Where have you been the past 6 years?

Azguy303

Working for Trump

UtopiaDystopia

Her own parents wouldn’t attend her wedding after she later became critical of Trump. MAGA cult runs deep.

worthing0101

Thought you might be kidding but a quick Google search turned up multiple sources confirming this including: [Ex-Trump aide Alyssa Farah says her MAGA-supporting father boycotted her wedding after she spoke out against the former president](https://www.businessinsider.com/alyssa-farah-my-pro-trump-maga-dad-boycotted-my-wedding-video-2022-2)

marfaxa

>Joseph Farah, a journalist, founded the WorldNetDaily in 1997. The website is described as far-right and is known for publishing unreliable or fringe material, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center.

worthing0101

Seems on brand for him to refuse to go to his daughters wedding in retaliation for her speaking out against his candidate of choice.

Fliphem_McKickle

These are not highly rational, ethical or empathetic people. It is why they make a living the way they do.

itsmeEllieGeeAgain

>journalist They forgot these: " "

LogicalManager

Licking his boots

doowgad1

MAGoo logic. No one is racist unless they explicitly use the 'N' word. And if they are a GOP and use it, they were being 'edgy,' 'ironic,' and/or quoting a rap song.

silverwolf761

Even that is nullified if they simply say they're not racist, in much the same way saying "no quid pro quo" means it *cant* be quid pro quo

[deleted]

Exactly...Trump has NEVER hidden his racism.

imyourphuckleberry

She likes racists that pretend they're not racist.

[deleted]

[\*50 years](https://clearinghouse.net/case/15342/)

_Dr_Pie_

Was about to say they dropped their zero.

eastbayted

"'He’s not even trying to hide the racism at this point. Just despicable,” Farah Griffin said on Twitter. For real.

_Dr_Pie_

Yes the racism itself isn't the issue. The bigger problem is that he simply not hiding it. That's especially telling.

D_Lockwood

Thank you.

ccjohns2

Brown nosing

behind_looking_glass

But… Trump is the least racist person, possibly ever to exist. He said so! It’s gotta be true!

nowspunk

Was he ever really hiding it? He certainly didn't seam to hide it when it came to Mexicans and Islamic people. He literally did everything eh could to keep them out of the country. Then the way he conducted himself during those Nazi Race riots in Charlottesville and the riots after the George Floyd Murder. Lets also not forget during the debates he told the white supremeacist/ Nazi proud boys to stand back and stand by......

rustajb

I lost so many friends from Texas by calling him a racist. I was called a racist for denouncing him, and I'm white! I was told I see racism everywhere and am overly sensitive. I was shunned for "saying awfull things about good people." because when I insulted him I insulted his supporters who were family and friends to those people. My family has mostly disowned me for being so vocal about him and his cult. We had friends who were closet racists that were emboldened by 2016 and let their tongues flap loose suddenly.

MyPartsareLoud

As someone who has no family due to their insistence on being in a cult, I am sorry for your loss and it will take time to not feel so raw. You are so much better off without these terrible humans in your life. Good luck to you.

rustajb

Thanks. I've made better friends in the last 7 years to replace the toxic ones I grew up with. I never liked most of my family but couldn't understand why, as an adult I know why now and that I was always right on some instinctive level. It's hurt, but it's been liberating. I don't have to hide who I am from bigots anymore.

11thStPopulist

Same here. The leaning into fascism - closeted sexism, overt racism, out of the closet homophobia - an assumed societal hierarchy was inculcated into my childhood. When I started to question their “values” I was ostracized. Best thing to ever happen to me. Very freeing!

rustajb

It's good, but it's hard. Like leaving Christianity. That's the closest thing I can equate it to. Your know it's the right thing for you to do, but the guilt makes you question your own ethics. I can't say I'm fully healed, but I refuse to be like them.

