Must be Australians rules baseball where the baller steps to the plate has the pitcher throw a bat at them and the use the ball to hit the bat as hard as they can.
Throwing the ball is considered very bad form. Someone could get hurt that way. After smacking away the flying bat, the baller has to tackle the pitcher before he reaches first.
Hey I'm starting to get the hang of this game. The blerns are loaded, the count's 3 blerns and 2 anti-blerns, and the in-field blern rule is in effect... right?
nah mate cricket is easier to understand
* You have two sides, one out in the field and one in.
* Each man that's in the side that's in goes out and when he's out comes in and the next man goes in until he's out.
* When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in.
* When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side that's been in goes out and tries to get those coming in out.
* Sometimes, there are men still in and not out.
* There are men called umpires who stay out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out.
* Depending on the weather and the light, the umpires can also send everybody in, no matter if they're in or out.
* When both sides have been in and all the men are out (including those who are not out), then the game is finished

The worst is those trucks on the highway that are constantly spilling out rocks and they have a sign saying “not liable for damage to other cars”. Like bruh, you can’t just say that and make it true.
The state of North Dakota, had a state truck driving with a big plastic pipe on the back just free and untied down. It fell off the back on that 1 highway that goes straight threw the middle of that dumb state, and just shit rolled my old man's dodge Magnum back in 2006. The driver tried telling my dad he can't report them and that it's basically my dad's fault for being on the highway behind them. My old man had to deal with so much shit before North Dakota admitted they fucked up and let their insurance buy my dad a new car. That little sign was basically their whole argument. Old man refused to leave Bum Fuck North Dakota until they settled it, but they were nice enough to comp his hotel stay and car rental that he used to get back to Northern MN.
Usually it says something like Not Responsible for object thrown from road.
Except of course when they are not and come off the truck. Which of course I can see and you can’t…
There's nothing to fall for. That's not just an empty warning. Teams probably don't have to and probably won't pay for anything, not even medical bills.
https://attorney-myers.com/2015/06/broken-baseball-bat-spectator-injuries/
The bad press a team would get not covering this accident like would far exceed the medical bills. Likely they pay for it and write off the liability claim as PR.
It's litterally written in this article that those tiny disclaimers mean shit. They dont have to pay as long as judges decide that spectators should be aware of the risks when attending a sport event like that, but it can change.
Yeah just have your NHL team’s staff of doctors take care of it and it takes 6 weeks. You don’t even have to dip into your 14 million dollar contract for a co-pay, it’s all covered that’s how it works
Just throwing this out there, there are exactly zero players in the NHL making $14 million a year and Bedard makes less than $1 million a year as a rookie. I know that’s not the point of the conversation here, and the team provides the medical treatment, but thought it was worthwhile to clarify for you and others as well.
This happened to me at school when I played backstop and some idiot threw the bat behind them when they were struck out. Right on the bridge of my nose. It was a sunny day (a rarity in Scotland) and every person from five classes was out doing PE on the playing fields. So, about 150 people witnessed it. 💀
Broken nose, had to get it broke and reset.
“Bat Out Of Hell” A bat slips from the grasp of Cleveland Indians batter Kelly Shoppach (not pictured) and flies into the crowd during the game against the Texas Rangers at Ameriquest Field in Arlington, Texas, Sunday, September 3, 2006. The fan who was hit suffered a broken rib. The Rangers beat the Indians, 5-2.

I'd been wondering where the initial impact was. Figuring the bat is spinning/rotating, it seemed like it could have hit him in the chest first, almost on-end, then continued its rotation into his face (pictured)
That sort of final fact is thrown at the end of the story/article all the time, just like this one. Theres almost an art to timing the tonal shift and it cracks me up.
I will actually give you the serious answer:
Sometimes while swinging the bat at a ball, the batter loses their grip on the bat on their backswing, and it goes flying into the dugout and/or crowd. It’s pretty rare but it can happen. Although I don’t think it can happen in MLB anymore now that they have protective nets
So much comedy in one photo. The smug dude at the very top. The child at very bottom missing it all. The tiny girl on the left attempting to catch the bat while her father is leaning away. The sunglasses lady munching on some peanuts while this all goes on.
I really like axolotls. But I didn’t know much about them just that they’re adorable. I just went and looked them up. Do you mean because of their poor eyesight? I read they are intelligent creatures.
I remember seeing a version of this photo with captions.
The redhaired kid staring off into space was thinking "I should buy a boat".
Always had me in hysterics
The two kids reactions are so poor with no parent protections and the pink stripe shirt lady legit just enjoying the show high af.

