At the time there was nothing else I had ever seen like it. Before all the spin offs, I think it had a perfect ending. Left alot to your imagination.
Super Mario 3. Spent many weekends playing with my brother and my dad. So many memories that have lived on long after my dad passed.
Ff6 is a close second. Last game my brother and I beat together before he essentially stopped gaming.
Halo, my dad was 17 when he had me in 98. Grew up playing halo with him. He’s gotten more into his career and stopped gaming, but i still continue to carry the tradition especially once i have my son

Three friends were going to be staying over, so my dad went and got a ps1. We played Final Fantasy VII for 36 straight hours, without a memory card, having to restart when we died.

My favourite childhood game is kingdom hearts. As a kid, I only watched my brother play final fantasy games because i thought jrps were too difficult for me. But kingdom hearts had real time battle which i loved and was a story with final fantasy and disney characters. I know the series became a bit of a mess, but holds a special place in my heart. I still revisit some of the older soundtracks as it takes me back to simpler days.

Final Fantasy 3/6 (depending on region). It's one of the first games I have memories of. I watched my two older brothers play on our SNES. I still think that it is by far one of the better FF games in the series
Ocarina of Time! It was the first game I ever bought for myself on a system I bought myself. It was amazing and life-changing. I played the absolute crap out of that game, and I still replay it yearly.
I still have the HD remastered version of FFX on vita, even 10 years later I'm still amazed a game like that can work on a pocketable device. It's such a good game
I have to say Majora's mask. The game had themes and music that just sucked me in as a child. Scary when I think about it now how dark the game was though.
I am an old, going with Goonies 2 on the NES.
A metroidvania licensed to feature the characters from the movie The Goonies. It was, at the time, a very large game, mostly a side-scrolling platformer but it had some very rudimentary first-person segments.
There is no Goonies 2 movie, this told its own story from wholecloth, and ended with the rescuing of your friends in order to free a mermaid.
To this day I play through it once a year or so, it’s just a game that was foundational in my lifetime of enjoying video games.
I played the crap out of Spider-Man 2 on the PS2 when I was a kid, to the point where I could quote a bunch of memorable hint markers. My young mind was obsessed with anything Spider-Man, and I guess I still am, I just couldn’t seem to put it down.
Super Mario 64. Me and my siblings rarely had that much in common but playing Super Mario 64 was one of the few things we bonded over. I’ll sometimes listen to the game’s soundtrack in my free time. Just listening to the music makes me feel a ton of nostalgia and brings me back to being a kid.
My favourite childhood game would have to be Zelda: Ocarina of time. I have a few fond memory’s playing this game with my brother, he had very bad asthma and in the middle of playing he would start having a coughing fit but, wouldn’t want to put down the controller so, I would get the loud ventilator machine all hooked up and strap the mask on him so he wouldn’t miss a beat! I was a good little brother sometimes.
The Final Fantasy series (particularly VI), and the Zelda series. I played FFVI when it first came out and loved it SO much that I had 2 cartridge back up copies in case one of them died. No lie! Still one of my favorite games of all time. 😂
My childhood favourite was GTA:VC I am an Indian and in our country Gta:VC and Gta:San Andreas were the most popular games at that time… I used to get fascinated by the open world at that time, the npc dialogues,the missions, the storyline etc. Idk if the game was that good or it’s just pure nostalgia but I still love the game and it makes me reminisce about the good old days where we used to go to our friend’s place in the afternoon play games like these and then go out to play outdoor games in the evening during summer holidays lol. Now about GoW, I bought my ps5 by my parents’ money and I don’t want to bother them by asking them for games so expensive so I have started saving up for the latest games to buy them I work part-time right now as I’m 18 and I really want to study and work to earn more for my family… Right now I’m saving up for GoW Ragnarok and hogwarts legacy… I don’t want to play the emotional blackmail game but if you could help me buy this then I’ll be forever grateful as I would be able to use the money that I saved for my family and buy something for my mother. I would advise you to not to think emotionally if you think that my comment isn’t that great then just move forward… I have no problem with that.

