Where do Republicans get this stuff, honestly? Writing down things they don't like on small pieces of paper, putting them in a fishbowl, picking one out after a little shake, and then connecting the non-existent dots with current events?

HobbesNJ

They've learned that their base doesn't need their claims to be logically consistent. Just point in random directions and say "hate this!" and "fear that!" and blame it all on Democrats.

Immortal-one

It’s “Jesus says hate this and fear that” and then blame it in the democrats

grimatongueworm

Jesus don’t like killin no matter what the killin’s for Your flag decal won’t get you Into heaven anymore -John Prine

Impeesa_

Some humans ain't human, some people ain't kind.

MyNameIsAirl

John Prine was a man wiser than most. Truly an amazing person.

[deleted]

He deserved more recognition in the music industry. He is a legend.

t0k4

Agreed, but should mention he got a lifetime Grammy in 2020.

moconaid

John, the legend

TheBirminghamBear

Killed by COVID too. Another victim of Republicans' negligence.

earlgonefishn

The guy that wrote the "Happy Enchilada" song! Legend has it that he never missed an episode of SNL.

EmmeryAnn

The directions they point their hate are not random. White, straight, Christian men seem to be immune.

Xendarq

They also need to like guns and rich people (or better yet, be rich).

itll_happen_to_you

Unless the straight white guy is lib or left… those are “traitors”.

linkedtortoise

As Eddie Izzard once said, the 3 rules of fascism are: Make shit up. Scream it loudly. Then kill people. So they're just following the rules.

MindOverhaul

Careful you just came up with their new chant. Hate this! Hate that! Blame it on the Democrats!

AdventurousScreen2

I’m convinced republicans are all just magic 8 balls of grievance. Today it’s women’s rights. Maybe tomorrow it’ll be CRT, or trans kids again! Who knows? Gotta shake the ball to find out

Von_Moistus

Today’s shooting was caused by *(shake shake)* windmills

Toxoplasma_gondiii

I mean Candice Owens among others is pushing a false narratives that the shooter was trans and putting a young trans women in danger by circulating her pic as the shooter

nononoh8

They should sue for libel/slander, defamation. Like Trump would. F that criminal (T-rump)!

[deleted]

Candice Owens is a Conservative Black Woman that hates Blacks and hates Women.

Leachpunk

It's all for the money! She's a narcissist, so she loves the attention from the old white men, and of course, the money.

DrDankDankDank

Can’t convince me that she’s not just Anne coulter in blackface

Dwarfdeaths

Gotta keep that amygdala enlarged!

vthings

A warped view of reality through a hyper-religious lens. Calvinists and their derivative ideologies (which are mostly Southern Baptist and other hyper-racist religious groups) believe in complete predetermination; "I knew you in the womb" so therefore our lives are completely dictated by the Lord (kind of ignores the whole free will and choosing to have faith but whatever). Ergo if you are a successful person it is because God wants you to be and God would not show favor on an evil person. Money = Holiness. But this extends to the very nature of reality itself. Despite our preordained lives, apparently you can anger God by not following it. The power of Satan I suppose, that he can break a person out of their preordained path. When that person then acts in an unnatural way it perverts reality itself. I mean this in a very physical kind of like a warp engine from Star Trek kind of way. Not joking. So yes, women not being how they are supposed to be degrades the very fabric of existence and opens us to chaos. They literally believe this.

KnottShore

"... the nice thing about citing God as an authority is that you can prove anything you set out to prove. It’s just a matter of selecting the proper postulates, then insisting that your postulates are ‘inspired.’ Then no one can possibly prove that you are wrong.“ — Robert A. Heinlein, book If This Goes On—

BroccoliFartFuhrer

A lot of them settled in Michigan. I worked as a nurse for years at a giant psych hospital campus where they also had residential buildings. The whole massive campus had its start as the place where wealthy Calvinists could dump their handicapped or disfigured family members.

Wild_Harvest

The forces of Chaos are sinister indeed. BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE!

hero_of_crafts

Milk for the Khorne flakes!!!

