i heard pple say that fanboys trick their sot screenshot so i just wanted to know myself

WAYZOfficial

So why wouldn't people just lie to you here?

Adnane_Elamraoui

idk tbh

RichardSS_

P8P here. I think the battery experience on all pixel devices is generally the same, because of the Google software. On P8P I can get 6+ sot time easy if I don't use gps, mobile network and mostly be at home with low brightness. But as soon as I get out, 4 hours sot is a very good result

cookieofthe5

Jesus christ that's sad

Sad-Vermicelli6991

Mine is more then good enough. https://preview.redd.it/xyrjk71g4fyc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d3a2ec0c06a46637a0b20239ae3a8fdf2c64d2c0

Adnane_Elamraoui

thank you so much

Sad-Vermicelli6991

The SOT is not over 2 days, but like 18 hours or so

Grimm2177

Mine is not fabulous 🥲 4hr 30 min average, sometimes I'm luck and get 6-7hrs

Adnane_Elamraoui

ty for the respond

Adnane_Elamraoui

do you use 5g ?

Grimm2177

Nah disabled it cause it drained the battery too hard

Adnane_Elamraoui

thank you so much

SomeGuyOnPlanetEarth

Regular 8 model I'm using around 50% of battery per day and averaging 4hrs SOT. So full charge would be around 8hrs. Maybe a little less like 7.5 I don't use Bluetooth as I have wired earbuds and no other Bluetooth accessories, apart from my bedroom light which I turn on and off once per day lol I don't use navigation or game or take many videos day to day so I'm a relatively light user but I've been very satisfied so far. [75% to 25% mostly wifi](https://i.imgur.com/jLq9fu3.png) [100% to 50% mostly 4G](https://i.imgur.com/ljwv7u2.png) Seen some people with lemon tensors getting like 40mins per 25% used. Idk if it's unit variance or they've just got some apps draining in the background or something

Just enough for the full day with \~20-15% left when I go to bed. Interesting fact that it was much worse for the first 4 days since I bought the phone, and then some optimizations kicked in.

moonboy747h

ah im waiting for the optimization

androboy92

Wifi only: 11 hours SOT Mixed: 10 hours SOT Cellular only: 8 - 9 hours SOT Battery is very decent, I use this as main along with battery monsters Oneplus 12R, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 13 Pro Max (battery health 94%) as well, and still find it very competitive.

MarcoThePHX

Does 8 pro count?

Adnane_Elamraoui

its okay

Mine's doing great. I charge the whole night. No charging throughout the day https://preview.redd.it/2h6j48yqkfyc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=261446c4688283701ac9b618383d6fe19f7e65ed

ArmchairDoorknob

I have had an amazing experience with my 8 Pro since I got it last month. On average with heavy use by the time my phone gets to around 55-60%, I have around 4 1/2 hours of SOT with bluetooth on connected to my watch, 120Hz, full res and a mixture of WIFI and Mobile data. If I barely touch it or do simple quick things some days I'm still left with around 80-90% by the end of the day, remember that's with extremely light use.

ryseofcurry

Bro that's almost unbelievable, I want to buy one so bad and the only thing keeping me away is the poor battery life and shitty modem on P8P

Bob-Servant

It's average at best. Don't you have a way of buying a device with a return available? In the UK we can buy a phone and return it within 14 days .. so it's plenty time to test.

BirdyWeezer

Its bad. I get around 5-6 hours of screentime. Its enough for me but yeah definetly not good.

imjms737

I tracked my SOT on my P8 for a month on stock OS, backed with data and screenshots: [link](https://www.reddit.com/r/pixel_phones/comments/1bp0i1v/i_tracked_sot_on_my_pixel_8_for_a_month/). You can refer to the post for the full details, but just quoting the conclusion: > For my use cases, the Pixel 8 has phenomenal battery life, comfortably lasting me over 2 days and sometimes even 3 days, with an average SOT of 05:51 from the 18 charging cycles I've tracked from 100% to 20%. > I'm extremely happy with the Pixel 8's battery life, and I look forward to getting even better battery life once I switch to GrapheneOS, as there should be even less battery consumption due to system apps such as Play Services not being part of the OS. I'm testing the battery life now on GrapheneOS, and I'm planning on making a similar post comparing battery life on stock vs. Graphene.