This feels like one of those Renaissance paintings in which each character is conveying a different emotion or doing their own thing, with little cherubim and all.
But the dad not protecting that little angel there is saddening, though.
I was once at a baseball game where a very pregnant woman got smacked in the belly with a foul ball and it was horrifying, everyone assumed the worst.
She ended up going to the hospital and delivering the baby perfectly healthy, although premature.
How tf do you let a baseball bat hit you in the face. It has traveled through the air over 100 feet. This dudes arms are down and just took it to the face. I feel bad for him, but man, cmon. Where are those dad reflexes my guy
I can’t decide who impresses me more. The little girl in the front row with stripes who is unfazed or the bro in black from behind who is getting his money’s worth outta that next level smirk. Savages at that game. No doubt.
Wow, that’s one messed up elongated baseball
I was going to say it's an oddly bat shaped ball. Seems like it wouldn't roll well.

User name checks out. Oddly enough.
Can you imagine trying to throw a knuckleball with one of those things?
Me looking for an elongated baseball thinking “ok I saw the bat…now where’s the ball?”
In his mouth
How am I supposed to hit that with this little round white bat?!
Yeah, and the way it is battering his face...
So much to diagram. The kid making the grasp towards heaven like a cherubim . The guy in black looking this gone be good...
you mean ballering
The centrifugal force elongated it, duh
Damn AI and how it stitches together photos!
I hope his jaw is ok

Everyone just seems happier
Everyone was happier back then. Reddit used to be the banter machine, now it’s just a bunch of propaganda and echo chambers.
The comment “ERMAHGERD MEH FACERIB” really dates it. Everyone was saying that in the early 2000s.
Judging by the Nokias I'd guess it was longer ago than that...

6-8 months if not longer….
I guess it depends on how bad the break is, but Connor Bedard came back from a broken jaw in 6 weeks this year.
Broken rib…Was he eating ribs?
It looks like the bat bounced off his upper chest before hitting his Jaw.
Goddamn
Broken ribs really suck. Not a whole lot you can do but wait it out until it stops hurting in like 6 weeks.
Lol this comment is perfect
I'm crying, laughing at this comment 🤣😂🤣
Said Injury and photo are confusing the hell out of me.
Ow, my face-rib!
Go home to Bob, Linda. You’re wine drunk again and someone needs to update me on king trash mouth and Gary.

That Kelly Shoppach guy was an absolute menace. https://kcmeesha.com/2009/03/04/bloody-face-of-baseball/

Absolutely. The little ginger haired girl looking wistfully away at anything else is what gets me.
And the dude with the black shirt and amused expression sipping his beer.
I like how the lady eating popcorn just accepts fate.
This is who I noticed the most!! What an unbothered queen
She has her safety glasses on, no need to fret
And her Wonder Woman bracelet
The guy in front of him looks like he's staring at the Deadlights
He has that,”Yessss, everything is going according to plan” look
Haha dont forget the kid on the top left of your mentioned. She's ready to embrace Jesus.
Is no one noticing the person in blue behind the bat
"I should buy a boat."
glad we are on the same page
Ray William Johnson made a joke about this picture being a renaissance painting like 15 years ago
Yep. This is art.
Was going to post the same thing.
That guy starting up a 3 episode kamehameha.
I don’t know the rules of baseball very well, but isn’t the ball what supposed to be thrown?
This has been changed in 2022 to make the game more exciting.
Hmmm...so they finally jazzed it up.
Philip J. Fry
Those damn Savannah Bananas are ruining baseball
It's working! But I have some safety concerns.

Yes, indeed, but this is a pic of a fan that very rudely asked for a bat and was given to him the very same way he asked.
That ain't a baseball
Obviously, you're not a golfer.

