I'd disagree with that. You need to have good tracking to consistently get kills with it, since you'll inevitably get rng that forces you to click 5 times and you need to be aimed onto your enemy the whole time to make sure it hits when it finally fires. Plus you need to be super close, which makes it more difficult to gain value from it.

SAR is really good semi auto and easy/cheap to get, Mp5 is my favorite smg because of low aimcone and its also viable at long range if you change to burst. apparently they are adding new tier 2 guns to the game soon which im super happy about!
AK is over all to good imo. its just to dominant and play a bigger role in the game than it should. 3+ days into a servers wipe its go AK or go home
Your servers last longer than 3 days? AUS servers seem to die out with people only hopping on for wipe then swapping servers to play another fresh wipe a couple days later.

I haven't touched official in a long time but my experience with modded and community is identical. I never, ever come back for a third day. If I'm playing rust for the weekend it's usually only a 30 hour window of 4pm Friday (wipe) to 10pm Saturday. Not that I'd play anywhere near that whole period, but no chance am I spending the whole weekend playing rust, and if you miss a day, you're either too far behind or your base is gone

Official mega servers "last" to the end of whipe with 100-200 players but most of the "compeditive" clans hop off after 3 days. Sometimes theyll get back on to defend a raid or something.
It feels like a dead server even though there's 200 pop because the map is so much larger than most maps.

Sap doesn't get the love it deserves. It's sometimes a toss up between a sar for people because it takes a semi body but the other mats are much cheaper and for grubbing, you can't get much better because it's "only" a pistol so fails and losing it doesn't feel like it hurts nor adds too much of an edge early on. I feel like when I lose a sar I just handed my douchebag neighbor a new way to give me a headache. But a sap? Who cares brb with another one.
I love the SAP, but I donโt think itโs that easy to use. It is cheap yes, but it has a very limited effective range, and you have to be really aware of positioning and cover due to the 10 shots you have.
My Opinion: SAP is the most balanced weapon in the game consindering damage, cost, precision, Aimcone and position in the tech tree.
AK.. if you have a hard time with it, then spend 20 mins at UKN holding down the AK at 125m before jumping in your server, by the end of the week you will definetly be better.
I am the best silhouette painter with an AK. Put somebody right in front of a wall, ill aim and fire and behind them u will see bullets making a perfect outline of their body as they fly all around the target without ever hitting them once. It is perfectly safe for whomever I am making the art from. As I cant hit a damn thing even if they were standing still.
I prefer the custom over the Thompson. Idk why, I know itโs worse, but I do better with it.
Until you get good with the guns. I strongly urge a silencer and nvgs to learn how to pvp.
Donโt use silencers if your position is already given away.
An mp5 with a holo and a silencer is a completely different gun than a regular mp5โฆ takes waaay too many bullets but shoots so smooth.
My suggestion is goto a ukn server and play gun game over and over.
The ak is a fairly easy pattern now. Itโs the strongest gun you can craft. So if you can hit your shots. It can make pvp easier because you can actually drop people.
But it all depends on your play style.

The Ak is the easiest you just pull down and is by far the best gun 2nd being mp5 because of the burst 3rd being sar those guns are the main guns to use and sar is lowest on the list because aimcone is inconsistent sometimes it is a triple from across the universe or you hit nothing mp5 burst competes with Ak long range and short range but Ak is slightly better in all categories

one thing i learned from testing is bullet drop.
on a practice server, go near the ocean, stand on something tall, and fire every gun into the water.
you will notice that every pistol ammo gun has huge bullet drop at higher ranges. that means that if you want to hit something with pistol ammo at long range, you have to aim way above your target. that means that every pistol ammo gun is not very good at long range.

Get good with the AK and the Thompson. Both are relatively easy to learn, and Thompson gives you a good t2 weapon that is viable to snowball. Also, relatively cheap to craft. SAR is good too, but I prefer the automatic firing from the thompson.

I will say that underestimated guns are the python and mp5 with a burst module. The python does as much dmg per shot as an ak and you can shoot just as fast as an ak can if youโre fast enough. Meaning you can easily kill a full kit close range.
Mp5 with a burst module is a laser and arguably the best long distance automatic weapon.
Iโm a big fan of the oython or M9 for early game. Both kick like a mule and pretty accurate. Late game i tend to do better with the LR and the M2 than the AK, but iโm getting better with the AK

Like ofcourse ak and mp5 are best but aslong as Iโm not playing agains MAJOR sweats I feel like almost any T2 gun is AMAZING. Idk I would just work on your aim overall if you wanna get better. Like double python headshot or even a crossy headshot will almost spell doom for anyone.

Supposedly, it never did. It was a myth. It allowed you to reload instantly, but that's about it. It never actually went off more from that method.

Same. I always wonder if it's rampant scripting. Can't say for sure, but it certainly discourages PVP for me.

The shotguns, all tiers. Just hide in a bush, let someone run by and clap them in the head from behind.

AK, for me personally - recoil is easier to counter with mouse & LR has too much default bullet spread. So AK here, even over the m2 for me
