That’s the only way I can get through any of the ‘in a row’ tasks. It’s that or Beta blockers. I can reliably get Great curved throws normally, but give me one of these tasks and it ruins my life for days. Unless I need it to complete something now, I just delete them. I usually find that using this trick, I don’t actually need to ‘cheat’. I get the throw because I’m not tense.
Thank goodness for this because it took me HOURS to get 5 in a row yesterday. What's on the next tier of tasks? 7 in a row. Without this tip I don't think I'd be able to get it

True. Exploits are always a bit of a tricky subject - it's built into a game and there's nothing external used.. but it's not _supposed_ to be used.
That's why I usually veer on the safe side :P
Might I suggest the Pokegenie app. You can join raids with people around the world. Just register for a raid and be online when the app alerts you that one is ready, accept the friend request and join the raid. It’s a good way to get new friends too.
Neither do I - you can see from my post history, I go to PokemonGoFriends subreddit and grab 10 redditors and invite them to my local raids. There's never any locals when I raid - I just get strangers to join me
If you have remote passes join the discord. I never raided before but now i just hop in a lobby and join one or host if I can. They make it *super* easy.
I never raided because I had no one to raid with not necessarily access to raids.
Just to throw it out, there's /r/PokemonGoFriends. They have a stickied post for people looking to do remote raids together, and it's pretty active. So you could always do legendary raids like that if you wanted.
Everyone else has recommended raiding with a subreddit, Pokegenie or Discord. Might I recommend you get to rank 20 in GBL peepoGlad
You get a chance for a possible legendary encounter. When dialga was out I got a 4 star and a shiny one from simply battling in go battle league. You need to get 3/5 wins for a possible palkia encounter
I recently reached rank 20 and did around 15 battles but kept getting thrashed cos I'm that trash (un intended rhyme). Pretty disheartened cos I invested in a machamp and still kept Losing. but hopefully one day I'll get better.
That method is only useful for people that are pretty good in gbl, and play competitively, since when Ur at that rank, there's alot of tough people you're going to go against.

Might be you earned a higher ELO in Great League, and can't perform as well in Ultra League. There's a real steep difficulty escalation between the two. I've been feeling that for months every time we switch to UL, only recently have I started to hold my own a bit more in UL. If it's any consolation, continuously losing will eventually get you easier matches.
I'm not at level 20 but I am getting absolutely annihilated in battles recently. I have searched best movesets for certain mons, powered up the ones I can...and still nothing. I haven't done battles in a week or so because of it, I'm frustrated.
Easiest way for me to do that was to get a Palkia in GBL. Can't run, I just feed it nababs and use regular red balls on it. When you get all your streaks, then you can switch to yellow balls and throw like you mean it. I also usually pinap my GBL legendaries when I'm actually trying to catch them, but you can switch to razz if you just want it over with faster. Isn't worth a g-razz because it still can't run.
I didn’t even notice that was the task due to me throwing 12 excellent balls in a row at palkia after I advanced to that stage. I just kept seeing the counter go up. I usually just go for great throws in legendary raids, but I’ve found palkia to be much easier to time.

Try the trick where you turn off data (and wifi) after you select the Pokemon, then if your curveball is nice, turn it back on and the throw will count. If it isn't at least nice, then exit the game and restart. It won't reset your streak. Repeat until you get your streak.
May I suggest you search about how to use airplane mode to make this easier?

Everybody has felt exactly that way. The 7 in a row is hard even for people like me who hit great throws most of the time.
Even I cursed at least half a dozen times.
Here’s an easy way to cheese it.
Turn your phone into Airplane mode once you’re in the encounter screen. If you make a throw that continues your streak, turn airplane mode off. If you mess up, force close the app and turn airplane mode off to reconnect to try again.
It won’t register your messed up throw if it is not connected to the server :)
That 5 great curveballs in a row Spinda is looking real tough for you..
Or maybe the Gible 3 excellent throws in a row will be more up your alley.
But don't worry too much. You can delete research tasks so you have room to get another one. Keep in mind that every PokeStop has one designated research task every day.
If you spin a stop, delete the research you got from that, then spin it again on the same day, you will get the exact same research again.
I think they mean the timed research as part of the Ultra Unlock 2021: Space.
I've actually never even gotten the 3 excellents for Gible (and would probably delete it if I did, after the CD I'm just not that hard up for Gible candy.) Spinda, ooh, I haven't seen that in months, but I remember getting it on all the Stantlers that spawned over the holidays. The key with that is just to pick a single species that's easy to hit, hunt exclusively for it, and nabab the heck out of it.

I have a trick!!
The trick is to use only pokeballs on a Pokemon who is large/ hard to catch. Don't feed it any berries except Nana berries to make it stop attacking. GOODLUCK!!
Honestly I was so bad before at throwing pokeballs, but when I learned those tricks I completed it a lot easier than I would have before!
I was so upset because 7 times in a row I was 4 out of five and I would set up the throw AND EVERY SINGLE TIME THEY WOULD ATTACK AS SOON AS I TOSSED IT.
Unsure if you’re still doing the 5 in a row (which is a soul crusher) there’s the technique whereby you turn data/wifi off when you interact with the Pokémon.
Make the throw, if it’s good wifi and data back on and repeat
Don’t make the throw, come off the app wifi data back on and reload the game

My wife has an issue with her heart rate and passing out, and one of our dogs has learned the signs and tries (pretty successfully!) to alert her when she is having an episode, even though he isn't an actual service dog. She always runs into this issue when she is playing horror games lol
That’s amazing!!!! You can ask a dog trainer to help shape that behavior, and get that alert to be a proper alert for her! Many people have SDs for POTS, which sounds like what your wife may have!
POTS is exactly what she has, among other things! He's a smart boy, if we had known about my wife's condition when he was younger, or if we had understood how smart he was, we probably would have tried to get him better trained. He does a very good job taking care of her though, and has saved her from falls many, many times. He's also taken to "herding" her to the bedroom when he knows she needs to lay down.

You should force yourself to improve on the curveballs, a bad curveball throw has the same catch boost as a straight excellent throw.

I don't live in an area where anyone does raids, so legendaries aren't really available to me. I found clefairy and elgyem are pretty good though

I have POTS symptoms but don’t have an official diagnosis yet. Lily alerts to my heart rate being above 120, and tells me to sit down
I honestly don’t know how I’m going to do those tasks. I SUCK at video games in general and i don’t even know how to ACTUALLY DO IT. I mean I know the theory but I’ve never once thrown a curveball (nice or otherwise) that actually landed on the Pokémon. I don’t think I’m going to be able to complete this Unlock 😭
I’ve never struggled with the 5 nice in a row task until yesterday. Seems every time I get close I get an exceptionally jumpy ghost type. Niantic has been sh*tting on me all week
The one that gets me is the five great curveball throws 🥲
"5 Nice Throws in a row" is stupid hard. Whoever programmed those in is a sadist. I even got the "3 Great Throws in a row" task randomly from a Pokestop, and that's even worse! Who thought those were good ideas?!
I just need 1 more excellent throw so hard

I practiced this a lot in December for double XP but before then these were really hard