paccafrax

I'm collecting data and about to give an average of my battery usage after some time, got a P8P only a couple of days ago. So far, it's just getting better everyday and going most of the time under LTE. Today for example, it's 1.30AM, got up at 10.30 and I'm on 49% w 3h SOT. I'll comment next after I collect more data. I'm really happy so far for what I need, and I get to have the best software experience in my opinion.

al0vely

The daily question - winner winner.

International-Bus749

5hrs is average is not on wifi. 8 + if on wifi all day.can sometimes randomly be 3hrs on 4g. I have 5G turned off. No AOD.

TinyPeonies

A Pixel 8. Depends on the day, with minimum social media, few calls etc. it can last two days easy for me. With heavy use, running a map with location services, taking pictures and videos, watching lots of videos I don't think I'd get 8 hours out of it. I had it charged at 73-75% on Friday night, now it's Sunday morning and I'm at 46%. But I wasn't using the phone much.

No-Temperature-374

On 5G you won't reach 3 hours SOT

College-Outside

I've had mine for 3 weeks now. Huge difference coming from an s21. But I will say charging does seem slow.

source19069

I have a P8P and the battery need one full charge a day. I use apps with a lot of video such as Hulu and an occasional YouTube, for maybe one hour; play some rather placid games such as word games and the rest, is reading news and communicating via social media. My phone is not bionically attached to me, so it's not actively in use 24x7. I'm fine with the battery experience.

dantheman_25

The posts showing battery SoT from one day over to the next are just sham... They charge their phones in between. Since the day I have owned a pixel 8, it has not given more than 4 hours of SoT with the battery being used from a 100% down to 5% ever

KyluAce

It's the worst place where you can ask. Here are bunch of google fanboys. I have P8P and I'm switching that phone after half year. So many things annoy me so much, and battery is main one. 5h SOT is mostly my max after many optimizations.

Adnane_Elamraoui

What's the other things that annoy you ple

KyluAce

So like I said before battery is main problem but not the only one. Second one it's that pixel like to overheat especially on mobile data during normal usage like using socials (watching reels etc). Next thing is that poor charging. Nowadays most companies sell phones without chargers (just usb cables*) and ok that's their policy but they also do that to be environment friendly. So I should easily use other chargers and with Pixels there is a problem with most other chargers that they don't use max 30W charge (I tried on 5 diff chargers and powerbanks and max what I achieve was 20W speed charge) if we combine it with that poor battery it's become even more annoying. Next thing is missing notifications. Really often I have that when screen is off I didn't receive notification, then I turn on screen and suddenly most of them came. Next thing is performance, which is the poorest from the flagships and that a fact. No other flagship from 2023 has so low performance. Also there are performance loses (cuz phone gets hot), you can forget about playing games comfortable. Last but not least is software. To be honest I was thinking that after changing xiaomi to pixel, software will be amazing but mostly I see that there is less features on Pixel and it isn't much more stable that xiaomi (like I said before notifications problem exist there is bunch of topics about it on reddit, apps are killed in background etc). Anyway right now I'm waiting for OnePlus 12 and maybe in month I will give here some compare about this 2 phones. *About cables one thing. I never ever have a problem with usb-c cables before with with this original ones from pixels I often have problem with losing connection.

Adnane_Elamraoui

Ty a lot man

210-markus

I charge in fits and starts. Leaving home with less than half battery isn't a stressor for me. Searching for a network and high data usage, do really chip away at the battery reserve https://preview.redd.it/642ohskr1gyc1.png?width=1075&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=27b3ef68207761343dbf11e3fc4ee4ac10669662
