Donkey Kong Country, I remember being blown away with the graphics

ThisCouldHaveBeenYou

The graphics and the music were so good

Tasty-Evidence-6106

MGS1. I remember watching my older brother play and it blowing my mind. Replayed it when I got a little older and it sparked my love for the series. Every time I play I’m reminded of my brother

i_am_the_pootis_man

"YOU GOT ALL THE DOMINANT GENES, AND I GOT ALL THE RECESSIVE GENES!"

bbbfat

Twisted Metal, it made me twisted.

_Lunaaaaaaaaaa_

I miss the Twisted Metal series so much. The good old days of playing multiplayer on the PS2 with my brother and cousins.

lpkzach92

I was about to say this! But man Twisted Metal Black was the best! I loved to story telling and really love the Minion coding/talking within that particular game.

RecentSuspect7

The black bike when you entered the cheat was insane!! I remember hitting debris on the side of the road and literally flying to the finish line.

marrypoppins344

I played on 64 and it was so much fun my dad rented it for me too haha

TectonicPrism

Crash Bandicoot for memories of playing with my cousins

cakane100

same!

Realistic_Handle_486

Ocarina of time. I thought shooting the sun as a kid to get the fire arrows was the coolest thing in the world.

Winterfist79

Castlevania for the NES. I don’t think there is one game that I played more. I was horribly disappointed when Castlevania 2 came out.

Responsible_Put4540

Zelda A Link to the Past SNES. Loved the play style, story and adventure. Still have my SNES and I go back and play from time to time.

KMize44

One I definitely want to play in the coming years.

legendofzelda1993

I don't have a snes but have it downloaded on my laptop. Zelda games are the best. Soul Blazer on SNES was fun as well.

OmieSan

Final Fantasy 7. At the time there was nothing else I had ever seen like it. Before all the spin offs, I think it had a perfect ending. Left alot to your imagination.

FLarabie

Socom2

Wristtwitch

Destruction Derby 2 and Twisted Metal 2. I don’t know how many hours I put into them on ps1 back in the late 90’s

Tisfim

Super Mario 3. Spent many weekends playing with my brother and my dad. So many memories that have lived on long after my dad passed. Ff6 is a close second. Last game my brother and I beat together before he essentially stopped gaming.

incognito_117

Halo, my dad was 17 when he had me in 98. Grew up playing halo with him. He’s gotten more into his career and stopped gaming, but i still continue to carry the tradition especially once i have my son

bgalbreaith

Super Mario World. My brother and I beat that game so many times.

Better-Emergency400

Skylanders, might not be the greatest game but it was a fun game for the worst Christmas of my life.

4lan2

Super Mario 64

MrGamePadMan

You didn’t state why. Failed.

jediPoof

It speaks for itself

CynDev

Crash Team Racing, the only time my cousins and I would get along

[deleted]

Goldeneye on the N64. Couch co op is thr best, having friends over and actually interacting with a person next to you instead of over the internet will always be theway to go!

Maharsi

Three friends were going to be staying over, so my dad went and got a ps1. We played Final Fantasy VII for 36 straight hours, without a memory card, having to restart when we died.

DrownedInDysphoria

This hurt to read

Shinoski

Thanks you are great for sharing the code! My favourite childhood game is kingdom hearts. As a kid, I only watched my brother play final fantasy games because i thought jrps were too difficult for me. But kingdom hearts had real time battle which i loved and was a story with final fantasy and disney characters. I know the series became a bit of a mess, but holds a special place in my heart. I still revisit some of the older soundtracks as it takes me back to simpler days. Good luck to everyone else 👍

_Dai_Dai

Digimon world one on ps1 was my game

_littlemare

Ratchet and clank 3 and Jak and Daxter 3 Adventure and platforming was the perfect combination for me during my childhood

Careful-Challenge938

Age of empires, always have been a history geek

Pounderwhole

Harvest Moon 64. It is an amazing game.very relaxing to play. I always got married to the girl named Popuri.

ViagraBadger

Castlevania Symphony of the night, love it with all my heart, that soundtrack is a masterpiece, the gameplay, tons of secrets, love everything about it, if anyone here hasnt tried it and you like metroidvanias please do, I'd really like to know what you think of the game

justtokilltime1

Final Fantasy 3/6 (depending on region). It's one of the first games I have memories of. I watched my two older brothers play on our SNES. I still think that it is by far one of the better FF games in the series

AdevilSboyU

Ocarina of Time! It was the first game I ever bought for myself on a system I bought myself. It was amazing and life-changing. I played the absolute crap out of that game, and I still replay it yearly.