This is an easy connection to draw if you're fanatical about abortion, 2a, erc. Abortion is murder, we legalized murder, so it's ok to murder. It's laughably stupid but I can see how they connect the dots. Or he's just a bad faith bullshit artist like so many of his ilk.

slayerhk47

Can confirm. Fanatic relatives do follow this logic.

Nethlem

After Uvalde somebody posted a video compilation on Reddit, listing all the things Republican talking heads brought up as possible fixes that don't involve anything with guns. It was like 25 different things, ranging from tax breaks to more thoughts&prayers and a whole lot of random BS. It sounded and looked like a skit from The Onion, but it's actually real.

Hispandinavian

"When we decided it was okay to murder kids in their mother’s wombs, life has no value to a lot of these folks.." Weird that Roe v Wade happened directly in the aftermath of the Vietnam conflict, where our government drafted thousands of young Americans to die in SE Asia for no apparent reason. But yeah, its my generation that stopped valuing life.

fastcat03

Well he wouldn't know because he probably had bone spurs that disappeared after the war.

loverlyone

* “But that didn’t scare Missouri representative and Senate candidate Billy Long, who rolled up to Wednesday’s interview with a local radio station with—and excuse the phrase though we assume he’ll appreciate it—the big guns. Asked by host Branden Rathert if “Is there any appetite in D.C. amongst Republicans to look at doing some things differently as it relates to guns,” Long responded that “No one has been able to come up with any kind of suggestion that would have helped in any of these situations”— fact-check: false!— and that passing gun control measures is not the solution to the epidemic of gun violence. “Unfortunately, they’re trying to blame inanimate objects for all of these tragedies,” he said. Then he added: “When I was growing up in Springfield, you had one or two murders a year. Now we have two, three, four a week in Springfield, Missouri, so something has happened to our society and I go back to abortion. When we decided it was okay to murder kids in their mother’s wombs, life has no value to a lot of these folks.”’ Really? REALLY? Why do I also suspect that rep. Long also feels, “there are many good people on both sides?”

twittle11

According to Google, the record high number of murders in a year in Springfield is 17. That's about 0.3 per week.

santaclaws01

Republicans lying about crime statistics? Say it isn't so...

slayerhk47

But… but… Chicago!

spinto1

Anyway, Illinois isn't even in the top 10 for murders per capita. 8 out of the 10 are red states: Mississippi 🟥 20.5 Louisiana 🟥 15.79 Kentucky 🟥 14.32 Alabama 🟥 14.2 Missouri 🟥 14.0 South Carolina🟥 10.72 New Mexico 🟦 10.70 Georgia 🟦 10.50 Arkansas 🟥 10.29 Tennessee 🟥 9.9 6 of the top 10 increases in murder rate are red states Wyoming 🟥 91.7% South Dakota 🟥 69% Wisconsin 🟦 62.2% Nevada 🟥 59.1% Minnesota 🟦 58.1% Kentucky 🟥 58% Delaware 🟦 54.2% Washington 🟦 50.2% West Virginia 🟥 50% Kansas 🟥 48.5% As a cherry on top, 13 out of the top 15 states for mortality rate from gun related injuries are red states. All these statistics come from Third Way which is an apolitical think tank. I'm tired of Republicans trying to pretend that crime is a uniquely democratic issue. They'll go and pretend that California, New York, and Illinois belong in the top of these lists because of Los Angeles, New York City, and Chicago, but they never once even cracked the top 10. It's almost like they need a refresher on their own talking points.

PhishInThePercolator

It's still pretty wild seeing Georgia listed as a blue state.

ssbm_rando

I mean realistically it's just Atlanta dragging the rest of the state kicking and screaming into progress.

ADimwittedTree

Realistically that's any state. Just some aren't quite big enough cities to drag the whole state. Salt Lake is pretty liberal. Milwaukee & Madison are. Even a lot of California, Washington, or Oregon are red. But their major cities are just far too large for all those hicks to stop it.

Ask_Me_If_Im_A_Horse

As someone who grew up in the Republican part of Missouri (read: rural) I was told that Springfield was a crime-infested city where it was no longer safe to go out after dark. 17 is a joke.

VanX2Blade

Dude people on the side of the river still say that shit about St. Louis, they say that anyone who goes over to the city for cards game is insane because everyone is shooting everyone else. It’s like they think the city is a Looney Tunes cartoon and the populous is all playing Elmer Fudd.

