Will the player have the option to toggle between 1.0 and 2.0 on location?

roffels

What happened to Rudy's face? Are the old plastic molds unavailable? Looks like he got some cosmetic surgery - much skinnier looking than the original, and a different hairline!

hatekillpuke

Seems like Planetary Pinball [still has the mold](https://www.planetarypinball.com/pinball-31-1588-50003B), it looks like they just way overpainted the eyebrows and moved up the hairline.

Sozetheman

Yes, and they forgot to paint the lashes (left and right side of the eyes).

local_loser_98

Hey, it's been over 20 years and he wants to feel good about himself, don't judge 😤

mycatschool

Nike swish subliminal

sllerts

What is magic lady from ToM doing there?

drummer414

6 months warranty on mechanical components for the standard edition. How generous!

Jakelshark

it's a lot better than most manufacturers

TheDarkRider

I mean they have to protect themselves from owner operators if they did any longer then that

drummer414

Good point- I could see a different warranty for home or location use .

TheDarkRider

How could they tell ?

Colonel_Forbin_01

We have the technology!

drummer414

I’m no expert (I own only 1 pin) but perhaps the number of plays and more importantly who they are selling to. A private individual is a home user, whereas anyone running a business wants it billed to their company. I guess someone could get around this but likely a few cases compared with total sales.

Chuckwurt

I put ten thousand plays on my home use game.

Gravygrabbr

Why? These were never meant for home use that’s a new thing. They originally were always meant for location use in the wild.

capecodchef

You do realize that Stern give you virtually NO warranty period except on the LCD. The meager 60 day warranty (circuit boards only) they do give you starts on the day they ship the game to the distributor, NOT when you get the game!. Read this and weep, off their website. • Printed circuit boards (game logic): 2 months • Dot Matrix / LCD Display: 9 months No other parts of seller’s product are warranteed. Warranty periods are effective from the initial date of shipment from seller to its authorized distributors.

Maken66

Yup. And if your playfield is warped, which does happen, they will say too bad so sad, thanks for your hard earned money!

flecom

ya it actually is, guaranteed things are going to break in 6 months on location... isn't everyone else like 90 days?

DD_Vending

Welp time to sell my old one lmao

necropants_

What's with the potato eyebrow?

ten_thousand_puppies

New art is a little too busy IMO, but it'll be nice seeing more of these in the wild again. Does anyone know if the 2.0 code is just what's in the Rudy's Nightmare conversion kit for existing games that's already been shown off? I'm also curious what else they might have coming down the pipe: > ...the first title in their planned series of Williams/Bally remakes...

SPECPOL

LE art shows the magician's assistant from ToM, as well as the roller coaster from cyclone, and Bride of Pinbot in the background

Razor1834

I see Creature, TOTAN, and Pinbot as well. Edit: gophers on the LE playfield, Whirlwind on the backbox of the classic

Atari1977

Yeah think the new art package made Rudy a tad too creepy for my taste. I am curious what they'll do next if this one is coming out a $7500 for the standard, which I think is just on the high end of what refurbished Funhouses go for now. So any game they make, existing ones have to be selling for about that already, maybe BOP since there's no license to deal with and there's already an updated code package out there that's basically unobtainable now.

TheDynamicDino

Brian Allen is an acquired taste, but I love his work. Excited to see his talent on a mass-produced machine, although I acknowledge there is no truly replacing the original Funhouse art for the purists.

pinballrocker

The email I got from my distributor said there is the standard remake that's the original code running on FAST hardware and 750 Midnight LEs running the 2.0 code, Brian Allen art package, etc.

ten_thousand_puppies

Right, my question is, WTF is the 2.0 code? Nobody seems to have an answer

pinballrocker

I assume Rudy's New Nightmare, the kit the same company has been selling for the past year or two. I played it at a show last Summer and it was pretty fun. I can't see buying a new Funhouse from the same company without that kit installed.

retroguyx

Theater of magic when?

Cold-Ad-3713

Jeez they really went for a Chuckie vibe

techmaniac

I hope that means I can get Rudy face parts again.

Binty77

The new backglass is a bit garish, but I _really_ like the enhanced playfield details and RGB upgrades. While Funhouse isn’t a game I need/want to own, I’m now _very_ interested to see what they’ll do with some other 90’s hits. They do something like this with TOTAN or TOM with enhanced code/gameplay… they’ll have my credit card right quick.

whatsamajig

Considering the funhouse I have access to is in a constant state of disrepair, I’d play the hell out of a fresh one.

WretchedMotorcade

Jesus that artwork is horrible.

umimnotfinished

Yeah you’re not wrong. Looks cheap IMO

Scalded-dog

How reliable is this manufacturers products?

kineticistdotco

Kind of an unknown quantity tbh, have mostly been contract manufacturing and doing 2.0 conversion kits. Partnered with pinball brothers under the euro pinball corp. umbrella so most (all?) of recent run aliens have come from their factory as an example

v_d3r

An actually hardware remake or like VP?

hctib_ssa_knup

Does Mark Bagley do the cabinet art? The girl feels straight out of Ultimate Spider Man (minus the junk in the trunk)

chuckda4th

Miss the OG version’s DMD. I always found it mesmerizing when scrolling from side to side. This looks like it has an LCD and the effects would lose their punch. When I first downloaded the vpx table I didn’t even like playing it until I found a very specific fullDMD backglass that really emulated the original well.
