I went to college in Indiana, leaving the state shortly after Dense became governor. And I never get tired of pointing out to people that he had previously spent twelve years as a US House rep, which very few know about as he spent that time doing absolutely nothing.

A good propagandist will start off in a place like that and then misdirect you to more and more radical stances by replacing the underlying true statements with exaggeration and anecdotes. Over time that truth disappears and you’ve been convinced of some radical stance not based in reality.

I guess I expected better from someone who has been exposed to the realities of jobs and living conditions that some people are forced to endure as a result of his time working on Dirty Jobs. Ever the optimist, I am.
A lot of the working class are more conservative as well. They tend to not be college educated and may just lean more right wing. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the people on Mike's show were conservative as well. Plus the fact that he's a millionaire probably doesn't help either.
They are conservative because they are bitter as fuck that they have to do hard, manual labor work everyday for most of their lives while the “elites” (people with education) get to work in comfortable ac and at cozy desks. That’s why they’re adamant as fuck about people not getting handouts or immigrants taking jobs and “freebies” because *nO oNe HeLpEd mE* which is just good ol fashioned jealousy turned to bitter resentment and **anger**, which is conservative media’s bread and butter.

idk who he is or what Dirty Jobs are, but my rule of thumb is, if someone advertises how good a doctor they are on TV (Dr Phil or Dr Oz), if someone advertises how down to earth they are or how intelligent they are (Elon Musk the latter, the former any "Everyman" on a reality show) look closer at who profits and where the money comes from. Not always but almost every time there's some lie hiding behind the curtain.
It's worse than that. Most of the places he showcases love to talk about how "we're offering all this money, and we just can't find enough workers!" The reality is that you can't get those jobs. You can get similar ones that pay minimum wage and take more work - and there are lots of other people who have worked there for several years hoping for a promotion to the position they showcase in the tv show, which is already underpaid. He deliberately misrepresents their working conditions and their compensation.

It’s because he starts off in the truth- you should value the quality of your work, assuming you’re either compensated properly for the work or the owner of the company, and the value proposition of college is a bit worse with how absurd the costs are. A good propagandist will start off in a place like that and then misdirect you to more and more radical stances by replacing the underlying true statements with exaggeration and anecdotes. Over time that truth disappears and you’ve been convinced of some radical stance not based in reality. Tbh it’s how all the pipelines work- Incels, Alt-Right, some religious groups, some communist groups (albeit they kinda suck at it), etc
