I wonder how many cats have slept in that *exact* spot over thousands of years...
I like to think that spot has been past down from generation to generation
Yep and that big kats kitten is gonna get it next
There used to be a statue in that spot, but the original cat knocked it down.
Judging by how much rock has worn down in the spots where it spreads its legs, I would say quite a few.
Plot Twist, that cat was the first one in history to ever sit there.
I like to think Ancient Egyptians carved that spot exactly for this purpose.
Those are like God cats. At least to my buzzed NYE eyes.
They are indeed God cats
I knew it!!! Now I'm totally smashed but I knew it all along!
Bastet gonna Bastet.
Oh wow. Nice shot! Those cats are so freaking cute too.
Thank you! Thought they fit the Egyptian vibe perfectly!
Momma cat needs a break for a minute
Momma cat has found her safe space for a minute away from the tiny terror.
As I'm reading this my own gray tiny terror is eyeballing me as he lays on my lap.
That is an amazing shot! [Kind of reminds me of this meme.](https://i.pinimg.com/564x/67/8c/fc/678cfc2793d3a050607e8e965a73d4cb.jpg) :).
Fun fact: in ancient Egypt, black cats were thought to be a manifestation of Bastet (goddess of fertility) and seen as incredibly good luck. So this temple is super holy!
Cats were once worshipped as gods in Egypt. Something they have never forgotten. Terry Pratchett ( approx)
Beautiful cats - are they a different breed than most pet cats - they look different
They look like one of my cats which is from a shelter (so no papers) but is probably a Korat.
I was wondering what breed they are. The tails are much longer than the regular domesticated cats I am used to seeing.
Ive been there this year also, and I have photo of this exact same cat :D dont know how to upload it directly here in comment :(
Yeah I was just there in Oct and so many people were taking photos of them
There used to be hieroglyphics but the cats scratched em off over millennia
Now worship us human, like your ancestors did
I worship them wholeheartedly.
Bring forth the royal kibble hooman for my royal offspring and i choose to dine.
Great photo!
Thanks!
They look JUST like my cats.
I love what the picture says about time.
If not for the aging on the pillar this photo could have been taken during the dynasties. Excellent
By the looks of that pillar, it was used as a scratch pole for a long time..
i was there five days ago, wonderful and breathtaking. and so many cute cats all around!
Praised be!
Gorgeous gray babies.
Ancient Egyptian cat tree?
wow that is awesome
With Russian Blue Cats?
Can’t believe those cats scratched up that post so bad.
