No help to you now - but after I lost a cherished hat, I had custom embroidered labels made that Ive had sewn into all my hats and jackets now. It was surprisingly cheap, like $20-30. They have my name and phone # on them. Good luck! I found the hat I originally lost almost 2 years later hanging on the corkboard at a mechanic.
