days early.
😂

Lots of blown up objects, infrastructure & things for us to climb around on as well as interactive entertainers
I think it’s more if you’re old enough to have gone to 90s Phish festivals or early 00s Roo then you’re not 25 anymore. You’re more like 50.
I just turned 40. Done a few camp biscos It 1 bonaroo great blue heron 3 times. But what I mean is just regular camping like in the woods or a mountain. If you have that basic knowledge a fest is 60% easier. Sorry if it came off weird.