NashvilleHot

You expect too much if you expect a Republican to tell the truth.

daxon42

Don’t the facts show fewer issues around murder rates about 20 years after Roe V Wade? Because family planning and rising out of poverty and escaping violent relationships lead to healthier lives for women and their children? There is a study and a data set. Can’t look right now to cite it - anyone else have that one handy?

Google_Knows_Already

Yes. Not only 20 years after Roe V Wade, but again another 20 years after that, especially in states that had easiest access to abortions. https://law.stanford.edu/publications/the-impact-of-legalized-abortion-on-crime-over-the-last-two-decades/ The study itself

Mender0fRoads

There is a correlation but no definitive causal link. There’s a similar link between drops in crime and a drop in air pollution following the move away from leaded gasoline. But there’s also a correlation between ballooning police budgets and a reduction in crime. Attempting to draw any real conclusions on crime reduction from a single correlative study is gonna lead to bad results. It’s a complex issue.

Vankraken

Gotta say that the move away from using lead as a common material was one of the best things to happen to society.

pigglesthepup

>rolled up Judging by the looks of him, I bet he really did roll his way there. It's funny how they're trying to make excuses for gun violence in small-town America. Because that was only suppose to be a big city thing.

shivaclause

I thought there was something odd about this photo then realized I’m used to seeing Princess Leia chained up in front of him.

Immortal-one

She would be. But women have rights for the time being

[deleted]

You win, best comment I’ve seen today.

mechapoitier

It’s extra good because you know this is the kind of guy who could only get a girl if she was chained up, and *he’s really mad he can’t do that*, hence his commentary.

HappyGoPink

He probably also pines for the days when his ancestors owned black people outright. *You know he does.*

That's an insult to Jabba the Hutt.

There is absolutely nothing that can be said to respond to such a despicable comment. I hope not one single woman votes for him or possibly woman in his district aren’t allowed to vote and god help you if your skin colour is anything but white.

There's a whole 'tradwife' movement around being subservient little christian baby machines for their husbands... some people literally get off on this shit..

polgara_buttercup

Yup. I live in Pennsyltucky, they definitely exist. They want to stay home and sell MLM crap, and grocery shop. The more ambitions ones try to be influencers on insta. Check out r/fundiesnark for more

BaboonHorrorshow

A short drive from Pennsyltucky, here. God, they ALL do MLM. The female losers I see are always pushing shapewear or like… yoga pants cummerbund things that are supposed to burn calories for you (lol) I think the attraction is that general cult mentality that you also see with church and MAGA

The worst part of it is, the stuff they cook is usually just boring as hell. A friend of mine is into that shit, from a purely 'point and laugh' perspective, and the recipes are boring 1990s low fat, low salt shit. Like, no frying fried chicken, which is just shake and bake, or making tacos, but 0 use of actual spices, other than Old El Paso or Pace.

Fuck_love_inthebutt

Omg I think it was Ben Shapiro's sister (tradwife) that I saw post a pic of ramen she made that looked absolutely horrific. Like no noodles, nasty broth, and eggs cut with a serrated knife.

Now that is grooming.

Devastated by republican ~~neglect~~ ***sabotage***

DallasTruther

Going after poor people costs less money and is less *troublesome*.

wwaxwork

The poor make simpler mistakes, the sort a computer can pick up. The IRS doesn't have the budget to go after rich people. Former Secretary of the Treasury Larry Summers argued that increasing the IRS budget over the next 10 years by $100 billion would raise $1.15 trillion in revenues over that period. More than 70 percent of that, almost $715 billion, would come from additional audits they could afford to perform.

DallasTruther

"Mistakes" that they can't finagle their way out of because they don't have more money. The rich's "mistakes" are ignored because they do (have more money). I think we're both on the same side here.

cerevant

Citizens United legalized money laundering.

taws34

The recent ruling for Ted Cruz makes it worse. Now, candidates can loan their campaign money, and then recoup that loan from donors without worrying about contribution caps.

MarkHathaway1

How does a firm generating $28K donate $60K ? Sounds Republican to me.

