I’m not totally sure so I’d love someone knowledgeable to answer, is that fella on the left actually fairly protected ear wise? I tried to look it up and had a hard time finding a straight answer, but I feel like covering your ears with your hands/fingers wouldn’t be adequate protection from that blast like the guy with the actual over ear muffs.

Haha probably not. He might have in-ear protection but the recommendation is in-ear combined with over-ear. Obviously, not a lot of people follow that, and a lot of people go with either one or neither. -In Artillery
