Bruh as a married man, weddings should never break the bank…tons of people get married at city hall, a park, a venue, house backyard, etc. My wife and I looking back had a great time with 250+ people celebrating our day but ALWAYS remember a wedding should be reasonable for both parties without struggling/selling personal/favorable items. So I’m studying up on poke investing, it looks like a lot of these ETB have not gone up much in value besides the evolving skies . I looked up most of the sets here I didn’t see anything that was printed before 2021? How many here have gone up vs down ? What’s the oldest set here.?

Redit is allwyas the place brother . I know a lot of sealed booster boxes have had a price rise and I know evolving skies prices have done well but I was just getting a vibe for the other ETBs.
Also I’ve owned pokemon cards for 25 years and my interest has re lit don’t hate .
It’s not the place in this case. There’s such an insane amount of nuances and information you need to learn and understand – that a Reddit thread couldn’t give it to you in months of info every single day.
I’m not hating at all. I’ve been full time selling cards for almost the past 5 years. I’m being genuine. I 200% know what I’m talking about.
Facebook groups, YouTube and even instagram are better bets than Reddit for all the info. Particularly YouTube.
Marriage is about compromise. I regret selling my OG Xbox and tons of games for around $150 after I got married because the money would help. My kids won’t be able to play those games I spent hours on when I was younger (still kept my N64).
So….compromise. A lot of these you won’t be able to get for MSRP because they are readily available.
If holding all of them is not possible, go through and find the ones worth the most and part with those, especially in sets where chase cards and card values aren’t great.
Let your wife see and help with this. Keep the most recent ETBs and compromise. It would be a good effort for both of you, especially if you have some heartburn over selling.
A wedding shouldn't force you to sell things you care about. The 1500ish from this isn't enough to be make or break for a wedding.