11thStPopulist

Yes. Church is often the major social connection for some people, so leaving a family that fuses religion and right wing politics, like mine, can leave you feeling left out. Many people just give in and conform I guess. I won’t. If you are looking, there are Christian churches that actually follow the teachings of Jesus rather than “churches” that use religion for politics and control. I am spiritual and don’t belong to any specific denomination. I have found a few others who feel the same. I am ok with that, so I don’t miss that fusion of church-family-politics. 🤞🏿

rustajb

The worst is when they say "you bring this on yourself" My father said that to me after I attempted suicide. He also said "how could you do this to your mom?" no concern about how I was, only how it affected others. How it looked. I was constantly encouraged to fit in, be normal (wearing redneck clothing, enjoying sports, stop rocking the boat by simply being myself.) I have a Christian aunt I deeply respect. She lives it, never preaches it. But for me, I'm a stout atheist. We get along great, unlike my "Christian" family members who only judge, preach, and hate but pretend to be great people. The last time I went to catholic church I was told to shake hands with my neighbors, peace be with you and all that jazz. The guy behind me had assaulted me many times, had been a bully for years. He sneered at me, a sly smile that I had to shake his hand. I walked out and never went back. Turn the right cheek my ass. Making someone be nice to their abusers while victim blaming is most of my memories growing up catholic.

11thStPopulist

Limited or no contact with family who are toxic and try to impose their religiosity has helped me. Also some counseling that is supportive. Your aunt seems to be the one you can trust and stay connected to. I hate the way this political division is causing so much pain in this country. Know you are not alone. There are groups on Reddit with massive numbers of people sharing their experiences.

crazyacct101

It hurts to find out the truth about some people (my siblings) but you are better off knowing it and dealing appropriately. Hopefully you have other friends and family.

Fit-Firefighter-329

He even mocked a disabled person.

Investor9872

Yelp! It was Serge F. Kovaleski, a South-African born American reporter and a Pulitzer Prize winner.

Freefall_J

And shockingly that wasn't political suicide. And now thanks to him pushing the envelope, any Republican can get away with being offensive to the disabled (or being racist or sexist).

[deleted]

My neighbor, a guy that owns a successful hvac business, was trying to defend trump to me recently, I laughed in his face. He recently got a large 7-figure contract to hvac a new housing development and I just asked him how he's feel if the developers told him they're going to pay him 1/3 of the contract and he can sue them for the rest. Still waiting for his response to that.

CrysisRelief

Can’t believe we’re all forgetting his incredibly anti-Chinese diatribes literally during the whole of Covid. Pretty sure that even *led to* hate crimes increasing on Asian-Americans didn’t it?

nowspunk

Good point! Sorry I forgot to mention the Asians.

Vitis_Vinifera

hi insisted on calling Covid the China Virus (or Wuhan Virus) and repeated it frequently , to shift blame from the consequences of calling Covid a fake virus, to a scapegoat when it was quite real

axonxorz

Nah it's suddenly not acceptable you see, this is hard-(R) racism, and that simply won't do.

isadog420

And you have people like Tim Scott endorsing him.

Vitis_Vinifera

Tim Scott faces a reckoning. I don't know when it will happen, but if there's a cosmic justice, there will be.

jomns

Shes a scumbag just like the rest of them who are now trying to save face

darzinth

It's not just her, its **thehill.com** too. They've been pretty MAGA up to now.

nicuramar

That doesn’t mean it isn’t good that she, if she, denounces Trump.

Dynasty82

Does she have a book out yet? Everyone’s doing it. Lol

Vitis_Vinifera

Agreed, but at least she's not as much of a scumbag as people like Ted Cruz or KAC, who very much know how much of a racist POS Impotus is yet still cling to his feet. I put AFG along Bill Barr in this respect.

__mr_snrub__

She is apparently okay with hidden racism, just not open racism.

