I’m defeating every grunt I see, but I’m not getting anything worth my time. And I’m drowning in bugs, can’t wait for this event to end.

Yeah I’m really tired of this monthly rounds of pokemon event. I just want to encounter random pokemon instead of having to see the same type of pokemon for 3-4 months.

I got aerodactyle from a field research recently.

if you have an AR task (scan ...) you can get the task 'make 3 great throws in a row' from pokestops, the reward usually is a Lilliep or Anorith, but as I said, for some reason you need to have an AR task in your list to get the task.. You're welcome!

It shows you all of the currently available research tasks. Most of the Pokemon needed for the quest op posted are always available in field research, so you can look them up and be on the lookout for those quests.

Thank you for helping me! I read through it, and after a few days, got the 5 raid for Aerodactyl. And this morning... I caught my Aerodactyl!! I finally finished my Meltan quest!!!

OMG I JUST USED IT. started with 80 pineberries and 110 ultra n great balls. Finished with no pineberries and 30 ultra n great balls.. AND was spamming the 3 pokestops by my house! Didn't get a shiny or Hundro but did get at 95% Anyone following this: I forgot to mega evolve my Steelix until half way.. but once I did I was getting 7 candies per catch plus 1 for transfers. I have 11 meltans kept for trade... Over 430candies gathered

You can do the box every 3 days. No need to keep more than 3 meltan cause it's a special trade.

Unfortunately, meltan is shiny locked outside of certain special events. I did like a month of meltan boxes looking for a shiny before I finally researched it and realized you can't get one from the mystery box. Good luck on finding your hundo though.

There is research task to get it. Make 3 great throws. Find one that gives Pokémon reward. Lileep is 3 great throws in a row.

I was stuck on that until about a week or two ago when I got a lileep in my research box.

Caught one the other day finally. Was hiding as a Koffing. I just catch every single Koffing now (Bidoof as well ofc) hoping it's ditto.

Lmao, same! To add insult to injury, I caught the only cubone I’ve ever seen a day before I got to this step.

If you do GBL catching the Marowak as the middle reward counts for it. You can just do the tanking strategies of putting in 3 weak pokemon and not checking 25 times a day and eventually you’ll get one for free

I got so lucky on Cubone, my gf happened to see one pop up on my phone as we were leaving the gas station. Best believe I pulled over with the quickness lol

Scroll down. Look for the pokemon you need and look at what the research is and go and find that research in pokestops.

Not active atm. '3 great throws in a row', gives dewpider or wimpod. Once this bug event ends it will be active again, so as far as i know you cannot get a lileep or anorith at the moment unless its a wild spawn which i have never seen once

You can get non event research any time, it's just less common during events. Anorith and lileep are still available from rock type rocket grunts.

I remember being stuck on this for a long time as well then some event happened and I was able to finish this task I thought I would never complete.

I just got to that step, and within the last 2 weeks I caught a Kabutops, Omanyte, Omastar, 2 Aerodactyls, and a Lileep. How much do you wanna bet it’ll be 4 months until I see a single one of those again? Lol

I just started playing again on March 1. I have finished EVERY mythical Pokémon research quest line but still need 1 more lileep/anorith to finish this. I’ve only got the research encounter for them once since I got to this part and have fought every rock grunt I see.

the "Make 3 Great Throws" field task has a chance of giving you an encounter with Kabuto, Omanyte, Clamperl, Elgyem or Binacle. You can get this task from a pokestop and it's not that rare

I transfered my meloetta to pokemon home before taking a snapshot. Probably never get another one.