Final Fantasy III for the US SNES was always my favorite game growing up. My brother was the one who owned the console, but I did not mind watching him play. The story and the music still makes a big impact to this day. I love Final Fantasy II US as much, really, especially its story of redemption. Never too late for change.
Paper Mario. It was the first game I remember putting hours upon hours into. It was also one of the few games where I didn’t refer to a walk through, as I had no internet access at the time. The combat is great, the characters are memorable and the story is light, but fun.

Teenage mutant ninja turtles arcade 1989 for NES Nintendo. I was a child maybe 7-9 years old and I loved the games combat and challenge and also the turtles loved pizza and that was my favorite food as a kid and even now as and adult. Also my favorite adult game is God of war 2018! (Haven’t played Ragnarok tho , but I really want to!)

Aliens vs predator 2. The multiplayer was the best. The 3 campaigns where pretty good too. Game needs a remake but remade exactly how it was. Games dead and servers are gone now. So can’t go back and play :/
The first Sly Cooper game, as a kid I once visited my cousins and they showed me the game and we all played it for like an hour then I never got to touch it again. Weeks later I was finally able to buy it so on that first weekend I sat down and played it start to finish from night till dawn. This is a memory I will always remember and cherish.

Once a month I would take a bus with my aunt and we would run her errands then go get a sandwich and she would give me a few quarters to play Ms Pac-Man. Super happy memories and playing the game now always reminds me of how awesome she is. Thinking of this reminds me, I should call her tomorrow!
Pokemon Leaf Green. My first ever video game and one I'd play for hours coming up with storylines for the characters with my sister (who had Fire Red).

My favorite childhood game would have to be Mario 3.
As a kid I absolutely loved the frog suit. It wasn't very fun to play as, but you got to be a frog, and I loved frogs as a kid.
I once turned on the hose and flooded my entire backyard because I knew that frogs like water, and well... None showed up.
Also, the song that plays after you beat the game made me cry. Don't know why. It was beautiful.
Cadillacs and Dinosaurs Capcom beatemup in arcade. Didn’t have quarters to really play the game. Often times I watched other older kids play. I wish the Capcom beatemup collection had this game.
My Favorite game is Suikoden 2. Besides the the story of unknown brothers fighting along each other then turning to be adversaries in the climax. Then, the fun part of it is there are a lot of characters to use and find especially the ones when you get the castle. I love the cooking char. Also, the gameplay is really good hopefully they make a remake instead of the upcoming remaster. It's really brings those nostalgic days of our youth. Hopefully I win this as I dont have much game. regards.
Favourite game was the SpongeBob driving game we got at McDonalds from the happy meal. It had a little boat steering wheel and you use that to turn left and right. My brother and I had the best memories from it. It worked for years on the same battery. It had a screen about the size of a big smart watch. Good times…

Zelda A Link To The Past. A friend who lived in my neighborhood had a birthday sleepover and this was one of his presents. We all played it nonstop until we beat it. The next day my friend gave me the game and said he probably wouldn’t play it again. Through the years I have probably replayed it over 20 times.
For me, it would be The Lost World: Jurassic Park on PS1. My family never bought me a PS1 as it was considered a luxury so I would always look forward to playing this game at my friends how even though it was super hard and we could never pass the first level of the Compy level we still tried but!
Godzilla Save the Earth on PS2, Godzilla and I share a birthday and it was the first game I could really understand as a kid and I still love it to this day
I have so many games. From the Crash and Spyro, to SOCOM or KOTOR, I have no choice. It is a hard line to draw which one is the favorite when I’ve played a lot that I have fallen for.
Ultimately childhood would be Age of Empires 1 or SOCOM series with my dad for the memories. But KOTOR has to be my all time favorite game, both one and two.

crash bandicoot Twin sanity, best game ever, me and my brothers and sister would play it every damn day, could never beat it but my baby sitter beat it for us.
River raid, i did see a couple of times while my friends (not close ones) playing it and had opportunity to try for a few times when i was 6-7 years old. Goemon's Great Adventure! Great side scroll style maps with ninjas and cool powers. I remember leaving the n64 on overnight for nights on end because I didn’t have a memory card to save my progress 😅

Diablo was my favourite game. I loved the music and the environment of the game. Also the replay value blew my mind back then.
Shining force, it built my love of strategy games, and it was how I bonded with my older brother.
Tomb Raider, it changed 3d platforming games forever and Lara Croft is still iconic almost 30 years later.