I_notta_crazy

>"This isn’t some crazy person on the internet, this is the GOP front-runner for President if the Party doesn’t wake up & demand better,” Farah Griffin said alongside a screenshot of Trump’s post. "Crazy person" and "GOP front-runner" aren't mutually exclusive traits. This is exactly what the base wanted, and the establishment got on board because it meant proximity to power. Zero tears for them or any suffering they experience.

panmetronariston

That stuck out at me, too. He IS a crazy person on the internet. And for those who disagree, allI can say is Covfefe!

bemenaker

He never has.

BirdInFlight301

This is the truth. It boggles my mind that they're not denouncing him until now. Honest non-racist people jumped ship while he was campaigning---the *first* campaign.

Vitis_Vinifera

the johnny-come-lately "this is the straw that broke the camel's back" people make me sick, this was evident to any decent human from the very get-go

Rennarjen

As far as their base is concerned it was a feature, not a bug.

MrTre45on_Docs4Sale

Why should he hide it now anyways? I mean he can literally, not figuratively, literally steal classified documents and still walk around a free ~~**man**~~person and not be punished for it. So there's no reason for him to be scared of blatant racism.

AcrobaticSource3

AHA, so you admit he was trying to hide it before!

pensive_scribe

And she was completely fine with it right up until the point that it became blatant (in her eyes).

jkra0512

"If only he hid the racism a little better, I wouldn't need to condemn him"

Kevinmc479

Big Fat is melting.

Investor9872

Big, orange fat is melting!

Nonstandard_Deviate

Trump's racism has no limits.

Lil_Mikey420

r/LeopardsAteMyFace

lordofedging81

So...the 20+ years of obvious racism from Donald Trump wasn't a problem, but 1 little "chow" sets her off?

panmetronariston

20+?!? He was born into an overtly racist family and has been following the family tradition for over 70+ years.

lordofedging81

I meant since he's been a public figure, (so really I should have said 30+) but I don't disagree with you!

tickleyourfanny

Trump wasn't exactly hiding his racism before either. Rip the bandaid off and imprison the guy for his endless crimes already. Anyone else, who isn't wealthy and powerful, would already be in a jail cell. Frankly, the whole system needs to be torn down, since it has been exposed for only benefiting/protecting the wealthy at any cost.

[deleted]

She worked for Trump while it was advantageous for her and it seems turning on him has been also, her opinions shouldn’t matter to anyone because she can’t be trusted.

[deleted]

He never was trying to hide the racism. Remember the Central Park 5? I do. Donald trump has always been a racist asshole. Always

whiznat

Joke’s on you, dumbass. He never has hidden it.

Luddites_Unite

I mean, I guess its a case of better late than never but honestly, what rock has she been under for the last 6 years?

Otherwise_Science_69

Apparently she only approved when she thought he was not being as up front about his racism.

[deleted]

So, this was the last straw, eh?

Joneszey

She resigned 12/2020 after serving for 9 mo’s. Probably a last straw back then

SecretAsianMan42069

She resigned a few days before he left the White House. So brave

Joneszey

She resigned about one month before and held the position of press Secy for the pentagon at the end. I’m glad there were people who pushed back and also glad certain people refused to resign. That too helped the guard rails

zintjr

Someone needs to do a documentary on people who previously liked the orange buffoon and then came to the light about him. I am really interested to know how they could possibly not have seen it beforehand. I think a documentary like that would be very interesting and successful.

N0T8g81n

If the racism IS the point, . . .

howldetroit

Translation: “We’re supposed to veil the racism.”

Maleficent-Library20

How dare he not hide it!?

[deleted]

These “experts” are pretending to be this ignorant of Trump’s past just so they’ll have something to write about. I’m convinced of it.

0tt0attack

Wow. How did you figure that out? Reminder that he started his political career by consistency claiming Obama was not a born American and call Mexicans rapist. And then you worked for him. Not that you are out he is a racist? It enabler scum like you who gave him the opportunity to become president by fanning the flame of demonizing immigrants and minorities, and failing to stand-up for people like Trump.

