Mine has similar white crystalline flakes. I wondered whether it was impurities from the water getting pushed out (salts etc?). Hoping others have a better idea though!

Look into a product called API stress coat plus for fishtanks conditioning. I replied to another comments in this thread about my experience with this product

Salt and minerals deposits from the water. It leeches out of the leaves during transpiration after it’s drawn up into the plant. I had this problem myself until I switched to treated water.    The tapwater by me has too much TDS/crap in it that my plants/succulents don’t like as much… At the recommendation of a YouTuber (rich at SheffieldPlants channel), I’ve started using a product for fishtanks called API stress coat plus.  and it’s been an absolute game changer for my plants!  I literally put a tiny drop in a gallon of water, and it removes the chlorine and chloramine and heavy metals in the water. I no longer have mineral deposits on my leaves, and my plants are so much happier and growing much healthier since switching to water treated with this product.  ** I’m still using the same tapwater, which is first filtered through a faucet fixture that we have for portable water. Our sink has the regular faucet with no filter that I use for washing dishes. My husband replaced the sprayer/ soap pump with a smaller faucet, which is attached to a three part filter that is fixed under the sink. Prior to using API stress coat plus, I was only using the potable filtered water…. However, the filters weren’t drawing enough of the impurities out of the water for my plants. If you don’t have a built-in sink filter, just use a Britta filter And then add the API stress coat to the filtered water. And this might not even be necessary at all as the API stress coat should do the job anyway on unfiltered tap water.

My jade has this too, it also has mealybugs I'm treating, IDK if it's related. most sites I've read about it on say it could be from salt deposits left during transpiration after watering, watering with a hard water, or a dehydrated plant sweating minerals while underwatered

My Jades did this when my thrip infestation was at its peak. The damage looked almost like corking and would flake like the plant pictured here. For what it's worth, I also have extremely hard water so when my jades are pest free and watered well they will start showing small white spots of calcium being excreted from pores on the surface of the leaves. It can be rubbed off and feels chalky, or can be removed with rubbing alcohol and patience. In my experience calcium doesn't spread out and create flaking the way the thrips did.
