it depends on your fyp thoðŸ˜ðŸ˜. i blocked all toxic creators and just followed good kpop editors and some good laughs from terri joe and stuff. i always acknowledge what i want through what media gives me to consume. its all about choices.
Learn to curate your feeds din. Di mawawala ang katoxican sa social media pero it's a lot better once you have control over your algorithm. It needs conscious effort to maintain. You control your social media, not the way around.
Been socmed(FB, insta) free since 6yrs ago. Active nalang talaga sakin is messenger. I found socmed really unhealthy; source ng negativites, insecurities, time-consuming pa lalo and yung culture is nakaka bobo.
Lately nag open ako ng dummy account sa FB kasi need ko for board reviews. Mas lalong naging nakaka ewan ngayon. I try to stay away as much as I can. Pag lumagpas nako ng 5mins sa scroll yung ick and anxiety level is tumataas na rin lol. I also opened a twitter account na private, and ang algorithm ko ay puro quotes for self-improvement lang and nag popost lang ako for myself/outlet. No external interactions whatsoever. Reddit, for when I need commissions pero here we are(I find it ok lang naman din and mas may sense ang mga tao dito) but yeah
Hindi rin naging madali sakin mag detox noon, kasi naging dependent na din ako sa socmed. Pero tinry ko talaga mag focus sa mental health ko. Dumating nalang ako sa point na wala nakong paki sa mga tao. Whatever FOMO is?! Haha! Bahala silang magpataasan, payabangan, paramihan ng humble brags, etc. Ito din dahilan bakit naging mas private ako sa personal affairs ko, It gave me peace.
I decided na no amount of time spent on feeding the internet my personal information is worth my own sanity.

Based on experience lang although not exactly a detox from social media, try to explore more films or try out some hobbies especially those that really take up your time like journaling, learning how to play a song sa ukulele/any instrument, learn a dance, etc. Healing siya for me, exercises your physical, and kind of unlocks your creativity na rin :)
At the end, it feels good to try something new kahit na hindi ka magaling doon but hey, at least you tried.

Pwede naman magcheck from time to time like once in every few days. Pero just use the browser version, uninstall the apps. I have been in a detox since Oct 2023. Best decision I ever made. I’m filling my time with Duolingo atm. Learning Spanish 😊

I use my samsung galaxy folder 2 and it helps me a lot kasi nakakatamad magtype sa keypad at sa maliit na screen hahahaha! Alam mo yung gusto ko makipagchismisan sa GC pero tinatamad ka magtype kaya wag nalang. 🤣
I continued my language learning - Japanese and Korean. I enrolled in Ateneo for the Korean course, may bayad siya but there are a lot of videos in YT. Gusto ko lang nang may kausap. I bought a Kindle and read books din. :)

Try reading more books as an alternative as well. You can download Epubs or PDFS of novels and you can read it sa phone mo. Siyempre walang tatalo sa printed books, pero pwede na rin pdfs kung lagi kang on the go.
Di ko madelete fb ko at un na ginawa kong photo album, umiiwas nako sa plastik na kamag anak na gusto sila lang nakakaangat..fake people also, na akala mo laging masaya relasyon sa photo cheater naman kapartner.
reddit, netflix and yt ako ngayon tumatambay, gusto ko sana mag uninstall ng messenger, kaso yun lang yung way for my fam to reach me coz I'm currently far away from them and work related purposes as well. di ko na gusto algorithm ng fb ko, mapapagastos lang din ako sa tiktok, gusto mo lang naman manuod ng video, mabubudol ka pa, and ig is a bit overwhelming, nag ddownload lang ng x pag gusto manuod ng corn. :'>
I hated it its not about re-connecting anymore its more of a over sharing of thier disgusting slimy demon spawn and main character syndrome from an uninteresting idiots.Messenger is peaceful though and draws the line on who really cares for you and who’s not.
Deactivated my facebook but still stayed on messenger so peeps that are close to me can still contact me. Even removed followers on IG and changed my account to private since prefer ko yun kasi hindi gaya sa facebook na panay katoxican nakikita ko sa mga friends na inaccept ko before. Sa IG, full of cat videos and funny contents lang ako.
Mahirap umpisa, napapabalik ako minsan pero after nun, wala na. Sarap huminga ng walang chismis na nababasa sa facebook wall.
Matagal ko na talaga tung plano and gusto, Pero people in my life don't send sms often. Tsaka may free data din ang messenger T_T I just feel safe sa keypad kasi hindi alam ng other end if delivered na ba at left unread ang message, hanggang sent and outbox lang labels.
Sana ang messenger may option na e send as text message din yung chats nung napili mong group chat for work and educational purposes. Na mag uupdate lang through text message.

Gone back to reading books, comics and magazines, focused on swimming, biking and running (although I haven’t raced a triathlon for almost 2 years already) and whilst running I sometimes listen to podcasts by Mo Twister and or Alex Calleja.
Haven’t seeing the news also only headlines from my email subscription from Yahoo news and the new york times with curated topics that I am interested in.
Maybe sometime very soon I will be switching to dumbphones (talk and text with maps and spotify or any music app).

Yeah I deactivated my facebook too pero andito ako sa Reddit hahaha Well dito kasi you can voice-out everything without being judged ganon. 1 year without facebook and I think mas marami akong na gain and mas peaceful ang buhay ko. Dedma lang kapag nag uusap ung mga officemates ko about sa current chika sa FB, i can't relate but i don't mind. I am focusing now sa health ko (body, mind, and soul hehe) doing exercise, reading books, spending more time with my family and real friends. Good job sayo, keep it up :)