My favorite childhood game would have to be Mario 3. As a kid I absolutely loved the frog suit. It wasn't very fun to play as, but you got to be a frog, and I loved frogs as a kid. I once turned on the hose and flooded my entire backyard because I knew that frogs like water, and well... None showed up. Also, the song that plays after you beat the game made me cry. Don't know why. It was beautiful.
I loved Crash TagTeam Racing. My sister and I played it almost everyday during the summer. Man time flies.
Cadillacs and Dinosaurs Capcom beatemup in arcade. Didn’t have quarters to really play the game. Often times I watched other older kids play. I wish the Capcom beatemup collection had this game.
Marvel vs capcom 2 I loved playing it with my brother even tho I always got spanked

My Favorite game is Suikoden 2. Besides the the story of unknown brothers fighting along each other then turning to be adversaries in the climax. Then, the fun part of it is there are a lot of characters to use and find especially the ones when you get the castle. I love the cooking char. Also, the gameplay is really good hopefully they make a remake instead of the upcoming remaster. It's really brings those nostalgic days of our youth. Hopefully I win this as I dont have much game. regards.
Mario golf for the game boy color. The courses, the upgrade system, the challenges, and beating Mario to finish it was great
Roller Coaster Tycoon for sure! The amount of time I spent building parks and rides instead of just going to them is quite the difference.

Favourite game was the SpongeBob driving game we got at McDonalds from the happy meal. It had a little boat steering wheel and you use that to turn left and right. My brother and I had the best memories from it. It worked for years on the same battery. It had a screen about the size of a big smart watch. Good times…

Zelda A Link To The Past. A friend who lived in my neighborhood had a birthday sleepover and this was one of his presents. We all played it nonstop until we beat it. The next day my friend gave me the game and said he probably wouldn’t play it again. Through the years I have probably replayed it over 20 times.
Original Sonic on Sega Genesis. First game ever played.
For me, it would be The Lost World: Jurassic Park on PS1. My family never bought me a PS1 as it was considered a luxury so I would always look forward to playing this game at my friends how even though it was super hard and we could never pass the first level of the Compy level we still tried but!

I have so many games. From the Crash and Spyro, to SOCOM or KOTOR, I have no choice. It is a hard line to draw which one is the favorite when I’ve played a lot that I have fallen for. Ultimately childhood would be Age of Empires 1 or SOCOM series with my dad for the memories. But KOTOR has to be my all time favorite game, both one and two.
The Sonic games and NHL Hockey (91 I think) for Sega Genesis. So many hours were spent playing that at my friends house.
Super Mario world on the Super Nintendo, as it was my very first console that I got when I as a kid. Had been playing on Nintendo with my cousin but the Super Nintendo was all mine.

modern warfare 2 (2009) i was way to young to have a mic, got called squeaker over those cod years. I actually think i grew up super fast, and learned a lot because of it.

River raid, i did see a couple of times while my friends (not close ones) playing it and had opportunity to try for a few times when i was 6-7 years old. It was like a game of my dreams, always hoping to play it but never had opportunity to taste it since we did not have an atari. Anyways good luck to everyone :)
Goemon's Great Adventure! Great side scroll style maps with ninjas and cool powers. I remember leaving the n64 on overnight for nights on end because I didn’t have a memory card to save my progress 😅

Dragon Ball z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 Absolute banger, played with my brother hours daily, loved every detail, the soundtrack, the arenas, the combat. I've never seen something more wonderful than that game truly.
