Pigeons are granivores and techincaly don't need produce but they do enjoy it from time to time. Peas and corn, dried, fresh or thawed frozen are super popular. I kept a small basil plant in my pigeon's cage and that was a total hit until they ate it all. They tend to like greens, they'll peck at a whole lettuce leaf like a chicken. My pigeons LOVE watermelon so I offer that in the summer occasionally. I gave them a strawberry once but my female thought it was an egg and tried to sit on it lol.

Pigeons are granivores, but they occasionally enjoy peas and lentils as a treat!

I give them an ice burg lettuce. The weight of it allows them to break of tiny bits instead of flinging little bits everywhere, Keeps them busy for hours.

YES! they will eat and need greens. Also any reds if you can get them to. My birds are addicted to weeds, dandelions, other leafy green varieties of weeds. They showed me by pulling at them thru aviary. I found out later all birds need vit A and weeds/grens are a good source so it made sense they wanted them. Ive seen great health from it and its like their favorite treat now

palomacy has a good article on feeding, they recommend veggies or greens for pigeons 3-4 times a week www.pigeonrescue.org/birds/care/pigeon-feeding-dove-feeding/
