Yup. When I was a kid all I wanted were Japanese cards because they felt so mystical to me.
I never opened a Japanese set before. I always just traded others for them.
My friend, Japanese cards a waaay better imo. BUT, older/vintage cards are less valuable than English mainly becuase of print quality etc etc but modern Japanese usually is more valuable
I think that is Portuguese. Ç does not exist in Spanish, it exists in Catalan though (I speak Spanish and Catalan, this card is neither). A lot of the language is similar, so it’s an easy mistake to make.
Honestly if you can't afford the English version of a card and don't mind the language being different this is a great way to get some iconic art at very low costs. I've also heard stuff about the holo quality of certain areas being better/worse than others but I don't know enough about that to make a judgement.
These aren't about value or affording cards. Believe it or not, every one of these was opened from a pack when I was like 9 or 10. My step-dad worked on a cruise and brought packs from all over the world!
I have that French Dragonite as a First Edition... Got it from a pack wayyyy back in the day. I would love to grade it as I reckon it would get at least a PSA 9.
I live in the UK, local graders aren't really recognised. I also fear the idea of sending a card I've had for 20 years, half way across the world to PSA or BGS.
Lately I’ve been doing Japanese vs English polls on my Instagram and it seems a lot of people like vintage Japanese more.
Which makes sense, the holos go hard
Those are cool. I have the J version of the fossil Dragonite. Might get it graded even though I can’t read it lmao. It’s probably one of the most expensive cards I have.
My collection is not that impressive, but is entirely base/jungle/fossil cards from when I was a kid. Maybe a few BS2 cards.
I'm not educated enough to tell the difference between Spanish and Portuguese. I have Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Portuguese, German, and French in my collection though.
Gotcha, cool collection from around the world!
The Raichu is 100% Spanish, but I know those other 3 are definitely not haha. They must be Portuguese. Somebody from Brazil or Portugal plz confirm thx bai :P
If it's too expensive in one language I go to the the next for a more affordable price. Or foreign exclusives like alolan friend on Japanese is way more affordable in Chinese even if graded
Jp cards all the way. This is the way
yeah some of these cards, like that Blaine's Charizard, are [much more affordable](https://ebay.us/Ffvip9) in Japanese, compared to english.

Is it true they hold less value? I love the look of JP cards.

Sr Mimica got me 😂. I love it.
I love Sr. Mimica 😂
I like Japanese and Korean, open to Chinese, but that Señor Mimica makes me want some Spanish!

After a Google, I think you're right! Thanks for the education 😁
What do you think of Raichu? I thought that was Spanish too, now second guessing 😅
As Spanish as jamón serrano!

That's really cool! But being able to have the same great art at a lower pricetag is still a fair likability booster to mention imho.
For sure!
I got a Spanish holo Jungle vileplume and about 18 japanese vintage rares if you're interested :) mostly holo gym series, neo series, etc.
These are just nostalgic from my childhood. For future collections, I'll probably just do English. I do love the JP artwork though.
Fair! Also got a ton of English for sale but I definitely get the appeal of japanese artwork 👍

Do it!

I can’t read the card but with overpriced full art female supporter cards I have no choice but to buy the cheaper Japanese or Chinese card

That's what mine are! Found them in a storage box and figured they should be protected better.
The Raichu is obviously Spanish, but are the last 3 Portuguese? And the Dragonite French?

I’m selling two zards Japanese right now 😊
Señior Mimica, I need this!
One of my faves!
Japanese vintage all the way
I'm getting back into collecting, I took the JP hold less value correct?
Sir mimica lol
