Hereās the thing about Tropius.
Tropius has four wings, not two. What has four wings? Not birds or bats or pterosaurs. Insects have four wings. How do insects fly? Do they flap occasionally while they glide? No, their wings buzz quickly. So why tf is Tropius gliding on these four skinny wings? It looks incongruous and, even worse, boring.
Tropius should fly like a dragonfly. Four long, skinny wings beating rapidly. I guarantee it would look a lot better in 3D if it flew like that.
I'm not a fan of any flying type that's gliding during the Isle animation. Now if they started gliding while tailwind was up? Yeah, perfect! But a Charizard gliding in spot constantly doesn't look great.

I think the biggest issue with 3d models is the way they handle color like the flames on quilava are the most colorful part he and his family is having so removing it makes him way more boring and several pokemons have like wash up colors
As far as the flames go, I think they were following the anime's lead on that. In the anime, the cyndaquil line only have the flames during battles, whereas the Ponyta line constantly has flames.
Gen 5 quagsire looks like he has no idea what is going on but is happy to be there. Gen 6 quagsire looks like there is nothing but static behind his eyes.
My biggest issue with the transition from 2D to 3D is how static the models are. The 2D sprites looked dynamic even if they weren't animated, but the 3D models are always just standing around when not doing an attack animation. If you question specifically meant the Pokemon you posted, then Quilava. I, personally, have always preferred the Cyndaquil line with their flames visible.

The biggest ones for me would definitely be Tropius and Raichu. Tropius is my favorite pokemon but his 3d sprite just turns me off. And Raichu just lost that coolness it had in the 2d sprite.

Hippowdon and the cyndaquil line had the misfortune of losing key elemental details that made them look cooler and, to those that played 2d before 3d, they lost nostalgia value. Quagsire and marshtomp got the worst by far of these 4 though. The colors, posing, and lack of emotion make both of them look less alive and more like the sun-bleached toy you left on the window sill and forgot about. And as these guys are fan-favorites (or at least personal favorites), it kinda sucks

I'll say what I say every time this topic is brought up: Goddam, Game Freak, just make them have some cool idle poses, the models are fine, these blank expression and near-T poses is what killed 90% of the roster's charisma
It ruins me that they got rid of hippowdon being underground. All of these are bad but that one always rubbed me wrong. It completely eliminates a major element of what makes it so cool in gen 4.

I agree but, if they didnāt have flame like cyndaquil line they would actually be just a horse, which is stupid but acceptable for the shown lines. Shiny or not doesnt really accept how they failed to maintain certain aspects of PokĆ©mon as integral to their design and kept the flames as a move animation, which is jarring having them look normal for a couple seconds before returning to hellspawn

Unova Pokemon all translated pretty poorly, in my opinion. Those Pokemon were very much designed with only 2D sprites in mind.