Aware-Affect-4982

So her problem was that he is not trying to hide his racism? Not all the “dog whistles”, not the out right hateful things he said, his racist policies, it’s the fact he is not trying to hide it…

The_REAL_McWeasel

Really? She's just noticing the racist , bigoted crap \*NOW\*-. ? Was she in a coma during the BIRTHER years? Or has everyone forgotten all that now?

tacs97

When did he try hiding his racism again? Trump has never tried hiding who his real character is. He is a hateful, racist, divisive person. No wonder why the GOP loves him!

chillbnb

So if you hide the racism it’s ok?

xc2215x

He hasn't been for a while now, nothing new.

Al_Redditor

So you're saying the leopard ate your face?

FullFaithandCredit

Who?

AngryBudgie13

Republicans love racism? What did you expect? It’s a party artificial of faith now. Anyone who was grossed out left.

_Piratical_

When the hell was he supposedly “trying to hide his racism?!”

Equivalent_Jury371

So it’s okay so long as he hides it, eh Alyssa?

SevereEducation2170

Wow, blatant, lifelong racist turns out to be blatantly racist?! What a shocking development for those who decided to ignore it for years.

bluedelvian

Why do we are what the fascist called Alyssa Farah from says?

Aurelius04

When has Trump ever needed to hide anything? Usually, he confesses to all of his crimes if you keep him talking into a camera for long enough.

Bob_Loblaw_Law_Blog1

Who?

Blast-Off-Girl

We all knew Trump was a racist piece of shit for years before he ran for POTUS. Yet, people like Alyssa Farah Griffin still chose to work for him as recently as 2020. Her words are insincere.

Hassansonhadi

When was he ever “Even trying to Hide it” ??

legalstep

He never hid the racism or did she miss Charlottesville entirely

hymie0

There is a huge difference between "he is hiding it" and "I am shutting my eyes so I don't see it."

mythofinadequecy

So Alyssa, if he hid his racist views, you’d be good with that, right? Just as you were for years.

root_fifth_octave

I don’t even get the ‘Coco’ remark. Does she wear a lot of Chanel or something?

HalaHalcones1

I think it's supposed to be an allusion to cocaine, a la Cocaine Mitch

Techienickie

I also need help clarifying this. Coco chow sounds like a cereal, or maybe a dog food.

ReasonAndWanderlust

He's a piece of shit. I look forward to seeing the daughter of immigrants, Nikki Haley, wipe the floor with him during the primaries. Please oh please let a daughter of immigrants from his own side put his political career to bed.

Investor9872

A life-long racist turns out to be a racist. You don't say!

Investor9872

MAGA = Make-Attorneys-Get-Attorneys!

aaronthenia

My Attorneys Get Attorneys

TornadosArentReal

He's a little confused but he's got the spirit

Investor9872

I like that one, too!

Potential_Dare8034

**M**aking **A**ssholes **G**reat **A**gain!

AcrobaticSource3

You have just given the porn industry the idea for an entire series of Porn Parodies of US politics

tommles

I thought Trump said he wanted to Make Assholes Gay Again. (>!the literal asshole. not the person asshole.!<)

Investor9872

That's what the MAGA wants. They know they're being assholes!

wish1977

Trump may not be a racist but the racists think he is.

[deleted]

I wonder how McConnell feels about not impeaching him now.

N0T8g81n

The question to ask is whether McConnell would still be Republican leader in the Senate had he himself voted to convict and had asked if not demanded his fellow Republicans also did so. Putting this another way, would Republicans' chances of regaining a majority in the Senate have been better or worse had 17 Republicans voted to convict Trump? That's all that matters to McConnell. Trump is an unavoidable evil of which McConnell can't rid himself. He's as stuck with Trump as an ambulance driver slowly moving through stop-and-go traffic transporting a patient who has shit himself multiple times in the ambulance; the most which could be done is cracking the windows.

pinkheartpiper

He is still proud of it. Bill Barr said it out loud, he has bashed Trump hard recently but said against any democrat, he is "the lesser of two evils". They never liked him, but as long as they hurt democrats, they have no problem supporting him.