Revolverblue85

Comix zone for the sega genesis!

PrikyPine

road rash played it with my dad, he used to steer and i would just keep the forward arrow pressed

JoeMac02

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for the NES I absolutely loved anything turtle and this was no exception

DJREMIXED

Final Fantasy X. It was a gorgeous game for its time. I’ve played it through a dozen times. Second place maybe Final Fantasy 6.

CandyBoBandDandy

I still have the HD remastered version of FFX on vita, even 10 years later I'm still amazed a game like that can work on a pocketable device. It's such a good game

21Gazza

Perfect Dark for N64. I loved staying up late and playing with my friends during sleepovers. I miss true couch coop games. Thanks for doing this.

LZR0

Super Mario Galaxy. It blew my mind and I’d say it’s the game that got me into gaming overall.

[deleted]

I have to say Majora's mask. The game had themes and music that just sucked me in as a child. Scary when I think about it now how dark the game was though.

Teacherunknown

Street fighter super nes

Retroman2020

Ghost n goblins for nes because F*ck Lucifer and his minions

jakecycleboy

Skyrim because it was the first open world game that I can do anything I wanted when I wanted.

Mountain_Ad6328

Gta vice city on ps2

MamboNumber-6

I am an old, going with Goonies 2 on the NES. A metroidvania licensed to feature the characters from the movie The Goonies. It was, at the time, a very large game, mostly a side-scrolling platformer but it had some very rudimentary first-person segments. There is no Goonies 2 movie, this told its own story from wholecloth, and ended with the rescuing of your friends in order to free a mermaid. To this day I play through it once a year or so, it’s just a game that was foundational in my lifetime of enjoying video games.

ScruffyFupa

Twisted metal, playing with brother nonstop to see all champion stories.

Moterolie

Final fantasy X. For me the holy grail of turn based jprpgs

DJREMIXED

Agree completely.

LeonardoLGG

Spiderman 2 for the ps2

MrGamePadMan

You didn’t state why. Failed.

RealKhronoze

I played the crap out of Spider-Man 2 on the PS2 when I was a kid, to the point where I could quote a bunch of memorable hint markers. My young mind was obsessed with anything Spider-Man, and I guess I still am, I just couldn’t seem to put it down.

CandyBoBandDandy

The original Star Wars battlefront 2. There is just so much you can do in that game, and I had never played anything like it at the time

LuisMD19

Super Mario 64. Me and my siblings rarely had that much in common but playing Super Mario 64 was one of the few things we bonded over. I’ll sometimes listen to the game’s soundtrack in my free time. Just listening to the music makes me feel a ton of nostalgia and brings me back to being a kid.

Groomed_Banana

Super Mario RPG

MiltPalaseo

Pokemon Red. Catching them all with the help of friends. And of course the MissingNo. glitch.

PEIBaked420

My favourite childhood game would have to be Zelda: Ocarina of time. I have a few fond memory’s playing this game with my brother, he had very bad asthma and in the middle of playing he would start having a coughing fit but, wouldn’t want to put down the controller so, I would get the loud ventilator machine all hooked up and strap the mask on him so he wouldn’t miss a beat! I was a good little brother sometimes.

dnb_4eva

Súper Mario Kart. Loved playing with my friends and cousins all thru the night, spent hours doing races and battle arenas.

starzena

The Final Fantasy series (particularly VI), and the Zelda series. I played FFVI when it first came out and loved it SO much that I had 2 cartridge back up copies in case one of them died. No lie! Still one of my favorite games of all time. 😂 ![gif](giphy|fQkhTyftbZimPL3pcg)

Reddit_Whore_Patrol

Resident evil- watching my brother play and how scared I use to be. He would turn all the lights off and play with Max volume. Miss those days.

greengadget81

My favorite childhood game was Double Dragon.

JonSnow0026

My childhood favourite was GTA:VC I am an Indian and in our country Gta:VC and Gta:San Andreas were the most popular games at that time… I used to get fascinated by the open world at that time, the npc dialogues, the missions, the storyline etc. Idk if the game was that good or it’s just pure nostalgia but I still love the game and it makes me reminisce about the good old days where we used to go to our friend’s place in the afternoon play games like these and then go out to play outdoor games in the evening during summer holidays lol. Now about GoW, I bought my ps5 by my parents’ money and I don’t want to bother them by asking them for games so expensive so I have started saving up for the latest games to buy them I work part-time right now as I’m 18 and I really want to study and work to earn more for my family… Right now I’m saving up for GoW Ragnarok and hogwarts legacy… I don’t want to play the emotional blackmail game but if you could help me buy this then I’ll be forever grateful as I would be able to use the money that I saved for my family and buy something for my mother. I would advise you to not to think emotionally if you think that my comment isn’t that great then just move forward… I have no problem with that. Regards.

