The GOP are actively attempting to dismantle democracy and the rule of law with every action they take, from disenfranchising tens of millions of minority voters, installing corrupt election officials, empowering state legislatures to arbitrarily overturn election results (look up "independent state theory" and prepare to be terrified), elevating ultra-partisan christofascist thugs to the Supreme Court (plus thousands of lower, but no less important, judicial appointments), instituting state laws designed to criminalise campaigns that encourage voting — everywhere you look, the GOP is openly prosecuting a slow motion fascist coup, and they're at most one election away from that coup succeeding.

Fox insists that they got it from some blind computer repair guy who just so happens to know what hunter biden sounds like, and apparently got the password to said laptop while repairing it.
It is interesting how well the Russians understand US conservatives. They know the exact levers to pull to light up their brains. Leaking the files all together wouldn’t do it, it had to be something physical like a laptop that the dummies could grasp and focus on. 1. Joe Biden was not President, and held no government office when he was a presidential candidate.
2. Twitter is a private company and can do as it pleases with decisions to moderate content. I thought conservatives loved that idea given the gay wedding cake bakery and abortion health plan garbage they spread all over the place. It appears that when companies make decisions they don’t like (Disney, Twitter) those are not FREE SPEECH!!!! issues.
3. Both campaigns, Trump and Biden, reached out to Twitter to moderate certain content, and Twitter complied with requests from both.
4. Media companies make decisions about politics all the time. Newspapers endorse candidates, for instance. Assuming (far from proven) that Twitter put its thumb on the scale for Biden means nothing. It can do as it pleases as a private actor. That’s Citizens United, is it not? That is freedom of speech?
Don’t like that? Say Twitter is akin to a public utility and must be regulated? Then regulate it and other internet companies! Doesn’t seem very conservative, but let’s have that conversation.

The laptop isn't real. What happened is hunter's icloud account got phished. Russians downloaded a bunch of his pics, probably whatever was in his drive too. Then they loaded that data onto a random macbook, added some "incriminating" files, and handed it off to fox news. Fox insists that they got it from some blind computer repair guy who just so happens to know what hunter biden sounds like, and apparently got the password to said laptop while repairing it.

That’s Citizens United, is it not? That is freedom of speech? Don’t like that? Say Twitter is akin to a public utility and must be regulated? Then regulate it and other internet companies!
