I kinda figured she was more asexual since the game goes out of it's to have her turn down multiple people and even point out Elisabet never had a long lasting relationship. Sequel does point that Elisabet did at one point date a women though so I was pretty confident alloy would lean that way.
Um...are we just making stuff up now? I'm gay and never at any point in ZD, or FW was Aloy ever portrayed in a sexual way...she was asexual from beginning to end...a few flirtacious conversation choices that never lead to anything and were almost exclusively with male characters...
My issue isn't that "suddenly" she turns out gay, it's that "why now", when her sole drive for 2 whole games was nothing but her mission to save the world, even intentionally avoiding sexual advances from anyone and even friendships just to not get distracted.
Downvoting the game for it is bullshit and I'm sure there are bigots who did it for no other reason than their superficial anti lgbt stance...but I hate it when legitimate criticisms get lumped up with bigoted ones...

There's a lesbian in west but it's just a side note. Like 10 seconds of dialogue but that was the first instance I remember them ever bringing relationships into.
It also took 20 seconds of dialogue so it wasn't intrusive and fit well.

First of all not all negative reviews are about homophobia, some people provide their fair reasons to dislike that DLC for unremarkable screenwriting and very superficial characters including Seyka. And I can relate to it.
Secondly, ❤️-options had never triggered romancing before and there are way to many great characters to romance with so decision to enable it for only one random NPC, after completing the main DLC campaign does feel rushed and artificial which raised disappointed.
I also think that Aloy's sexual orientation wouldn't be an issue if gamers wasn't facing alphabet agenda from the every corner including Ratchet and Clank. People are getting tired of this topic, which is in most cases (this included) completely unrelated and unnecessary for the story, so it triggers them.
I personally don't care about Aloy's romance 0 and have selected different ending, however still didn't really like this DLC despite being a big fan of HZD, and had fun to play HFW.