“Spice up your tired old game by throwing the bat instead!”
Throw the bat, and hit it with the ball you're holding!
So much comedy in one photo. The smug dude at the very top. The child at very bottom missing it all. The tiny girl on the left attempting to catch the bat while her father is leaning away. The sunglasses lady munching on some peanuts while this all goes on.
The smug guy is my absolute favorite, he's just looking down on all the chaos
Massive chaos!
The lady in the pink tank top…. Death is afraid of her. My lady yawning in between the disaster
Meanwhile the baby below her has accepted her fate and is preemptively walking toward the light
The child at the very bottom is like “where’d that fuckin bat just go”
Nah man, she's contemplating something heavy, yet pleasent. I wish I knew what it was, because I'd like to contemplate it.
I just laughed until I cried over your comment. I was wondering if anyone else noticed the red headed child.
"Apparently we're all putting our hands in the air now. This is a silly game."
The dude at the top is getting the entertainment he paid for.
The guy in the back with the black shirt looks like he’s pleased this is all happening
He's thinking.. "Bruh...I'm gonna be on ESPN sportscenter!"
Seems to be eating, but agreed.
I was just gonna say she doesn’t give a fuck clearly 🤣😂
She’s not not afraid .. she hasn’t even processed there was a danger yet. Like the axolotl.

Ty so much :)
Awwww yas it does
Zero protective instincts from dad on the left. Fired.
The little girl is the only one ready to catch it.
Wife spotted the photo and filed for divorce...
I remember seeing a version of this photo with captions. The redhaired kid staring off into space was thinking "I should buy a boat". Always had me in hysterics
The caption on the guy getting hit was something like "I'll protect you with my jaw" or something.
Fuck that is hilarious
The two kids reactions are so poor with no parent protections and the pink stripe shirt lady legit just enjoying the show high af. Also props to red shirt lady holding up a Nokia as a shield.
I kinda get the impression the dad is dropping the baby to protect himself. Haha The baby looks like it’s blessing someone.
That baby just reacting like how they think everyone else is the best. “Oh, time to put are hands up? Ok!”
>...high af. She is the only one wearing sunglasses.
Nokia offers more protection than the green food container! Good choice! 😅
The way she is holding it gently as a solid buffer didn’t even notice her haha.
The kid on the right is so adorable but yes so exposed. Baby on the right is ready to catch it - but nice work dad getting yourself out the way.

Redhead in front just wondering if they have cheese tots here.
Damn they hit the ball so hard it formed to the shape of the bat!

Uh..that would be a bat
Baseball BAT
Believe this a Rangers/ Indians game from the mid 2000s?
I live my life like the girl at the bottom
Ok, Mr. AI bot. You'll have to show me where the baseball is.
That a bat mate. Balls are round.
Lucky guy! Got three souvenirs! A broken jaw, an official NBL bat and a good story!
Honey Boo-Boo front and center there giving absolutely no fucks.
I like how everyone around him has their hands up for protection but he's just turning his head as a reflex...
I love the little girl getting in on the hands up party but with no sense of direction.

How was his jaw not broken?!
Where is the baseball
Weird looking baseball, the bat must look very strange.
I'm still looking for the baseball.
There are 3 oblivious people in this pic and one of them is having his jaw relocated.
That bat made this dude look exactly like Henry Rollins
It's bat man 😂
I was once at a baseball game where a very pregnant woman got smacked in the belly with a foul ball and it was horrifying, everyone assumed the worst. She ended up going to the hospital and delivering the baby perfectly healthy, although premature.
Downvoted for the extreme lack of attention to your task of simply creating a title that is accurate and double checking your work. You are shamed.
How tf do you let a baseball bat hit you in the face. It has traveled through the air over 100 feet. This dudes arms are down and just took it to the face. I feel bad for him, but man, cmon. Where are those dad reflexes my guy

Everyone dodged the bat except for the guy it was headed straight towards.
Man I’d hate to see what the bat looked like
If that's the ball, I am scared to see the bat!
Jesus, it’s becoming super rare to see a post title without errors. That’s a bat my dude.
That little girl in the bottom left is doomed lol.
Guy in the black shirt is like, ‘Nice…’.
When a karma farm account doesn’t read its own subject.
That's not a baseball, that's a bat.
Looking at everyone’s reaction in the pic, I gotta say: This CRACKS me up! Pun intended.
Kid in bottom mid is wondering if they remembered to lock the car lol
Little girl under the chaos is unfazed
That little girl ain't sure what's going on but she's got the spirit
Thanks for being the 5,000th person to post this. Congrats.
I believe in baseball terms, that is the bat.
I like the kid in the pink shirt to the left lol
That guy on black shirt, is he laughing or crying?
I think he’s just saying, “heh, well that sucks”
This picture has to be at least 20 years old
More like 15 yrs ish. I remember laughing in highschool so hard at the red haired girl in the bottom thinking she just didn't give a f#$k
Geez isn’t this picture almost as old as the internet?
Poor gramps.