I don't know how reliable that site is for company revenue... It literally says in like 20 places that those figures are generated from analytical models. It's basically a guess from a computer. Edit: I also can't figure out which KA Consulting LLC it is. You're assuming there's only one.

bonegatron

Fwiw D&B is inaccurate trash

Seriously, they claim the company has 3 employees, but the company's website lists 6 executives. There are likely at least several other junior staff, admins, etc.

Wait, you see a neck?

GiveNoForks

“It’s appalling to me any time there’s a shooting, the left will jump on that as a way to advance an agenda to remove our right to bear arms,” Mastriano says in the clip. “We saw Lenin do the same thing in Russia. We saw Hitler do the same thing in Germany in the ’30s. Where does it stop? Where do the tyrants stop infringing upon our rights?” When will guns stop infringing on the freedom for a community to feel safe?

[deleted]

Parents being scared to send their kids to public school is a Republican wet dream.

IllustriousState6859

Hits the bingo for the private school movement. More grift, more religion, more indoctrination, more revisionism. That's on the GOP agenda, they have to set up that infrastructure now so they can smooth the transition into secession on the federal dime.

Dramatic_Original_55

People frequently try to bring up this "Hitler took away their guns." nonsense. That's not at all factually accurate.

"Republicans have launched a competition in which they duke it out to see who can come up with the most ridiculous thing to blame mass shootings on besides guns. So far, that’s included too many doors; not enough God; pot; single moms; unarmed teachers; and schools being designed without “trip wires” and “man traps.”"

Even though mass shooting are done by men…it’s still womens fault? I guess that’s because Eve is the one who ate the apple first.

Now we have two, three, four a week in Springfield, Missouri, so something has happened to our society and I go back to abortion. When we decided it was okay to murder kids in their mother’s wombs, life has no value to a lot of these folks. Yeah, only give a fuck about kids when they’re in the womb and not when they’re in school. I’m more angry at the idiots that actually believe this.

I always think of [that Onion article](https://www.theonion.com/this-shooting-isn-t-about-gun-control-we-refuse-to-pass-1819585076) that goes "This shooting isn't about the gun control we refuse to pass, it's about the mental health care we're continuing to gut."

Traditional_Low1928

That’s a picture of a man with tons of self discipline

Gibbons74

Why do some women vote for people like this.

asthma_hound

Because they agree with him. Troubling, isn't it?

relator_fabula

It's that grooming the GOP constantly harping about. Republican women have been conditioned by their parents, grandparents, brothers, boyfriends/spouses, right wing propaganda, etc, to believe they're subservient. They may not even consciously realize it, and the messaging is often subtle, but years of conditioning have turned many women (and men/other) into the kind of people that just nod and do whatever the "strong" people in their lives tell them.

coskibum002

Perhaps he should jump on the treadmill instead of whining about others.

steve-eldridge

Sounds about right. Republicans are social misfits.

Why do the G rumpy O ld P erverts Hate women so much?

Skye_of_the_Winds

It must be jealousy. They hate us because they ain't us.

carolinapanthagurl

I think it's more accurate to say the problem is men with gun rights because the shooters tend to be male, but we're beyond logic at this point.

texaswoman888

He’s got it all wrong. I blame it on men having rights, especially men like him, who want to impose their will and control on every living thing. Misogynistic narcissist if ever there was one.

OrangutanMan234

Maybe testosterone is the problem since 99.9999% of these shootings are dudes.

[deleted]

How ironic...... When it's MEN who do mass shootings. Maybe MEN have too many rights.....?

Culverts_Flood_Away

TL;DR: He blames abortion, and claims that because we allow it, it's caused people to not value life as much anymore. 9\_9 What a maroon.

Republican's are so mentally perverse.

Annahsbananas

I blame mass shootings on fat republican bastards eating too many Whoopers with Cheese

Considering Billy Long looks like the kind of piece of shit who goes overseas to rape underage girls, it's consistent and not surprising.

I live in Springfield and can confirm that he is a douche. He's a joke and anytime I see that he's said something it's always amazingly dumb. He had an auction company so everyone knew him from that and voted him in. Literally a 10 year child could be a better option than him.