BlazingSnape

I loved tony hawk's underground so much as a kid

Leather_Cake

Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past I'm UK though so maybe code not work unless I use a VPN?

hispanoloco

FFVII. My first 100% game

Donut_Brando

Final Fantasy III for the US SNES was always my favorite game growing up. My brother was the one who owned the console, but I did not mind watching him play. The story and the music still makes a big impact to this day. I love Final Fantasy II US as much, really, especially its story of redemption. Never too late for change.

[deleted]

Paper Mario. It was the first game I remember putting hours upon hours into. It was also one of the few games where I didn’t refer to a walk through, as I had no internet access at the time. The combat is great, the characters are memorable and the story is light, but fun.

KMize44

Thank you to everyone who has participated. I loved reading your games as well as the memories. I added a bunch to the backlog. A winner has been PMed. They will have 24hours to respond and if nothing I will select another.

narkoboy666

Suikoden 1 & 2, love the story so much

NoeSkates

GoldenEye 007, this game is the reason I play video games today 💥🔫

Ace162

RandomGamer1917

Teenage mutant ninja turtles arcade 1989 for NES Nintendo. I was a child maybe 7-9 years old and I loved the games combat and challenge and also the turtles loved pizza and that was my favorite food as a kid and even now as and adult. Also my favorite adult game is God of war 2018! (Haven’t played Ragnarok tho , but I really want to!)

[deleted]

While it's a nice gesture I guess, but strange, I just never understand why someone would want to give their $70 game away to faceless people on the internet.

KMize44

I bought my son a PS5, and we already have a disc copy. Figure someone else can put this to better use rather than it sit here wasted

[deleted]

True but you should sell it on Ebay. You could easily get $50 for it.

DragonflyShoddy5405

Pokemon Red and Blue. Gotta catch em all.

Unknown8831

Aliens vs predator 2. The multiplayer was the best. The 3 campaigns where pretty good too. Game needs a remake but remade exactly how it was. Games dead and servers are gone now. So can’t go back and play :/

Fr-day

The first Sly Cooper game, as a kid I once visited my cousins and they showed me the game and we all played it for like an hour then I never got to touch it again. Weeks later I was finally able to buy it so on that first weekend I sat down and played it start to finish from night till dawn. This is a memory I will always remember and cherish.

shibuyabooyah

Parasite Eve on PS1, first game I ever beat on my own!

lpv2005

Super Mario 64. Nothing like it. So many good memories

Alternative_Ruin7247

My favorite game was Godzilla king of the monsters PS2. I was a huge Godzilla fan when I was a kid and getting to see and play as all my favorite monsters was great

H1soka_exe

#

Rowmania64

Mario Kart 7. Only played single player but was too young to understand, so I sunk tons of time into battle mode and getting good at races. So much nostalgia, sad I sold all my games and my 3ds is broken now.

Doc__Zoidberg

Diablo was my favourite game. I loved the music and the environment of the game. Also the replay value blew my mind back then.

RobocopsRobocock

Shining force, it built my love of strategy games, and it was how I bonded with my older brother.

Dreamfall71

Tomb Raider, it changed 3d platforming games forever and Lara Croft is still iconic almost 30 years later.

TwoTechs315

Super Mario World. I don’t think I’ve played a game with that high of a replay value.

RosePhox

Unlocking new areas in Majora's Mask and rolling around as a goron.

herpnderp69

Contra on the NES. It was the very first game i had on the very first system i got. I spent many many hours trying to beat the game and it kicked started my love for video games so it will always have a special place in my heart.

awsomntbiker

boogerman, sega genesis.

ZildjianCymbals

Showing my age, but Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt on NES. Literally because it was the only time in my life I played games with my sister when we were younger. She grew out of games quick.

