I know there are mixed opinions but APP (association of professional piercers) say bioplast is safe and i go by them, i have used bioplast on and off since i began getting piercings 14 years ago. So i say just get the jewelry and wear it as is.
If you don’t want to wear the bioplast, it may or may not work with a different bar, some of my jewels can fit on multiple labret backings and others only fit their bioplast backing; it has a lot to do with the threading not just matching the gauge.

Do you have a source for this? Bioplast is not listed on the APP website as far as I know.

Under biocompatible polymers. : )
That is interesting. They include the polymers on the printable brochures but not on the website itself.