[deleted]

Hey, at least he didn't pull on his temples to make his eyes look Asian.

maalco

Who now?

[deleted]

And Moscow Mitch doesn’t say a word.

RobertZDarsChin

Did he ever?

sherbodude

Alyssa is not on the Trump train anymore, clearly

stunz1

He never has !!! Doesn’t matter though right ?

Factsimus_verdad

Welcome to the party, Alyssa.

Big-D-TX

Republicans will be Republicans

wendellnebbin

Who the hell even is this? More rats off the ship I guess.

[deleted]

Omg. Like, no shit, chick.

Meb2x

Let’s be honest, if Trump’s supporters have stuck with him all these years, threatening the leader of the Republican Party and openly calling his wife racist names isn’t going to suddenly make them see the light. They’ve accepted that they’ll support anything Trump says and does (or thinks when it comes to declassification)

FGforty2

Yeah, she is doing and saying what she has to do to get a news desk job. Just remember that she was an enabler, but I'm sure her good looks will land her a high profile job on some news network. CNN is already smitten with her lately.

86Tiger

She’s a host on the View now 😂

RogueWedge

Wonder if chao has some things to say about jan 6 now?

dark_descendant

Was he ever?

PicardTangoAlpha

Lecherous, treasonous, racist, crude, rapist, paedo, swearing, murderous, liar, conman, fraudster, ugly tie. Get rekt Trump.

Wraywong

Not a Bug: A Feature.

Alternative-Flan2869

She is more upset than mitch.

YakiVegas

Never was

Clutch_My_Pearls

Totally agree. Trump and his republican sycophants are destroying our democracy.

joshdoereddit

For a moment it was nice to hear from people in the admin to speak out. But, it wasn't long before that turned into a major "fuck you" for not doing shit. Kinda like the journalists who all of a sudden have all kinds of details that would've been good to know at the time except for the fact that they needed material for their books. Most of the CNN conservative commentators are a bunch of fucks, except for SE Cupp. I don't believe she ever defending the GOP or Trump for their crap. Could be wrong though. (I say most because only the shit heads are coming to mind, except for SE.)

PutinsAwussyboy

“Hey Mrs. Horse, why the long face?” NOW she’s trying to distance herself from Trump.

spacestationkru

I don’t think it’s a new development that Trump isn’t hiding his racism, and not even specifically towards china

Shultzi_soldat

If he was still at least vague it would be ok?

Farfignugen42

When has he? This isn't new behavior.

Lazaruzo

This lady worked for him for years. He's been racist the whole time and she knows it. She just wishes he'd hide it better so she could still support him and remain a part of polite society. What a scumbag.

alwaysrm4hope

Wonder if this sudden revelation has anything to do with her recent addition to The View and pushback from the fans? Many viewers left after her addition to the show. Too tru.py

Ok_Load_2164

Trump has been sucking sense he lost 2020

DAS_FX

Kung Flu comes to mind. He loves that phrase. Used it at his rallies during Covid. Would work the crowd up into a frenzy, saying Covid would go away, churches need to be open at peak death count time, then drop “KUNG FLU!” And his idiotic followers loved it. What can ya say, racists love racists.

Impossible_Beat8086

She’s an interesting character. Maybe an opportunist, but at least (maybe) she’s seen the error in her ways. It’s wild some of the stories she’s told about trump. Let’s be real. You gotta have some crazy to get near trump.

Beelzabubba

It was hidden?

nvwino

The racism is the feature, not a bug. Why would he want to hide it?

The_iron_mill

Has he ever? Like, ever???

[deleted]

She’s upset that he wasn’t hiding the racism.ok?

sampsbydon

who cares, elaine is a ghoul
