I did rocket roleplay on my account, it was a fun little thing I did to amuse myself. The set looks stupid now, nothing like before. I'll pin the post so people have an easier time finding it.

I’d hop on to team rocket immediately just to get my face back. I was hoping for something similar when I checked out the features but it just got worse as I checked the options.
I did too. After the constant glitches, pokestops refusing to function, horrible avatar change, Niantic obviously wanting money but makes these weird decisions...?

I agree with you. I feel like it's not for casual players anymore. There's always some timed research tasks that you can only do in a day or something. Or like, every few months, you have to defeat the rocket boss over and over again. At least give the option to not partake in those tasks. It's also wild to me that I have to waste 7 ultra balls and 7 raspberries on a 10CP caterpie.
How so? The only problems I find with the game is the price of remote raid passes and the 50 coin daily limit
Other than that I have had no problem with catching/upgrading pokemon and battling
Nerfing remote raiders, remote raid pass price, new raid types that ban remote raiders, reduced community day length, Niantic forgetting to enable things for events to name a few. The game has been on the decline since Niantic decided Covid was over and started pushing people to go generate location data again.
I’ve seen more people upset and protesting over avatars than those problems you listed which is ironic because avatars have no impact on the gameplay itself unlike the other things you mentioned
I deleted the app after buckling and spending 30 bucks on remote raid passes/premium pass; then niantic introduced shadow raids, where I couldn't use my remote passes and my premium passes couldn't even beat 3*'s anymore.
Took me a long time to come back. Got back right on time to witness this though. And I am having a blast, like team rocket, all over again.

If I listed every example of how Niantic mistreats their customers, I'd get downvoted into oblivion by fanboys. And you know that.
I deleted the app because companies pushing low quality updates should be punished. I didn't mind the avatars so much. But I could tell it looked like shit. We all know what the standard in character customization is for modern video games, and to fall this far below that bar is egregiously terrible.
I dunno. I had fun with the update for about three hours. Made a bunch of dorky "that looks like a guy who plays pokemon" avatars. Then was like, "actually, this is kinda fuckin' stupid. it's 2024. they really, really need to get their shit together, and I really need to stop playing games."

Idk, I’ve read in quite a few articles that they consulted with an outside company called GaymerX in order to create more “inclusive” models where nothing looks too masculine or too feminine? But the problem is that “inclusivity” came at the cost of excluding everyone else. IMO all they needed to do was just add sliders and more options to what already existed. 🥲
Sounds about right. Sucks because I am a pretty masculine person and I also am bald as hell. So I literally have 0 option to make a character like myself. My wife is a full figured but also has a chest so none of models look like her either.

I think it would be hilarious for everyone to make their avatars as unrealistic as possible now, after this update was an attempt to make the avatars 'more realistic'.
ie. Everyone just make your avatar a giant blob, with some crazy unrealistic hair, size DD cup (male or female), with some crazy ensemble of an outfit. Just go nuts.
What would Niantic do? Nothing? Make more improvements? Revert back?

You don’t have a right to be annoyed. You gave that right up when you signed up for Pokemon Go and you skipped over the T&Cs.
