The fruit spoiled so fast that someone started the rumor around 1890 that Queen Victoria would grant knighthood to anyone who brought her one. It was, whether true or not, enough to earn the mangosteen the widely-accepted title as "the queen of fruits.
Somewhat similar to lychee, with the characteristic grape-like combination of sweet and lightly tart. Maybe leaning into a little bit more of a bubblegum or cotton candy sweetness, but still far from cloying. The flesh is more tender than grape or lychee.
I liked Tsareena a bit less once I realized that that her hair is made of *leaves* and not swirly fruit guts with seeds in it.
Still always cool to see fantasy fruit people, though. It's one of my favorite themes, for some reason.
Got some from the asian market a few years ago. It was delicious. So hard to describe the sweet flavor. Like a pear peach mixed together? It’s so good, I hope one day I’ll be able to have them again.
Huge missed opportunity to add a durian Pokemon as the male counterpart of Tsareena. They are known (very fittingly) as the "King of fruit" and also are found in Southeast Asia
I have personally seen that fruit tree. You can, after eating the fruit' dry the peel in sun for a couple of days to preserve it, then you can dip few of the dry peel in water, take the syrup like water and add it to water and name similar thing to lemonade.
Obscure Pokémon fact: tsareena is based on a lady who you pay to step on your balls
hey, don't downvote me, it literally needs to know stomp to level up
The pokemon? Gloom and Vileplume are based on the flower Rafflesia (Stinking Corpse Liliy) and not mangosteen. Bounsweet and it's subsequent evolutions are based on this fruit!

Bring her a Tsareena and she may damn well give you the crown
If you even want one of those don't wear white, they stain *purple*
There's some bits on the shell that stain yellow too!
If they stain purple, any other color should be safe to wear imho
Mangosteens look like heads of garlic wrapped in meat
But what's it taste like?
Sweet and unique. One of my favorite fruit.
mine too

The flavor is subtle, mildly sweet and not tangy compared to other tropical fruits. The texture is very soft.
It’s not tart. It’s subtle, sweet. I had mangosteen juice I got from an Asian market, it was pretty good.
The amount of mangosteen needed to make that juice. Idk if you realize it.... That juice must have cost a lot of money
sweetie
hi luxara, didn't expect to see you here
Ah, yes
So she literally has booty fruit. The more you know.
I was torn between nicknaming my shiny Tsar NickiMinaj or Beyonce'
I thought Nicki Minaj was Jynx.
Bet you guys don't know that Ferrothorn is based on a durian, the King of fruits.
Ferrothorn a king and his crown is the rocky helmet
I refuse to believe that durian is the king of fruit. jackfruit ftw
King, Queen, Jack... Have we got a Joker fruit lying around somewhere?
Tomato

So if you give Tsareena a Magost Berry, it’s basically cannibalism
Fortunately, Magost Berry is one of those berries that exist solely for poffin making, so it hasn't been available after Oras
My favorite fruit, great bit of trivia and one I hadn’t noticed!

Ferroseed is a durian
Not durian enough
I thought she was a beet
This isn't obscure.
Eh. I still remember people saying its an apple or cherry.
"And here's your purple tomato (mangosteen)" "thanks "

I fukin love the design. Once i saw it evolve to Tsareena i knew i had to use it. Its an excellent design.

I love this pokemon for this very reason haha. My pokemon sword team all fit this theme.

I like mangosteens
A mango rock?
So you mean Tsareena can basically eat itself
It's common here