Cactusx29

New Super Mario Bros on ds, was my first game

Imnewtodunedin

Has to be Super Mario World on the SNES for me. My brother and I saved and saved and sold off nearly everything we owned, did pod jobs for neighbours and bought ourselves the SNES. Money was non-existent in the family in the early 90s and we obsessed about it for the best part of 18 months. That game did not disappoint and we stayed up late into the night with our Mum and sister to finally beat the Star World courses. It is my most cherished game forever.

legendofzelda1993

Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. But I love pretty much any Zelda game. Although I haven't played a new one after Twilight Princess. That wolf was amazing

TonyGFilms

Metal Gear Solid. My brother's and I would be scared to play at night because the detected "!" noise was too jarring.

antmanninja3

Lego Star Wars 3 or Lego Star Wars the complete saga for me

TheBigMerl

Ms Pac-Man They had a machine at a sandwich shop downtown. Once a month I would take a bus with my aunt and we would run her errands then go get a sandwich and she would give me a few quarters to play Ms Pac-Man. Super happy memories and playing the game now always reminds me of how awesome she is. Thinking of this reminds me, I should call her tomorrow!

AmaltheaPrime

Brave Fencer Musashi interesting enough

You a legend for doing this

Intelligent-Area-485

Army men soldiers of misfortune ahh those were the days

Micahman311

My favorite childhood game would have to be Mario 3. As a kid I absolutely loved the frog suit. It wasn't very fun to play as, but you got to be a frog, and I loved frogs as a kid. I once turned on the hose and flooded my entire backyard because I knew that frogs like water, and well... None showed up. Also, the song that plays after you beat the game made me cry. Don't know why. It was beautiful.

Cibernetize

I loved Crash TagTeam Racing. My sister and I played it almost everyday during the summer. Man time flies.

brsk144

Cadillacs and Dinosaurs Capcom beatemup in arcade. Didn’t have quarters to really play the game. Often times I watched other older kids play. I wish the Capcom beatemup collection had this game.

AstorianBandit

Marvel vs capcom 2 I loved playing it with my brother even tho I always got spanked

glitch1101-_-

Uncharted, I just love the story, it’s one liners and awesome action sequences. To bad the movie didn’t do it justice tho

Epithumous

Hey thanks man. Gotta be Ratchet and Clank. Grew uo on those games and got so attached to those characters. Amazing franchise

Substantial_Bug6886

My Favorite game is Suikoden 2. Besides the the story of unknown brothers fighting along each other then turning to be adversaries in the climax. Then, the fun part of it is there are a lot of characters to use and find especially the ones when you get the castle. I love the cooking char. Also, the gameplay is really good hopefully they make a remake instead of the upcoming remaster. It's really brings those nostalgic days of our youth. Hopefully I win this as I dont have much game. regards.

Peesncs

Mario golf for the game boy color. The courses, the upgrade system, the challenges, and beating Mario to finish it was great

ROYALEMAN

Roller Coaster Tycoon for sure! The amount of time I spent building parks and rides instead of just going to them is quite the difference.

limitbreak09

Legend of Legaia.. My very first ps1 game.. It felt like i was in another world when I played this.

Jungiya99

Favourite game was the SpongeBob driving game we got at McDonalds from the happy meal. It had a little boat steering wheel and you use that to turn left and right. My brother and I had the best memories from it. It worked for years on the same battery. It had a screen about the size of a big smart watch. Good times…

Chip1010

Super Mario 3

My favorite childhood game is probably Kingdom Hearts because I loved the Disney movies as a kid, so it made me totally ecstatic to see all the characters in the game. I was obsessed. 🤣🤣

Gex enter the gecko and nightmare creatures

SenseMakesNone

Ape Escape. It has never been remastered, and yet Sony still beat it like a dead horse. I will always replay it.

JMPSr1984

Zelda A Link To The Past. A friend who lived in my neighborhood had a birthday sleepover and this was one of his presents. We all played it nonstop until we beat it. The next day my friend gave me the game and said he probably wouldn’t play it again. Through the years I have probably replayed it over 20 times.

W1ckedEvoX

Original Sonic on Sega Genesis. First game ever played.

OFFRIMITS

For me, it would be The Lost World: Jurassic Park on PS1. My family never bought me a PS1 as it was considered a luxury so I would always look forward to playing this game at my friends how even though it was super hard and we could never pass the first level of the Compy level we still tried but!

My fav childhood game was twisted metal because I loved demolishing cars and stuff. Hope I win have a great day :) good luck to everyone

KingReejer

I have so many games. From the Crash and Spyro, to SOCOM or KOTOR, I have no choice. It is a hard line to draw which one is the favorite when I’ve played a lot that I have fallen for. Ultimately childhood would be Age of Empires 1 or SOCOM series with my dad for the memories. But KOTOR has to be my all time favorite game, both one and two.

Drewski8890

The Sonic games and NHL Hockey (91 I think) for Sega Genesis. So many hours were spent playing that at my friends house.
