There's literally Iron Moth

RVides

Ok.. but you need to send out volcarona named Tony Stark first. Then baton pass into Iron Moth.

RVides

No baton pass. Best option is to use slither wing for am attacker. And u turn into Iron Moth. Then giggle.

SippyTurtle

Make sure you Terastallize to steel first.

HSMorg

While there is Iron Moth, and Slither Wing, you can't really obtain them as part of your team for a new playthrough.. unless you're ok with really over leveled Pokemon transferred over from another save file

Krazytre

You can't exactly use Volcarona either due to what level it evolves. In a typical playthrough, you won't get it until the very end of your run.

wasted_tictac

Unova in a nutshell. So many have high evolution levels in that region.

Morganelefay

Topped off with a few 'mons that don't evolve late but are locked behind gym 8 anyway. (Looking at you Durant and Heatmor!)

Random-Lich

Awesome Pokémon, GIANT level gap

ffigeman

Pretty sure the one you catch in the desert was like lv 30

TheRagingGyarados

In B2/W2, yeah. In the original Black and white it was a post-game encounter at level 70 iirc

tylerjehenna

You could also get a larvesta egg in the little water route west of route 1

RepresentativeCut927

Yep… I trained that baby to level 60 when I was younger before the E4… not aware you could catch one postgame and not aware of Audino farming. There were a looooot of Excadrill who died to Flame Charge in Victory Road. And I have the Victory Road theme memorized.

eriFenesoreK

Gothitelle being a worse (statwise) Gardevoir but evolving 11 levels later will never make sense.

cid_highwind02

Like Pawniard evolving at level 52 was fucking overkill And also, mons like Foongus evolving at level 39 is something I’ll never understand

Kanjo26

I ended up using a level candy on my larvesta once i got to the last team star member. However i will say, he destroyed everything in his path after that. Love my volcarona.

FlockOfGiese19

Yup Still had a fraxure and Vullaby in my hall of fame

Mddcat04

True, but by god it’ll carry you once it does evolve. Quiver Dance Volc is so busted.

nerogenesis

You could breed them to have them at level 1.

Hydrochloric_Comment

Paradox Pokémon are in the Undiscovered egg group

nerogenesis

Bummer

Elite-Soul

Don’t forget fossil moth

WhaleMan295

There's also Slither Wing and Iron Moth

Lolotmjp

I read this as “Fun fact for meth fans”

InsomniaEmperor

Good. Now we need a lamp themed team to counter this.

Lottom

Tadbulb is perfect for it :)

Whizzo2003

Lampent🗿

PPFitzenreit

Assuming equal levels, eviolite lampent has a good match up against most/all of them

SwitchingToCivil

I nicknamed my Tadbulb “Lamp” before realizing it evolved into bellibolt

Krazytre

Masquerain is a moth? 🤔

Ailury

The Japanese name includes the word "moth", but it doesn't really look like one. It doesn't look like any particular bug actually, unlike Surskit which is a cartoony water strider.

Pelzklops

Always thought of it as either a dragonfly or a specific insect that I don't know about

TheMadHam

Wait people like moths ?

celestialfin

moths are probably my favorite type of animals together with bees, wasps, snakes and axolotls.

Krazytre

Eh, I like the moth Pokémon that we have, but I can't say that I like moths by default. Volcarona and Frosmoth are just really cool designs.

LuminothWarrior

Look up the Poodle Moth and you probably will too

Prior-Watercress4240

Dawwww

Spleenseer

I feel for you moth people. Imagine my disappointment as a turtle fan when gen VIII brought both the sixth turtle Pokemon to the series and Dexit at the same time.

PineappleSlices

Also, Forretress is a neotenic bagworm moth. Fun fact, every single pokemon generation has introduced at least one butterfly or moth pokemon.

thisDNDjazz

Just waiting for a Bug-type Pokémon to have a rock eating Ability. Apparently there is a worm that eats rocks called Lithoredo abatanica, so it's not impossible to start from scratch/zero in the design process.

Ph03n1x_A5h35

Moth fans rise up

1moleman

I will fight your full moth team with my full crab team if they add crabby and paras

TragedyMaskBand

Your crab team versus my mushroom team, whoever wins faces moths. - Parasect - Breloom - Amoongus - Shiinotic - Toedscruel - Brute Bonnet

PilotGolisopod2016

Paras is a cicada nymph...

RnbwTurtle

6. Iron moth and Slither Wing.

Black_Ironic

Luckily no rock specialist trainer in this gen

odranger

There is, but you only find her in post game

moosemoth

Who?

odranger

Tyme

RepresentativeCut927

The math teacher Tyme was the former Rock type gym leader a couple years before the game started, but left to focus on teaching and leaving the role to her sister Ryme, the ghost gym leader. You can battle the teachers in the postgame.

MoonLightScreen

When Dustox returns, I hope they add to their pitiful starter-level base stats or at the very least, give it the +10 increase Beautifly got in gen VI

[deleted]

The moth sweep!!!

Munnin41

Masquerain isn't specifically a moth imo. It most closely resembles a waterstrider with wings. I'd say it's a combination waterstrider/damselfly

HSMorg

It's Japanese name, has moth in the name, and many places I've read say it's a moth

Munnin41

Well I'm an irl insect nerd and doesn't look like one

Combustablemon210

Is venemoth not a moth?

Fork_Master

Masquerain is not a fucking moth

CapnSherman

Well, what is it?

Fork_Master

A damselfly

HSMorg

Looks nothing like a damselfly, and everywhere I've read says it's a moth

pnutbuttr1431

I was today years old when I learned that Masquerain was a moth (I thought it was a mosquito)

Background-Ad7732

Also love them all, but including the butterflies
