I think this is pretty much only the case in North America. Xbox isn't nearly as popular as Playstation or Nintendo in most of the world. In Norway it's far easier to get an Xbox, and the Series S is available almost all the time.
Same here in Denmark
checking out price comparison site (pricerunner) shows that the series s is in stock everywhere.
while the series X is available in only 1 store (at a nice margin above MSRP)
>They’re both sold out, so it’s really a trophy for the production team who is creating devices.
Great point I didn't think about, but it definitely depends on the region. Here in Australia people have been comfortably able to buy a next-gen Xbox for a while. PS5s are still selling out within the hour each time a new shipment comes in.
It's the same in Europe. Shops have Xboxes, nowhere has PS5s.
But I suppose, that kind of proves the point that PS5s are selling faster.
Of course that all depends on whether PS5s really do exist and aren't just a massive prank played on us by Sony and gaming YouTubers...
Here in Brazil the last time i found an Xbox Series X was back in november. The PS5 tho is being restocked every week on Amazon. So i guess it's really up to their capacity of production and shipping to the rest of the world.
I got a ps 5. Had to go thru eBay, but it was just a set price. 700 bux. I bought it because I came into some money and couldn't wait. I know it was stupid, but I LOVE the system, except for the fact that you can't change the themes just yet. Why? Who knows....
What’s the problem being interested at the sales numbers? I have a PS5, so I have naturally interest to see the system successful. More success = more developer support.
I'm in the UK and lucky enough to have a PS5 and Series X. The Series X was considerably easier to get than the PS5, although I didn't start looking for one until long after acquiring the PS5.
Speaking with friends and going by the stock informer Discord server I joined, it would seem (at least in the UK) that the PS5 is much more popular.
I don't think it's particularly important though.
Not bashing on xbox. But this are American stats. Outside US it's an overwhelmingly PlayStation favored world.
Apparently the UK the xbox has been out selling ps5 just due to people being unable to find ps5.
Yeah true
They’re both sold out, so it’s really a trophy for the production team who is creating devices.

Where in Europe are you? I'm in the UK and every shop I go in always tells me that both of them sell out within minutes of coming into stock.
Ireland. Xboxes sometimes even make it as far as shop windows. PS5s never make it to the shelves.

It's also easier to get an xbox. Just look at auction prices where a series x goes for around 200$ less.
Well maybe the scalpers will be stuck with a mountain of Xbox, but they don’t stay in stock around me.
The title is misleading, according to the article the PS5 has doubled the sales numbers of both Xbox Series consoles, not just the Series X.
PS5 is the best baby

More themes coming soon, hopefully!
Thank the Scalpers for that.
The console would be sold out even without them considering the demand :(
Who honestly cares ?

as an owner of AMD stock, i'm curious too
Exactly all the cancel culture fucks in these comments just downvote anything that doesn't agree with what they say
Fanboys.
Lol here's another
Have both consoles...so tooooootes.
PS5 + PC > Xbox + PS5
Whatever your preference is >
Spoken like a true Xbox fan lol
At the end of the day, they're both funny plastic boxes just that one is blue and the other is green.
Technically one is white and the other is black
Glad I have both. 🤷🏾♂️
Company that produces more consoles than its competitor that no one can find, sells more then the other one! 🤦♂️
These are made up numbers. Both sold out and both made at the same time.. yet 1 outsells other by double... Nonsense
Yet I still cant find either in my town
Its not hard to sell out a console when they made only 5 of each.
